"Her Vow" by Aja

My Perception:  

'Her Vow' is a good story about Sarai finally getting her true love with Malachi. Yes, Sarai was tested by being abandoned by her mother and now by Malachi's mom, who presented problems. However, she was able to handle that situation with the help of her therapist through counseling. 

By the end, we see Sarai finally learning to love herself, her family, and Malachi.  

This author did a fantastic job presenting the reader with a good read.

"Secrets, Secrets" by Danyelle Scroggins

My Sentiments:  

'Secrets, Secret' by this wonderful author gives us a real-life read of what happened to an 'LGBT influencer and queen,' Marcus Darby, who was murdered. Detective Katrina Jacobs, who took on this case along with Detective Regina Owens, worked hard to solve it, and with God's help...they will bring it all out. Well, I will stop there and say you must pick up 'Secret, Secret' and see how well they did with others helping and getting to the end of who had done this horrible deed. I was surprised by one of the people that was guilty. It shows you that one can never tell what is genuinely in one's soul. I especially enjoyed how this author could tie this story together so well; she brought in the biblical aspect of one of the detective's belief in God and how she used it in her daily prayers.

My Sentiments:

'A Cry In The Darkness' is a good read that gives the reader a bit of mystery, suspense, and romance. It happened in this small town named Drum, Tennessee, where Caroline Blakely just happened to come upon a rural setting where she had been on the run from her father. Caroline [Carly] never thought she would be so 'involved with secrets from her past' as she passes through this town, only stopping due to car trouble. Not only will there be drama as you read through this scary story, but be ready for many problems, from drugs, lynchpins, kingpins, crime, corruption, secrets, murder, and so much more, before one gets to the end. This story will keep one guessing as you turn the pages to see what is coming next for Carly as she is now having her car towed, finding a job as a waitress...having to get a room at a motel...and, oh yeah, then she hears fighting and then witnessing a young boy being killed. I will stop here and say that is only some of what happens in this story of many twists and turns. Yes, there will be some good people in the read and some not so good, that will keep one attention as you continue through this 'whodunnit' read.

Overall, 'A Cry In The Dark' was a good story. There will be a series as the story continues with many characters from Drum, TN.

My Sentiments:

When Jamar thinks that life is going well for him, married to Milan with two boys, what will happen when he finds out that his friends, especially his best friend, Bryce was not his friend? But one may ask...what brought all of this on? What had Jamar done that karma soon came for him? I don't want to tell it to you, but you the reader should pick this story up because the author brings it all out so well to what Jamar was doing and it seemed to think in his mind that it was ok. What I couldn't understand seemed to understand just why his friends were being disloyal to him. However, his friends and the woman he was fooling around with didn't like him doing what he was doing and yes, he was called out on it, even though they were doing the same. It was karma coming back to bite him especially when his wife found out. But was she one to say anything after all she had previously done? Again, pick up 'That's Not Yo Chic Just You Turn' to see how it will...well it seems like we have a cliffhanger, toward the end, and you will have to go to the next story to find out who is still alive. Be ready for many twists and turns in this mystery, thriller, and suspenseful read, along with 'hate, drama, violence, secrets, and death' that will keep one turning the pages to see what will be going on next for Jamar and all the karma that seems to be coming straight for him. Who will learn a lesson from all of this with all of the chaos that is going on?

My Sentiments:

As we continue from book one, we find that Lainey Elaine Abbott is working with Greg as a Defense Lawyer in this new partnership. They will soon take on a case where we find out who called Kelsey Freeman. What will happen when an athlete, Kurt Blaze, is accused of this murder and seeks these lawyers to help him? Also, in this story, will we discover that Lainey's sister's death wasn't an accident? A lot will be going on, so you must keep up. What will happen as we find Lainey, who is working with Greg? Yes, the guy she once dated and is now working with him as a law partner. Will Russ... Laniney's now boyfriend, have any thoughts about that?

The reader will have to keep up because this will be a pretty intriguing good mystery, thriller, and suspense read, and by the end, one will get the answer to one of these central questions: Who is the person who murdered Kelsey Freeman?

My Sentiments:

'Jane Doe Black' was a read that will keep one turning the pages to see what was going on with Lainey Elaine] Abbott, a New York Assistant District Attorney after her sister Stephanie's visit went missing on her way back to Penn University supposedly. This will be quite a read as Lainey has another problem to contend with...her drinking. What will happen after her friend or ex-boyfriend Russ Sanders, who was a police detective, comes to Elaine's rescue trying to help her find her sister? This is a case in which the police seemed incompetent, as they seemed to let cases become cold way too soon. I shouldn't have said that...but check this read out for yourself!

It will be quite a read with lots of twists and turns, complex characters, as we see how the injustice system can be, missing women of color, death, suspense, mystery, romance, angst, and a family member who was a person whom Lainey thought she knew, but did she really?

As the story ends, the reader will not be left hanging, as the author gives it all to us. You will have to pick up this good read to see what she did for us by the end of this story. It is indeed a good, well-written story.

This is the last of this book 6 series that did tie up this mystery story quite well. There were many twists and turns, but the story ended with a little romance for the two main characters, Laura and Harry. I enjoyed how the author gave in each of her series some information divulged in each book that would lead to some conclusion to the story as you continue on to the next book.

Yes, another 'mystery romantic relationship with family and friends will be found in this short thriller adventure that will keep one turning the pages. Now Laura and Harry have returned from Alaska with their missing friend, Chloe. What has This poor girl been through? Lots of lies and deceit all around her seem like a mess. And besides that, she told Laura and Harry her new name was Sylvia Sands!

 And their friend will be accused of being in contact with this kidnapping organization. So, the story will 

continue. Was Chloe really involved in this mess? There will be much upheaval and intrigue that will be coming in the next Book 6. So get ready! You, the rea er, will be k t 'guessing, making predictions' while trying to figure out what is happening with these characters.' What's up with Laura's mom? As this series continues with book four, this author gives the reader another good story as we see Laura and Harry continuing their investigation. Through this investigation, these two, along with the police [Detective Greta], will they be able to find a classmate Chloe, who has been missing for over twenty years? 

Laura is still trying to discover who kidnapped Trin and the other kids and who else is involved in this mess. Laura still has to find out more about her mom's illness, and with that, she tries to fight off her feelings for Harry. Will she be able to do that?  

Be ready for many twists and turns, a fast-paced mystery, as the story gets very complex in what all is going on with some fascinating characters that will leave one in awe ...I didn't see that one coming. To get the rest of the story, you must pick up this read and be ready for the next book, 5, as this cliffhanger continues.

This series picks up where series Book One leaves off after trying to solve the twenty-year disappearance of an old friend.  Now another disappearance shows up.  Will these two have anything to do with each other?  What will happen as these two Laura and Harry are working together to find out what has happened?  This series will keep your attention as one stays tentative about what is going on in the suspenseful read as the story continues to build.  Be ready for a short read with lots of drama, mystery, and suspense that will take one to the end only wanting more...that coming in the next Book 3 that is coming next.  Yes, this is a cliffhanger!

"Slick" by Aja

My Sentiments:

'Slick' was a good series, a well-written story that we learned a bit more about Sarai. Sarai was quite a character in being 'a loose cannon...explosive & unpredictable.' However, when Malachi [Chi] comes into the picture, being this family lawyer, and Sarai needs some help, he is right there for her, giving her encouragement and healing and the love she also needs in her life. Some interesting characters, especially Malachi's mom, Carmen, Elijah [Smoke], and Eli [Maestro]. I especially loved that Sarai finally saw that she was truly loved by her father, brother, and Malachi.

Be ready for plenty of 'drama, mayhem, anger, family issues, and therapy counseling sessions' that bring the story altogether. If you haven't read the other two series, you may want to read them before reading this last series because it will make more sense to one that has read all of the series since this was the climax.

My Sentiments:

'Bitter Bestfriend 2' was quite a read about two sisters who were twins [Anaci and Nadia], where one seemed to hate the other, which was mainly due to jealousy. This was a real read of some drama off the rail, definitely on a roller-coaster ride, leaving the reader shaking their head and saying wow! But, then, that ending was quite a turnaround, and I will stop here and say, pick this read up for an emotional drama story with a surprising ending.

My Sentiments:

'Sins of They Mother 3' was quite a series that will keep the reader turning the pages to see what this mother, Denise, will do next. With all that has gone on in this family, especially the treatment of Denise's children [Tisha, Terricka, and Shamel], well, what happened with her is not shocking. Yes, this was quite an emotional read that will leave one shaking their heads and saying wow, what a story.

My Sentiments:

'Triggered' was quite a read bringing in the mystery, thriller, and suspense of a good short read. What will happen when two brothers and two girlfriends come together where nothing is left from the story but a lot of 'craziness, infidelity, and murder?' By the end of the road, no one is innocent in this super messy plot twist. The ending will leave the reader seeing that karma will get you one way or the other in the end.
