"Secrets of the Courtroom" by Freya Atwood

My Perception:
Tears of Innocence:

Amanda Stoll has returned to Twin Peaks after being gone for twenty years and working at a law office with two other lawyers, Rebecca and Harriett. So why did Amanda return after all of this time? It had something to do with her brother Harry which seemed to be a pain in the..., however, she loved him. And it looks like she is needed as it looks like her cousin Laura is being charged with terrorism. How will all of this work out for Amanda? Also, she has an ex-boyfriend who does not take no for an answer.

As Amanda continues to work on the case, she finds out a lot about this town she had grown up in and that things were not as it seemed for what was going on in this corrupt system that involved a judge, along with some in the police department and who else that went along in all of this chaos. Will Amanda break this all down and get her cousin acquitted? How will all of this corruption come out? You must pick up this good read and see how well this author brings it all out.

Also, it seemed that her brother Harry was involved in something criminal. He was not right about what he was doing or who he was dealing with in this position. Will Amanda be able to help him get out of that situation?

Be ready for an exciting read of how this story showed the importance of family and what happens when corruption hits the town. There will also be an extended epilogue that does add to complete the story.

Frozen Truth:

'Frozen Truth' was another one of this author's crime legal thrillers that will keep one's attention till the end. Will prosecutor Spencer Adams and her associate Melody be able to prosecute this case against Kevin Orton, who was a celebrity where there was evidence of him being an abuser of his girlfriend who had been murdered? Also, what was up with the video evidence of this boyfriend dropping off blood-stained clothes in a dumpster? To get into this compelling case of what is going on in the 'Frozen Truth' story, which was quite an emotional rollercoaster ride, pick up this read to see how well this author brings this legal crime thriller out.


Cursed Lawyer:

'Cursed Lawyer' was another of this author's good reads that will keep one's attention turning the pages to see what has gone on in this Canyonville town. We find the lawyer John Crox had been through a lot after losing his wife and daughters. After that tragic event, he started picking up his life again, opening up a non-profit law firm when a priest was murdered. John takes on the job pro bono of helping Camilla Rockwell, a black homeless woman who had been accused of the murder. It seems like everyone has her convicted even before this trial begins. The plot will be interesting as this church seemed involved in 'a mysterious cult.' Were there secrets being hidden about this priest? When there seems to be no one who answers many of the critical questions, how will John solve this uphill battle in all of the courtroom drama? Be prepared with many twists and turns that keep one interested in who this murderer could be. After the verdict has been delivered, will the reader be surprised at whom the murderer was?

With the extended epilogue, you can get the whole story and more. Pick up "Cursed Lawyer" to see how well this author presents it to the reader; you will not be disappointed.

My Perception:

'The Lawyer's Crime' was another excellent great when this author will keep you turning the pages to see what is coming next. We now find Ben Wolfe, the lawyer in Seattle who wants to speak with his once-best friend. However, he also runs into his brother Nicolas, who tries to give Ben some good advice on his current situation. Will he listen? After talking with that best friend, he returns to Adak, AL. He is trying to find his friend Sophie, who has gone missing. Well, that did not turn out too well for Ben because his problems only got worse...now he is back in Seattle, in jail. The story continues, and Ben finally listens to his brother, and things start moving along. This is where I say you must pick up this read because it's all over the place with all that is happening and that Harper lady being at the cause of it all. Will Ben be able to get out of this mess, or will he end up in prison for what he has previously done for this woman with whom he thought he was so in love? You must see how well the Harper woman gets away with her scheming. At the end of this extended epilogue, we see that this Harper woman had someone else killed, and she didn't do it. We are left wondering who is working with her and how she gets out of all she has done. We will have to pick up the next series to find out.

"Adak's Trapped Lawyer" by Freya Atwood

My Perception:  

'Adak's Trapped Lawyer' was quite a read that continues on from the book 1 series. We find Benjamin Wolfe has to get the consequences that happened from his past some ten years ago while living in Seattle. In the story, Wolfe finds out who his friends are, and only one comes to mind. How will he get out of all this that seems to be surrounding him on all sides?   I didn't feel sorry for any of the characters because the town of Adak, AL, was a place I would not want to live in and to think Wolfe was there due to a so-called friend suggesting him to go there. You will discover what kind of friend this old boss was as you read. To find out what is going on, you must pick up this read and don't forget the epilogue... again, there was one in trouble, but I couldn't feel sorry for her one bit because Wolfe tried to warn her, but she didn't listen. Will she make it out alive...well, you will have to pick up this story to see how it all comes out. Hopefully, we will get the story's reminder because it tends to continue.

My Perception:
This author gives the reader a read that will keep one turning the pages. This story is loaded with well-developed characters, has many twists and turns, and leaves the reader trying to figure out the secret mystery of this legal thriller in Atdak, AL.

As you read, the reader will want to know the following...What is the dark secret that Benjamin Wolfe is haunted by? Who is this person accused of murder? Who is the serial killer, and will Benjamin be able to save his client in time?

To get all these answers and much more, you must pick up this good read to see how well the author reveals it all in the end. The extended epilogue adds a bit more to the story.

My Perception:

'Secret Law' was quite a read of how attorney Alex Peterson is put through the mill with worrying about his son Lucas, who is under his ex-wife's care, and then a friend, Franklin Edwards, has been murdered. But it all gets even stranger when the victim's secretary, Madison Scott, calls for him to defend her, George, Alex's best friend. Now, what was going on with this situation? What secret was out there that seemed to be coming out?

Along with everything else in Alex's life, what was happening with Alex's ex-wife and their son Lucas? Why was Alex concerned about this situation?

The reader must pick up this good read to see how the author reveals everything. You will keep turning the pages to find out what is going on with this Madison woman and who else was involved in this murder as Alex 'unravels the web of lies and protects what matters most.' By the end, will Alex be able to keep his past a secret? The epilogue was quite interesting in what comes out for the story of 'Silent Law.'

"Secret Law" will be a good read.

Enjoy the extended epilogue that lets one know how it turns out for Ethan and his mother [David's ex-wife], Mia, and she must get used to David's assistance because Amelia isn't going anywhere.

My Sentiments:

'Murdered Lawyer' is an excellent legal thriller that will keep one turning the pages to see what is going on with Charles Lawson, an attorney working on Emily's case. The reader will find the characters well-developed, ed with a lot of action and suspense all around this story. The story is all about who killed Charles's friend, Alex, who had been murdered, while another friend has been charged with that murder. Will Charles solve this complicated case before it's too late? The reader must pick up this good read to see how this author brings it all out. However, from the extended epilogue, Charles has more coming from the letters being sent. So, we will get another excellent story about that one coming up. Stay tuned for that one!

My Sentiments:

'Tainted Justice' was another one of this author's Legal Thrillers that was off the chart; well done. This story will have one wondering if this woman that Maya had thought about taking her case is crazy or what due to the lies that start coming out. Be ready for plenty of twists and turns before the truth emerges. As always, we get plenty of court drama as we see her life emerge, and a change needs to be made. This comes out very well in the extended epilogue.

My Sentiments:  

Will Lawyer Jasmine Davis finally be able to get Robert Thornton convicted of murder, as it seems with him being so adored by all? What will happen when Jasmine promises to help another person who has been raped? Will she be able to get justice for her? This is quite an enjoyable 'blood-pumping legal thriller' read that you cannot put down at the end to get all the questions answered and much more. And yes, there is an extended epilogue that will bring the story all together in the future. I was so glad Jasmine finally confided to Bob.

'A Deadly Lawyer' by Freya Atwood

My Sentiments:  

As this story continues from  'Pursuit of Justice,' we find the lawyer for Mark Mason, who was Sam Spenser, still trying to work on his case. Will she be able to find this Golden Lake Killer who has taken it upon himself to contact Sam? Will this 'Red' realize how brilliant Samantha is before it's too late for him? Or will he outsmart her again and again? Will he ever caught?  

Well, this story really left me shaking my head and saying, why in the world did this author leave the reader like this?.  Oh, well, this one ended weirdly, is all I am left to say. You will have to pick this one up and be sure to get this first story: 'Pursuit of Justice' and then 'A Deadly Lawyer' to see if you can get that ending!

My Sentiments:

'Pursuit of Justice' was quite a good crime and legal thriller that will keep one turning the pages to see what is coming next for this lawyer, Sam Spencer, and let's not leave out her crazy sister and brother that Sam has to deal with family business too.

Now, we find Sam is defending a man accused of being a murderer, but was he one? As Sam goes into court, will Sam be able to get him off? The story will have many twists and turns before we get to the end, and then the reader will have to read the next book: 'A Deadly Lawyer' to get to the end of this whole story truly. So, be prepared to be left hanging if you don't pick up the second book in this Sam Spencer Legal Thriller Series Book 2.

This author makes us work to get it all, but it's worth it after all is said and done. It is a good read!

My Sentiments:

'The Sister's Case' was not only interesting but also intriguing where the reader will be kept wanting to know what is going on with this kidnapped case in not only Jasmine, who is an attorney, but Bob, who is also involved because his sister was the one missing. The story will be a long process of twists and turns where we find Jasmine and Bob working so hard to find Kate, the missing sister. Even after Kate is found will they be able to get justice for her after all is said and done due to who was all involved? Will Jasmine give up on this case? What will happen after a certain person visits this group...Jasmine, Bob, and Kate? What will happen when Jasmine begins to think of what had happened to her mother some forty years ago? Will this be a deciding factor for Jasmine not to give up on this case? Toward the end of the story who will be discovered dead? How will that change the course of this story? Will this story leave us wanting more?

To find out all the answers to these questions and so much more, the reader will have to pick up "The Sister's Case" and see how and if it will come out in the end. and don't forget the extended epilogue.

"Justice in Doubt: A Maya Jones Legal Thriller" by Freya Atwood

My Sentiments:

"Justice in Doubt" is another of this author's good reads as we see Maya Jones taking on the job of being a lawyer as she finds out who shot her husband, Evan, five times, who was a captain in the police department. Be ready for an exciting read as Maya, working with another lawyer, Michael discovers this was not an ordinary shooting that had happened to her husband. Still, Evan was the victim of a hitman. As the story goes on, the reader will see many twists and turns as Maya finds out this situation had something to do with her parent's accident that had killed them many years ago. This is quite a page-turner mystery with crime and suspense hanging all over the place in the action-packed courtroom drama...so one will have to keep up with the read so that all questions will be answered very well by the end. To truly understand what has happened in this series, I would suggest you start reading from Book 1 through Book 4 to get the whole story of what has happened up till now.

The extending epilogue was good...in showing that this couple...Maya, Evan, and Emmy finally get something they want on Monmouth Beach.

Be ready for another unique story from this latest series in Book Four.
