My Sentiments:

Wow...what a read about two supposedly friends?  Both of these ladies...Destiny and Des had some problems, but Des took it overboard in all that she did to her friend.  The story will be quite read as the story continues on from their days when they met in college.  Why was Des so determined to destroy Destiny as she lied, was deceitful with some much betrayal behind all she did?  But more importantly...why didn't Destiny listen to her friends Chloe and Malik? Well, to find out this and more, you will have to pick up this good read to see how it all turns out for both of them.  I was left shaking my head...that was some read!

My Sentiments:

Book 2 of this series featuring Destiny and Ralph is an enjoyable read where we see how a person's life can change for the good as it did for Destiny.  Yes, Destiny had done some horrible things in her life but with God's help, she was able to turn things around for the betterment of it all.  One thing was finally, realizing that Nick was not going to be Her's and moving on with her life.  And what will happen?  Will Destiny be able to find someone who truly loves her and not let her past define the future?  There will be a lot of twists and turns, along with the Prophesy, drama, love, and inspirational scriptures, before the ending to a good read.

"The Spirit That Surrenders to Grace" by Nikki Smith

My Sentiments:

'The Spirit that Surrenders to Grace' was a good read about Eve Johnson, who 'dreams of having her high-fashion shop that carries clothing with her name embroidered on the tag.' Will that happen to her? Also, there was something else she wanted for her life that Eve found missing. Now, what would make this a completion for her? It seemed like someone from the past was presenting himself, but naturally, she had no thoughts of this 'narcissistic person. However, as the story goes on, something happened in Sean Bell's life that brought about a change. But will Eve believe this to be true? 'In the end, will Eve be able to surrender to Grace and forgive Sean for his misdeeds, and maybe they have a shot at love?' Follow this story to the end to see how well this author brings it out to the reader.

My Assessment:

'Almost Destroyed 2' was one read that all is left to say is our God took care of Ava. Through all of the 'storms, trials, and tribulations,' God was with her every step of the way. It was hard to read how Andre and that so-called friend had been treating Ava and to find out someone else was in on much of what had gone down with Ava. But I loved how she held on to God with her many prayers, scriptures, and friends; finally, all questions were answered in the end. So be ready for an emotional read that lets one know God is with you to the end if you trust him and obey his will.

My Opinion:

'For Such a Time as This' was indeed a good story of what happened to Keisha after her mother, Shirley Jackson, took her to live with her parents[Ernest & MildredWyatt]...after she had 'received marine military order to Afghanistan.' What will happens after 'Keisha unintentionally breaks the school's zero-tolerance policy and ends up in the school-to-prison pipeline?' The author did a wonderful job that showed what can happen through the 'injustice of it all' if there is no change. With the help of Keisha, her grandparents, the lawyer, and some friends, Christopher, Darren, Maddie.. with petitions being presented, will there be a break in this chain in this school system? Be ready for a good read to find out all the answers to these questions and more. I like the discussion questions that were included at the end of the read.
