WHAT YOU'VE DONE: A romantic suspense thriller Kindle Edition by J.A. Schneider April 16

Book Excerpt:

"A small town divorce lawyer ("I know people's secrets") blames herself when a client's teen daughter is brutally murdered. She investigates and finds herself the killer's next target.

Grieving the loss of her NYPD detective husband, former defense attorney Mia Peale moves to Grand Cove, Connecticut, desperate for a sense of community and hoping to rebuild her life. Now, starting a family law practice, she's finally found friends and peace - until the teen daughter of one of her clients is brutally murdered, and the girl's boyfriend stands accused.

Kelly Payne was an adored high school track star. Brian Hall is a poor boy in an affluent town, and the community is outraged. But Mia has known Brian since her arrival and can't believe he's guilty, despite strong circumstantial evidence against him. As his defense turns lackluster, she asks Grand Cove police detective Jay Colter for help. Jay is also skeptical of the police and DA's case and takes them on, especially when Mia's friend from her former Manhattan law firm uncovers a frighteningly similar murder in the city. Secretly, Jay helps Mia investigate both crimes, but his alarm grows as her life is threatened by a maniac hiding among them."

My Speculation:

All I can say is that this was one good romantic thriller suspense that will keep you turning the pages to see what was coming next in this well-written story.  What will happen when Mia Peale moves to Grand Cove, Connecticut, wanting to rebuild her life?  With Mia is still grieving from the death of her husband, she has started a family law practice.  What will happen when one of her client's daughter is killed, and her boyfriend is accused of the murder. I enjoyed how Mia was so involved in finding who this killer was in deciding to do some investigation of her own. I only wished she had taken a little better care of herself when it came to her safety and security for her home.

It was quite a read in how Mia gets help not only from a certain Grand Cove Police detective but from her friend from Manhattan, which will uncover a similar murder in that city that turns up to be very identical to this killing.  Several times I thought I knew just whom this murderer was, but I was so wrong, and it will be delivered so well to the readers toward the end.  I will say that that ending was one real thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat in how well it all will be brought out.

Be ready for some fascinating characters that really give the story one defined and well-developed story. I will say that this author did a great job with the writing of  'What You've Done.'  Yes, it was a long read [83 Chapters], but it was well worth the read, a story where everything was brought out so well in the end. Would I recommend this well-told story?  YES!

Thank you to the author for the read and my giving my honest opinion of the story.
