Review:
"Desert Flower" by Tom Olbert was simply a good short paranormal read being a fast packed novel that was full of vampires, blood, demons and Taliban's. The story was of two lost soul(Fleurette)...who has been turned into a vampire...escapes to Afghanistan... she comes to the aid of Ruhee who has been raped and in a 'dark bondage as a child bride'. These two lost souls become sisters ....only Ruhee doesn't know in the beginning that Fleurette is vampire....(Ruhee) now ....."must keep her 'sister's dark secret." As Ruhee grows older and meets the Taliban solder Batal .... there will be problems" between the light and darkness" and Ruhee will have to choose between...love or immortality ....that she will have to face head on...and I don't want to give away any more of this good read...other than have you to pick up "Desert Flower" to see who this all turns out.
The characters were really a intriguing group of people.... Fleurette, Ruhee, Batal, Aaban,
Dhakir, Aalam, Aara, Khazin, Captain Duggan, Sahar, Ron Davis, Naheeha, Damurah, Miliak, Commander Burayd El Sayid and Grace....only to name a few....if nothing else the names were very interesting.
I thought this was a interesting and well written read and if you are in for a good short paranormal novel this one would be for you.
