"Joy and Pain" by Chick Brown

My Perception:  

'Joy and Pain' was quite an intriguing read. It dealt mainly with Khari and Braxton, an interracial couple. Nothing was too surprising about these two. It was great to see that they truly loved each other even after Khari discovered Brax's secret. Some secondary characters were also interesting, such as Brax's best friend Cam and Khari and Brax's nanny. It was beautiful what they did to help Quay, the nanny. Then, Khari's best friend, Maya, was there for Khari. Also, I want to include Brax's mother, who was now, well, I will leave it there and say you must pick up this good read to see what happened between them.  

This was another excellent book by this author. If you are looking for a good romantic, multicultural, interracial read, you have come to the right place.

My Rationalization:


When I first started reading 'Dating Jordan,' I didn't know what to expect. However, I will say it was Quite a story of what one interracial relationship was put through. I felt so sorry for what had happened with Kelly and Jordan. A story like this one makes a person wonder why people can be so mean and to know that there are places like Kettlesburg that are still like this even today highly prejudice only to leave you shaking your head.

I don't want to tell to much of the story other than to say this is a short story that you will have to pick up and read it for yourself of how this friendship was developing into 'an unplanned love affair.' I will say that ending had me in tears. To the author, Mr. Lewis, you did an excellent job delivering this story.

My Rationalization:

Even though I read the first read 'An Alpha's Desire' by this author I still enjoy this second re-read about Daniel and Desire.  I will say this second read will add more to this story that will keep you turning the pages to see what's next.  I loved the 'banter along with the smoking hot sex.'  Now I will say if you are not a fan of BDSM this read may not be for you!  If you are..  sit back and enjoy the read!

Be ready for a strong alpha male with also a strong alpha female that will give the reader a delightful read of how much this hero will do in order to spend his life with this heroine.  Let's not forget the secondary characters that will definitely add to the story that help give the reader understand a little more to what is going on in the story.

My Rationalization:

We find that Church and Goldie had no time for games, therefore, they went after what they wanted with Church being so bossy and Goldie was definitely a 'hot ride.'   However, Church may have had some quirks about him but Goldie was definitely the one to let him know how she felt when he talked to her like he did.  Therefore, he was left standing there looking quite stupid and what was great about the read was that Church was able to right a wrong and apologize.  Now, to get the whole story you will have to pick up 'Lady Guardians: Goldie: Nationals.' It will be hot and steamy read!

"The Swirl:  A Haunted Crave" Part 1  by Cornelia Smith

My Rationalization: from Book 1

I will say this was quite a 'swirl' of a read with some real shady characters that will keep you turning the pages to see what is coming next.  Definitely, the race was a 'testy subject' that was there throughout the read. What will happen 'when you lust for the person you are supposed to hate' as it was for Leo?  This was quite an interesting story that will leave the reader only wanting to know the rest of the story.

I liked how this author put the novel "The Swirl" book one and two together giving the reader the whole read, but did she do that?  While this story moves on and takes the reader through a little bit of it all 'between lust, love' and so much more that you will just have to keep up.  Poor June at times I really felt sorry for her as she had a big decision to make and what will she do it?  But before June is able to make that choice it seems to be made for her and that I believe is why she did what she did.  Now to find out you will have to pick up this novel.  All I can say is that there were so many twists and turns when it all goes down I was really caught shaking my head. However, a the end of the story it sorta all comes together but this author gives the reader a little something that will have one to think there may be more to this story.  I will not say so you will have to pick up this well-told story to see for yourself how well this author brings it all out to the reader. I did find this novel book 1 and 2 quite some read that really played in a good love triangle wreckage.

"Lady Guardians: Shifting Gears" by Olivia Gaines

My Thoughts....

I enjoyed this read of 'Lady Guardians: Shirting Gears' featuring 'Keoni [Hot Stuff] and Dave Gear [Throttle]. Who would have thought that these two a Librarian and this biker would develop such a loving relationship where he loves her intelligence, her funniness and independence. Now this whole way these two met you will just have to pick up this good read and see how that was done in Chapter 1! I will say that their interaction was over the top...HOT!

For Keoni loved his easy going and the fact that he had moved to take care of his grandfather, Poppa J. However, what will happen when it comes out that Keoni had previously dated Throttle's cousin [Carlton] and that she had no idea they were kin to each other? That indeed was a very interesting scene!

One thing that Keoni wanted and that was to become a Lady Guardian and this read explains it all so very well that you will not be able to put it down until the very end. I will say this is a good read of how one could possibly become a 'Lady Biker.'

If you are looking for a good read of a neat woman, getting her machine [bike] and her man along with some crazy family twists then you have come to the right place for a beautiful awesome ride of "Lady Guardians: Shifting Gears."

My Thoughts....

This was definitely one story that had me shaking my head and saying what in the world?  For poor Tess who thought she had it all...a good husband [Amiri] and her  good friend [Marrissa] but to find out that she had been betrayed by both of them in the worst way on her wedding day!  Well, I can say is that Tess didn't leave this situation so well  [bringing a gun to confront Amiri and Marissa] where she had to later fix the problem [through anger management] of what she had done but thanks to her new friend Jake things did go OK for her.  I will say sometimes when things seem to knock you down right around the corner can be a new path for you as it was for Tess in how she met Jake. Did Jake have feeling for Tess after the first meeting?   This story will bring in some twist and turns as it seems that Jake's friend Frank who really had some real problems with his wife Rachel who did try to bring in problems in her marriage[ by hitting on Jake]. Then as the story goes on we see that Jake's father comes into the picture.  I did like how well Tess kept after Jake about meeting with his father.  All in all this was a good  love story  where each of the main characters helped each other and in the end one could see the love that Tess and Jake had for each other was definitely there. Definitely in the end the reader can see that karma was a bitch for these two...Marissa and Amiri and no amount of asking for forgiveness would change the fact to what both of them had done to Tess. I enjoyed this fast read that had some interesting and  believable characters that was presented with the right amount of angst that will keep your attention till the end.

My Thoughts....

This was a beautiful story of Gabby and Evan.  After being interviewed and hired for a nanny job for his son Milo by Evan was their be a attraction between these two?  After having to deal with an ex wife Nikki will Evan be able to see pass this attraction he had for Gabby?  What will happen as they both decide to see what this would lead to and let's not leave out the hot, spicy and steamy sex scenes.

Well, it will take a minute to see what was up with that ex as she did try to come between these two.

What I had wondered about was should Nikki have gotten off so easy as what she had done?  As you continue to read through this story you will find it is well written and yes, a little predictable as the author presents us a good story that showed that true love can win out in the end.

All of this is due to secrets that will come out giving the reader quite a lot of twist and turns before we can get the answers and then we are left in with a cliffhanger to get the rest of the story.

From the read one could see why Mila had a reason for her self doubt about wanting to make the correct decision about marrying Blake.  With all of the twist and turns in this story especially from that crazy Todd and evil sister Lido finally we have a fantastic ending!

My Thoughts.

Good Read!

This author gives the reader something to think about...what happens when a secret finally comes out but was it really a secret that one important person already knew about it? I kept wondering what was it about these sisters that seemed to keep them apart [Chanel & Rochelle]? Let's not leave out the two main characters... Chanel & Dario who were two interesting people were truly drawn together in so many ways. Well, all I can say is that is this was one amazing read with twist and turns that that one will only have to pick up and read to see how well this author presents it to the readers. I enjoyed how the story flowed so well together and in the end all I can say is that the readers will gets one simply a good read.

My Thoughts...

Good story that deals with Blake's and Astrid's story.  The characters were simply off the chart well done...developed, portrayed giving this story one that you will not want to put down and at the end wanting more.  Truly this was a family...'The Owens' [this hilarious group] that you will not want to mess with as they excepted Astrid into their fold because of their love for Blake.  After the amnesia story line and the Power's entering back into the picture along with Cameron [a cousin], now how will this play out for Blake and Astrid? Will their be a change in the way Blake sees his birth parents? "How far will the Powers go to convince Blake that he's always been one of them? And to push Astrid out his life for good?"  To get these questions answered and so much more the reader will just have to pick up this good read to see how it will turn out.  Be ready to expect from a humorous to a heartwarming family read.

My Final Thoughts of this series!

WONDERFUL, GREAT, SIMPLY AMAZING, DYNAMIC, INTRIGUING, MYSTERIOUS, SUSPENSEFUL, FUNNY, SEXY AND ONE  GREAT HECK OF A  CONCLUSION TO A EXCELLENT SERIES!

Why do I say all of that?

Alika Collins Cambridge  was one strong black woman FINALLY THERE being strong, wise and oh my goodness loving!

Rush Cambridge...well... all I can see he was truly one take charge..ALPHA...definitely a protector!

Now after saying all of that...

This author did a excellent job at bringing it all out for this hero and heroine  in this last series "Rapture 4."  I loved how all of the important questions were answered for me.

How this author brings it all out front and center about Alika was mind simply mind blowing! Now, I can even more understand Alika's background that showing her many 'trial and tribulations that she had gone through. And in the end finding her family! Alika finally gets closure!

The reader gets even more new characters in this last series...Coco[Anikka], Davina with a few others that gives us quite a interesting understanding of this whole story with Alika.

The reader will get one full  circle of a read...now I will say you will have to read the whole series to really understand how well this author delivers and brings it all out to the reader.,,,"Rapture, Rapture 2, Rapture 3 and the finale...Rapture 4."

So, if you are looking for a series with sexy romance, intrigueness with oh my....so many twist and turns you have come to the right place for 'Rapture 4' will give it all to you and more!

Now, I want to end this review by saying this author was new for me and when she sent me her Rapture Series to read and give my honest opinion,  I didn't know what to expect. But I will say after reading the entire Rapture Series .... this was one of the best series I have had the privilege of reading in one setting in a long time.  This series of Rapture 1-4 was simply a wonderful read and reading it one behind each other... all that is left to say is that it was one excellent written series.  I hope to read many more novels by this author.  Thank you Author Perri Forrest for giving the readers such a great Rapture Series read that was truly enjoyed.💓

My Views....

All I can say is I loved this series....the characters are simply off the chart...well developed, portrayed and oh so believable that you will not be able to put this one down until the end...only left wanting more!  The reader will be able to feel all of the emotions from its intriguness, excitement, danger, heartbreak, romance [passionate loving chemistry], as this author delivers to us a mystery, suspense, serial killer, with twist and turns and even the humor in one amazing well told story.  To name a few of the  characters ..from Rush, Alika, Tracie, Jamie, Greg, Jenae, Michaela, Miss Glenda, Siobhan, Carl, Jamie to Quinton to name a few will give the reader one awesome good HEA read.A lot of these characters have their own story giving the reader wow of a read.   This was definitely one of those reads that was truly about the 'family that had it all to deal with from pasted issues, betrayal, forgiveness and the unconditional love that was had for one another.'  All that is left for me to say is that this author really knows how to bring her characters to life where you will only be left wanting more and since there is one more series 'Rapture 4' I am more than sure we are in another wonderful read and learning even more about this family that seems to have quite a blend.  I definitively would recommend this read but also I will say the reader will need to start with 'Rapture,' then move on the 'Rapture 2' and then this one 'Rapture 3' to fully understand how well this story has been put together and delivered so very well to the reader.
