Dare: The 9th installment in Chloe Daniels (Chloe Daniels Mysteries) by Deidra D. S. Green

Book Description....

"Murder is not always intentional, but it’s still considered murder. Shane Budrow was out for a good time, doing something he loved, racing his 2017 candy apple red mustang. The countdown was on. The ticker showed red, then yellow, and everything paused. For Shane all background noise ceased; the crowd faded into midnight blackness and his opponent wilted into nothingness. But one moment of braggadocios behavior would change the fate of Shane Budrow and his arch rival, James Summers, forever. The question on everyone’s lips was whether the death of one of the young racers truly an accident, or was there something more?"

"Dare" by Deidra D. S. Green

My Thoughts.....

As this 9th installment in the Chloe Daniels Mysteries we get some more new characters featuring Shane Budrow and James Summers.  All that is left to say is from that race someone was left dead.  'Was this a accident or something more."  As in all of the former series this author lets us visit with a group of pass characters that will catch the reader up to some of what has now happened to them.  You will have to read the earlier series to find out more about there situations as the story continues on.  Question like...Will Drake be able to make it out of this mess he is in with Carmen?  Will Anna Black and Lenora's situation finally be found out? What about Major and Mayven...are they alive?    How was Addison able to stop what was going on in her life with that stalker? Has Addison found love with Canaan?   As for Michael and Chloe are they about to go to another level as they seem to be falling in love?  I am sure these questions and so much more will be discussed as you read through this series of  'Dare.' I guess we will have to go to the next series... Michael and Chloe: A Chloe Daniels Surprise (Chloe Daniels Mysteries Book 10) to find out what next especially for these two.

Snatched: The 8th installment in the Chloe Daniels Mystery Series (The Chloe Daniels Mysteries) by Deidra D. S. Green

Book Description....

"We’ve all seen them. The faded ribbons tied around the old oak tree. Pieces of paper stapled to a weather worn light pole, flapping in the wind, trying to get your attention. We’ve all seen a picture on the back of a milk carton, listing demographics and sometimes a reward to suggest, whoever is paying attention, someone is missing. I’m looking for this person. If you see them, would you call this number?
We’ve all seen them. Chloe Daniels and Detective Michael Phillips saw them, too. And now the epidemic of kids being snatched off the streets of Atlanta has gained national attention. The missing… A striking reminder of skeletons in Chloe’s own closet. Will the missing children of Atlanta be found? Find out in the 8th installment of the Chloe Daniels Mystery Series."

"Snatched" by Deidra D. S. Green

My Thoughts....

The 8th installment in The Chloe Daniels Mystery Series was quite a read as it deals with a 'epidemic of kids being snatch off the streets of Atlanta' and in other places.  This is hitting hard for Dr. Chloe Daniels due to what had happened in the pass to her sister.  As the story continues we find that this series will also bring in some new characters and also giving the readers some insides on what has been going on in previously in the Chloe Daniels Mysteries Series 1-7.  If you have not read this series then you may be at a loss because this author is still giving the readers a lots of important information on things that had happened from the early series.  I really enjoy the uniqueness of how this author has presented this series and I do believe it would be worth it to you the reader to read it all of the series for a full understand of what all has gone on.

All I can say about this series 'Snatched' is that it had me shaking my head to see how these children were abducted....so sad!  This was definitely one of those reads that really 'pulled at my heart strings.'  So, as I read on I see the next series is called Dare:  The 9th installment in Chloe Daniels [Chloe Daniels Mysteries].  Now I wonder what that is all about.

Blaze: The 7th installment in the Chloe Daniels Mystery Series (The Chloe Daniels Mysteries) by Deidra D. S. Green

Book Description....

"Fire… It was the common denominator…
Jeremiah was a pyromaniac, fascinated by fire. Jeremiah’s father? Died by the hands of the heated flame. Jeremiah’s mother? Suspected of igniting the blaze that killed his father. Trent Morrison III and Holly Jefferson had a son. That son was Jeremiah…
Their son was not formed in love. His existence was a constant reminder of betrayal, revenge, and deceit. Brutality birthed Jeremiah into the world; a world he desired to set ablaze.
Fans of the Twisted Sister Series will have their passions reawakened when reading, BLAZE, the 7th installment in the Chloe Daniels Mysteries."

My Thoughts.....

Another good mystery, thriller and suspenseful series.  All I have to say is to fully understand what all is or has gone on up to this seventh series I would suggest that the reader will need to start with this author's first installment of 'The Chloe Daniel Mysteries'.  This 7th series focus was on Jeremiah but there is so much more as this series continues on.  One thing is for sure one will be left wondering will Jeremiah be caught before he succeeds in burning down everything?

There were even some new as well as old characters in this series of  'Blaze' that will definitely keep you turning the pages to see who gets dealt with next.   I really enjoyed  how well this author envelopes these series so very well where they are all tying to the main story and definitely shows how well this author can write such intriguing series!    It will be even more interesting when this whole series comes together and we get to see a ending!  But until then we will just have to continue to read on to the next series to see what will go on next for all of these characters.  The next series is "Snatched" The 8th installment in the Chloe Daniels Mysteries.

Sweet Tea and Sympathy by Molly Harper

Book Description....

"Beloved author Molly Harper launches a brand-new contemporary romance series, Southern Eclectic, with this story of a big-city party planner who finds true love in a small Georgia town.

Nestled on the shore of Lake Sackett, Georgia is the McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop. (What, you have a problem with one-stop shopping?) Two McCready brothers started two separate businesses in the same building back in 1928, and now it’s become one big family affair. And true to form in small Southern towns, family business becomes everybody’s business.

Margot Cary has spent her life immersed in everything Lake Sackett is not. As an elite event planner, Margot’s rubbed elbows with the cream of Chicago society, and made elegance and glamour her business. She’s riding high until one event goes tragically, spectacularly wrong. Now she’s blackballed by the gala set and in dire need of a fresh start—and apparently the McCreadys are in need of an event planner with a tarnished reputation.

As Margot finds her footing in a town where everybody knows not only your name, but what you had for dinner last Saturday night and what you’ll wear to church on Sunday morning, she grudgingly has to admit that there are some things Lake Sackett does better than Chicago—including the dating prospects. Elementary school principal Kyle Archer is a fellow fish-out-of-water who volunteers to show Margot the picture-postcard side of Southern living. The two of them hit it off, but not everybody is happy to see an outsider snapping up one of the town's most eligible gentleman. Will Margot reel in her handsome fish, or will she have to release her latest catch?"

"Sweet Tea and Sympathy" by Molly Harper

My Thoughts.....

This was quite a interesting read with some really humorous scenes that will have you laughing out loud.  The memorable characters were all for the most part well developed, portrayed and believable that will definitely keep your attention.  What will happen when Margot's long lost family reaches out to her?  The story is about Margot Cary who was a elite event planner from Chicago but after being humiliated she leaves town and excepts a offers to working in the family business [a Bait and Mortuary business] in Lake Sackett, Georgia. It was quite a interesting read as Margot gets to know of her recovering alcoholic father that she never knew.   How will Margot do in this small town community especially after she meets Kyle [the lumberjack] who seem to have problems of his own?  Get ready for a  'fun, sweet and sexy story, family lost and found, heartbreak, mystery and some heartwarming moments.'   The characters for the most part were a complex group of individuals that could have their own story  that will definitely keep your interest as you read through this story of southern traditions.  So, if you on in for a read that deals with a 'journey of self discovery, forgiveness finding love' embracing who you are, and accepting change' then you have come to the right place for one interesting  first series.

Fever (Falling For A Rose Book 4) by Stephanie Nicole Norris

Book Description...

"Embarking on a new journey, Santana Summers wants nothing more than to enjoy her new city, new friends, and a new career. But when one of those friends is one of Chicago's most eligible bachelors, Santana finds herself getting more than she ever bargained for.

Being the youngest of seven brothers, Josiah Alexander Rose is the quintessential playboy. He is not interested in settling down until his father gives him a proposition he cannot refuse. It's the opportunity of a lifetime, but to execute it, dear old dad wants Josiah to settle down, show some responsibility and gain a wife. Josiah thinks the idea is absurd until he and Santana come up with a plan that just may land Josiah that coveted position.

It is the perfect solution, and things go well until what was intended to be an arrangement turns into many nights of unabashed passion. With each growing day, emotions mix, and the lines of the pretentious and reality are blurred. Will Santana be foolish enough to hand over her heart to Josiah? Is Josiah willing to risk it all for her? Read with me and find out if Josiah and Santana's plan will backfire or become the best thing that ever happened to them in Fever, Falling For A Rose, Book Four.

The Falling for a Rose series follows each member of the Rose family as they explore this thing called love. However, each book is just as enjoyable if read as a standalone as it is if read in the series order."

My Thoughts...
This was another fantastic series ...' Falling For A Rose Book 4' that dealt with Josiah and Santana, where you will be kept on the edge of your seat, turning the pages to see what was coming next.

From the last series, we can see these two characters becoming interested in each other, but how far will this go for them.  I liked how this author was able to put together another well-written read about the 'Rose' brothers.  Will these two be able to pull off this fake boyfriend/girlfriend to there friends?  What will happen in the end as these two have totally changed their mind of how it had been planned in the beginning [to make his father happy] had certainly changed and definitely not the way they truly felt about each other now.  Had Josiah truly fallen in love with Santana?   Had Santana truly fallen in love with Josiah?  I loved the wedding in how it all comes out.  So, will these two finally get their HEA?  You will have to pick up "Fever" to see it!

My Thoughts....

If you are looking for a hot and steamy romantic read then this author will bring it all to you from the drama 'sensual intense, hot and erotic love scenes, heartbreaking' all the way to the romantic side of it all.'  This author gives the readers something to think about long after the read as it was for Jonathan and Lena..BWWM.  There will be so much going on that you will have to keep up.  Definitely Lena had a lots going on with herself as she had just come out of a horrible relationship and now this one was certainly a new one for her...not only dating her boss that involved cultural differences  but....well this is where I say you will just have to pick up "White Male" and see for yourself how it will all turn out. Yes, at time Lena did get on my nerves with all of her insecurities but after thinking about it in the end I could see her point of reasoning. Will Lena ever be able to let her pass go and stand up with the man that loved her so dearly?  Will Lena and Jonathan be able to 'rise up and fight for what they want and forget out the outside forces' that were around them and get to their HEA?'
Well, open up this novel and continue reading to see if Jonathan gets what he wants in the end!  If you are looking for a good story full of intensed but yet beautiful....I would recommend this one for you.

This was quite a interesting read that this author presents as we are presented with Channing and Kemara that dealt with 'race and love.' Being presented with racism and the way it was showed in this read was really something as we see how these two will work it all out.  How will Kemara be able to take this all in after she finds out about Channing's background?  I liked would this character was able to know just what was right and wrong.  This story really shows that even though one may be born to a racist family there can be a change if it is desired.  Will these two be able to 'look deep within themselves and find love?'  This story really shows that even in our world today 'hate and bigotry' still can be found.  In the end will love trump hate?  Well, to find out about this story you will have to pick up this very good read of  'Dangerous Bonds' to see how well this author gives the reader a very well written story of just what happened in such a situation as it was was Channing and Kemara.

My Thoughts....

All I will say is that this author really knows how to keep the reader in suspense in this 'magical realism, paranormal and  supernatural read.  It was quite interesting seeing Alexa Wainwright born [Gladys Lipschitz] as she 'soared to the number one  bestsellers list and became an international sensation.'

What will Alexa have to do remain on high as 'she vows to do whatever it takes to attain the heady ego-stroking success of her debut? '  Now this is where this story will take a switch as the character Alexa realizes that 'this vow will be tested as she's magically transported to a alternate reality.'

I liked how this author was able to present such a unique magic, paranormal and supernatural read that will keep you on pins and needles taking this read all in.  The characters were all so well developed, portrayed and delivered to the reader. There are a lots of questions that are needed to be answered .... such as ..how will Alexa make it in this world that is so full of loopholes [especially after 'she finds herself in this iron-clad book contract that even changes its wording on her novels?'  All of this happens  after she becomes involved with the publisher King Blakemore... signing a contract Alexa doesn't even remember and why were the people Alexa meets seemed to come right from her novels?  How and why was King Blakemore able to do all the things he was doing to Alexa?  What was Evangelina and Kips play in all of this so important to this read?   Who was in the tale that was truly a big help to Alexa  in understanding her background and why was this so very important in this read?   What will happen as Alexa finds herself into a situation she sees no way out of?  What all will come of this reveal as Alexa gets 'a second chance to save herself from eternity with Blakemore and be free?' Now, to finds all of the answers to these questions and so much more in this well written story you will just have to pick up and read "When a Stranger Comes" and see how it is presented and comes out.

In the end after being given a second chance will Alexa to get it right this time will she be able to make a more a more sensible choice or will she make the same mistake again by going after the money?  Well, as this story end at least Alexa has someone new in her life...her dog Trinity who definitely seems to care for her especially after coming back to reality[or was it?] and also having her mom and Margaret back in her life after all is said and done.  What was now going on with Alexa's publishing company that had been sold to Blakemore Media head by CEO King Blakemore and the email that was sent saying "Enjoy your second chance. Make wise choices in this rewrite of your life, milaya moyna." Will Alexa be done with her 'Darkside Trilogy?' Again, to know what this story is all about you will have to pick up "When a Stranger Comes" and would definitely recommend as a good read.

My Thoughts....

This was quite a good holiday story that involved two divorced parents and their children.  I liked how this author brings Sydney Ragsdale and Kevin [Mac] Alea together in this wonderful Christmas magical read that is fulled with 'love and hopefulness.'

We find from the story that after an very unexpected divorce Sydney moves from Atlanta to Hopewell, North Carolina with her daughter where her grandparents had left her  their farm house to get away from it all ... a controlling ex and some ex friends.  Hopefully Sydney plan to start a new live there in Hopewell.

As you read through this well written story one will find the characters so very relatable as well as realistic giving you a good senseable read. Will these two people [Sydney & Mac] be able to get  just what they needed as they find there way around  Hopewell N.C?  This author brings out a interesting point of what can happen when there is a divorce ex  and who is left hurt and abandon  when a marriage is dissolved...the child.  In this case the children were  Ray Anne & Seth.  Be ready for a lots of action, surprises, drama, trust issues, fun, hope, love, sadness and even laughter, and Christmas cheer  as the story continues to the end.  What will happen when Sydney starts working for Bea over the holidays? What was so special about this book store?  Who will she met?  What was it about Mac. divorced, who was teacher at the local HS, baseball coach and during the holidays would dress up as Santa in that interested Sydney?  Will their be sparks between Sydney and Mac as they go some some series of non-dates?  Will these two lost souls who had been wounded be able to find healing?  Will Sydney be able to trust again after that ordeal with her ex?  To get all of these questions answered you will have to pick up "Hope at Christmas" and see how this author will bring it all out for you.

By the end the reader will get a good heart-warming holiday story of ' love, hope and second chances' and YES, a ending with a wonderful HEA.

Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe by Melissa de la Cruz

Book Description...

"Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe from New York Times bestselling author, Melissa de la Cruz, is a sweet, sexy and hilarious gender-swapping, genre-satisfying re-telling, set in contemporary America and featuring one snooty Miss Darcy.
Darcy Fitzwilliam is 29, beautiful, successful, and brilliant. She dates hedge funders and basketball stars and is never without her three cellphones—one for work, one for play, and one to throw at her assistant (just kidding). Darcy’s never fallen in love, never has time for anyone else’s drama, and never goes home for Christmas if she can help it. But when her mother falls ill, she comes home to Pemberley, Ohio, to spend the season with her family.
Her parents throw their annual Christmas bash, where she meets one Luke Bennet, the smart, sardonic slacker son of their neighbor. Luke is 32-years-old and has never left home. He’s a carpenter and makes beautiful furniture, and is content with his simple life. He comes from a family of five brothers, each one less ambitious than the other. When Darcy and Luke fall into bed after too many eggnogs, Darcy thinks it’s just another one night stand. But why can’t she stop thinking of Luke? What is it about him? And can she fall in love, or will her pride and his prejudice against big-city girls stand in their way?"

My Thoughts...

If you are looking for a 'feel good' quick read for the holiday you may like this one by this author focusing on Darcy Fitzwilliam and Luke Bennet.  We find that a lots will happen as Darcy returns home for the holiday after her mother has had a heart attack.  Darcy was quite a successful woman however she also had a life that was full of insecurities.  I enjoyed how this author was able to deliver a modernized retelling of 'Pride and Prejudice' and let's not leave out the Mistletoe where there will be a 'complete flip of characters.'  What will happen when one of the richest women who doesn't have time for nothing but work...comes home after been gone for eight years, having to deal with her strained relationship with her father, mother's illness and having to attend her parents's yearly Christmas party? Will a lots of the events that take place in this story set off some events from the past that seem to collide with Darcy's future?   What will happen when Darcy meets up with Luke Bennet...the carpenter?  What happens when Darcy begins to think that maybe living the simple life would be better than the one she now has?  Now to get all of these questions answered and so much more you will have to pick up this novel [Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe] and understand that its a spin off/flip of the original 'Pride and Prejudice,' a Jane Austen Classic however, this will be a quite a different story that is full of  twist and turns, 'lightheartedness, self discovery and second chances.'

"Deck The Halls" by Donna Alward

My Thoughts.....

A well thought out contemporary romantic novella that is part of 'The Darling, VT series with some undercurrent of personal struggles. What a story this was as it presented 'the tough subject of veterans and what could happen when they return home only to have to live with the horrors what had happened will they were away serving our country.' This is definitely one of those stories that will touch ones heart. I liked how this author was able to get George who was a 'wonderful, gentle, proud man who had fought for his country, lost everything suffering from PTSD had finally been given a second chance.  What will happen as the twin sister of his best friend [Ian] Amy Merck arrives and reawakens old bad feelings that had been so close to him? For George had blamed himself for years over Ian's death. Will these two [George & Amy] be able to finds some degree of closures and be able to help one another?  With each other needing so much healing you will have to pick up "Deck The Halls' to see how this heartwarming emotional novella that will put you in a holiday seasonal mood.

My Synopsis....

I really liked this sequel that continued on featuring Brishen, Ildiko, Anhuset and a some more characters [Wraith Kings] with their own personalities that will keep you turning the pages  with this author giving the reader a well developed written tale about the world of the Kai. The story did indeed keep me enthralled as the reader will see what Brishen does in order to try to save his people that could possibly cost him his life.  Be ready for a story that will have a little bit of it all which features a "world ending struggle, ongoing tale of romance, emotional rollercoaster, magic, fantasy, loyalty, sacrifice, friendship and honor. along with suspense, political intrigue and the impossible mission to save the world."  I will say you really should read the first 'Wraith Kings, book 1 in Radiance" to truly enjoy this fabulous second book 2 "Eidolon" that will give the reader a captivating read at its fullest in tragedy and triumph.

"His Convenient Husband" by Robin Covington

My Thoughts....

I found this novel a very interesting well written read that definitely kept my attention all the way till the end.  I found the main characters...Isaiah, Victor and Evan and Ian some very intriguing, well developed and believable giving the readers one good story.  Was this a gay read?  Yes! With the two main characters Isaiah [football player] and Victor [ballet dancer] both being from two different backgrounds it was quite interesting in how this author was able to give the readers a story that did connect quite well and bringing the son [Evan] into the picture really helped bring this story altogether.  Even though this was the second marriage for Isaiah [after having losing his former husband Stephen from a accident] will he be able to leave the past behind and start a new one with his new husband? Will Isaiah began to love again?   I will say that I didn't really care very much for Isaiah until toward the end where it seems like after a certain incident that involved his son maybe he got some sense in what was really happening in this whole situation.  Now, I don't want to spoil it ...just saying you will have to pick up this novel and see for yourself what all it is about and how this author will bring it all out in the end. I felt that this was a enjoyable story that in the end you will find out if these two will get their HEA.

"The Christmas Room" by Catherine Anderson

My Thoughts....

I found this a good novella Christmas story that touches on a little bit of it all....from 'grief, trials and tribulations of a single parent, finding a love connection, moving to a new state, with secrets, physical violence,  name calling, lack of understanding, healing, redemption' and it did have some heart warming moments. This author gives the reader a wonderful story that was even humorous at times, with touching moments with interesting characters from [Maddie, Cameron (Cam}, Caleb McLendon, Sam and  Kristin Conacher to name a few that will definitely keep your attention all the way through this beautiful description of Christmas Montana story.   Be ready for a long story of this well blended family where the reader will be able to read about this 'dual love story of two different generations' with the best of it all ... it all happens around the Christmas holiday.  All that is left to say is that this was really a fantastic story of families and their relationships in how this author brings it all together so well after all is said and done.

"Mind Games" by Stevie Turner

My Thoughts.....

After a 35 year marriage it looks like this wife has had enough of her husbands addiction to porn and want a divorce.  Now, to fully understand what has gone on with this husband you will just have to pick up "Mind Games" to see how this author presents it to the reader.  As I was reading this story I am not sure who I felt more sorrier for  Frances or Martin.  Definitely there was help that was needed by both but it didn't seem like anyone really wanted it.  Martin claim to have quite this addiction but soon we will find out from the read really was that true?  I could feel Frances need to not want to grow old along but to want to get back with Martin really had me shaking my head and saying REALLY!  As for Martin well I can will say is He Really Needed Some Help!  This story really left me thinking wow!  I will stop now and just stay you will have to pick this one up.  Will these two ever get back to that HEA that they seemed to have had at the beginning of their marriage?  Well, all I will say is wow...Martin certainly think he has it all figured out. But anyone is has an addiction to pornography will definitely need to help.  Now, since Martin tell Frances that he is though with porn and she seems to believe it!  What will happen if Frances finds out really what Martin is hiding and still is up to.  As the story stops here, hopefully Frances will still have her apartment still there for her to return to.  She just may need it!

My Thoughts....

This author gives the ready quite a interesting story in "A Season of You" [the second in this series] who dealt with Mina Harper who had lot her father and her husband. How will Will Fraser play in all of this?  Well, he had be very fond of Mina from afar for five years, however, she was married so that was that.  Now, that things were different would Mina ever be interested in Will who owned a whiskey distillery and bar with his brother and since the death of Mina's father and husband had been due to alcohol related causes. Would Mina [the widow] be able to get pass that?  However, after a accident would Mina be able to see things different and overcome this apprehension that she had regarded of Will's career?  Be ready for a little of  'drama, humor, second chances, love, spice and holiday hope.'  Will Will be able to win Mina's heart during this holiday season in this good story of 'overcoming ones fear and allowing one to love once again?'  To find out all of the answers to these questions you will have to pick up "A Season of You" to see how well this author brings it out so well to the readers in this Christmas novel.

Christmas at Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer

Book Description.....

"The best gift of all is the one you share with someone else. . .

From the moment he strode through the iron gate and into the offices of Two Love Lane on a crisp December day, it was obvious that Deacon Banks was something different. He wasn't a Charleston native, not with that adorable Yankee accent. And unlike the usual client at the elegant matchmaking agency, he had no interest in finding a woman to marry--just a few no-strings dates while he was in town.

Macy Frost takes her professional services very seriously--how could she not, when she's rumored to be a direct descendant of Cupid? Tech entrepreneur Deacon says he's just trying to make his social-climbing aunt happy by being seen out and about with a few prominent beauties, but Macy insists she can make her client fall in love...for real. And Deacon can't help but think she might be right. As charming as the palmetto trees and magnificent harbor may be, it's the beautiful, breath-of-fresh-air Macy who's become Deacon's favorite part of the scenery. But can the hopelessly romantic Southern belle stop trying to fix him up and just let Cupid do his work on her own heart?"

"Christmas At Two Love Lane" by Kieran Kramer

My Thoughts...

This was a good lovely seasonal/holiday romantic read that even had  little bit of comedy in it.  I loved the Charleston setting for this read that this author brought out so very well.  The two main characters well just let me say were 'phenomenal.'  Definitely matchmaker Macy really meets her match when introduced to that bachelor Deacon. With Macy being in the business of matchmaking will Deacon find the date that will make his Aunt happy?  Will it take the whole town to help Macy see that she too was capable to being loved?

The author really works the story is presented with so much 'drama, humor, spice, touching, flirting and let's not leave out all of this seasonal holiday happening'  along with a wonderful dialogue that will keep one turning the pages to see what will happen next. So, if you are looking for a good holiday read I would definitely recommend this one to you.
