Review:
"Survival: A Memoir in Dealing with Rape and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder" by Elizabeth Mattke was a very enlighten read for me. I was able to really learn what goes on with a person that has been raped. This is a very sad subject but is one that needs to be out their for anyone who has suffered such horrible thing in their life. I am glad the way this subject was presented. To see how Elizabeth dealt with two rapes and post-traumatic stress disorder was really a intriguing read. How she was able to deal with all of this through the help of her diaries, poems and especially with God's help. To see how Elizabeth shared her 'therapist's notes homework assignments' really helped in the healing process. The information I received from Elizabeth's story was if needed..... to seek help, listen and not to judge the hurting, find strength to be able to function in society again and most of all seek God's help.
For anyone who has been in this situation....Elizabeth Mattke book will be of comfort to you and I would recommend as a good read.
BOOKS... I love reading and have read a lot of GENRES in my lifetime. Being a book reviewer for Net Gallery and many various authors, I have contributed many reviews to Goodreads, Amazon, LibraryThing, and my blog page here. I get to read all the books I love and then share by reviewing the read. These are my true feeling of what I feel of each novel I read.
