Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton by Susannah B. Lewis

Book Excerpt:

"Sometimes what your life is missing is an eccentric group of older ladies to take you under their wing . . .

When Raeley Ann Sutton's mama passes away and leaves her the house where she grew up, Rae can't imagine how the little old place might restore her broken life. So, mourning the recent loss of her marriage, she takes the house and settles back in tiny, "one-horse Whitten" with her fourteen-year-old daughter, Molly Margaret, and their overweight dog.

There she's embraced by her mother's close-knit circle of friends, the Third Thursday ladies: Mrs. Fannie, Mrs. Dora, and Aunt Maxine. Though almost half their age and far less confident of positive outcomes, Rae joins their ministry-slash-book-club-slash-gossip circle and allows the women to speak wry honesty and witty humor into her tired heart. As a new career and a new romance bring their own complications, Rae relies on the unlikely family she's found and begins to wonder if her future holds more hope than she ever could have imagined.

Known for her heartwarming stories and genuine Southern voice, Susannah B. Lewis dazzles with her latest novel, women strengthening women.

"Settle in for an enchanting tale featuring a delightful cast of characters. At turns humorous and heart-wrenching, Lewis's novel delivers on themes of forgiveness and restoration. Wise, witty, and full of Southern charm, Bless Your Heart, Rea Sutton is as refreshing as a tall glass of sweet tea on a hot summer day!" —Denise Hunter, bestselling author of the Riverbend Romances.

"Bless Your Heart. Rae Sutton" by Susannah B. Lewis

My Assessment:

'Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton' was a wonderful read showing loss, grief, divorce, healing, love, forgiveness, redemption, and hope. The story was well-written in a small-town setting with adorable characters that presented so much to the story, especially Rae Sutton, who had lost her mother due to cancer. Rae had also gone through a divorce and was raising her daughter Molly. After her mother's death, Rae decides to move back to her hometown of Whitten and chooses to live in her mother's home that had been left to her by her mother. Along with all that had gone on with Rea, she developed strong friendships with three elderly ladies [Mrs. Fannie, Mrs. Dora, and Aunt Maxine] were Rae's mother's best friends who met every third Thursday. These three ladies would meet once a month for what they called their ministry, which consisted of 'sending out get well cards, flowers, while they discuss what was going on in their town, their arguing and prayers for family and friends.' In addition, they provided some comic relief with their antics. So how did this help Rae? Well, at this time, there was a need for Rae as she was healing from a divorce and grieving the loss of her dear mother. As Rae decides to fix up the house and start going to church, what will happen? What brought me to tears were the letters Rae's mother left for her. There was also seemingly a second chance romance with another love interest that you will have to pick up this good read to see how all of that will turn out for Rae.

All in all, 'Bless Your Heart' was a captivating story that will keep one turning the pages till the end, giving one thought to ponder over long after the read.

Thank you for the free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are my own.

Book Description....

England, 1851: When Clara Chapman receives an intriguing invitation to spend Christmas at an English manor home, she is hesitant yet feels compelled to attend—for if she remains the duration of the twelve-day celebration, she is promised a sum of one thousand pounds.

But is she walking into danger? It appears so, especially when she comes face to face with one of the other guests—her former fiancĂ©, Benjamin Lane.

Imprisoned unjustly, Ben wants revenge on whoever stole his honor. When he’s given the chance to gain his freedom, he jumps at it—and is faced with the anger of the woman he stood up at the altar. Brought together under mysterious circumstances, Clara and Ben discover that what they’ve been striving for isn’t what ultimately matters.

What matters most is what Christmas is all about . . . love.

Pour a cup of tea and settle in for Book 1 of the Once Upon a Dickens Christmas series--a page-turning Victorian-era holiday tale--by Michelle Griep, a reader and critic favorite."

"12 Day at Bleakly Manor" by Michelle Griep

My Thoughts.....

This was quite a interesting story of Christian historical romance and mystery during 1850's holidays in England.  I liked how this author brings to the readers some really intriguing characters during the '12 Days at Bleakly Manor' that had a particular reason for being at this location. Be ready for a fast paced, fun, quirky read with a Gothic and mysterious setting with some great descriptions given and even a little bite of danger.

What happens when Clara Chapman who was once from a well to do family, rejected by her father and later by her fiance now found to be poor living with her Aunt Deborha receives a cyptic  invitation?

"The Twelve Days of Christmas
As never's been reveled
Your presence, Miss Chapman,
Is respectfully hearld.
Bleakly Manor's the place
And after twelve nights
Five hundred pounds
Will be yours by rights."

Who was Benjamin Lane who had been in prison for stealing and is to be deportation to a labor camp from another country.  Now what on earth does he have to do with all or this?  Well, as the reader continues to read we find that Benjamin believes he was been betrayed by someone he once had loved and that he was also innocent of all of this mess he had been accused of.  What will happen when he receives the same invitation to Bleakly Manor that 10 others had received?   Now, what will Ben be promised?

Will Clara and Ben [the two main characters] who had some huge misunderstandings be able to work through it all out just be able to come to a better understanding of it all?

I enjoyed how this author was able to bring in the Christian elements [with trust and faith elements] in this very realistic story that will keep you turning the pages to see what was coming next in this story that was of  'second chances and choosing between revenge ad forgiveness.'  I did notice that the '12 day of Bleakly Manor 'started on December 24th  and ending January 5, 1851 which I thought was somewhat strange but as I was reading I get this  idea from the author was done for a particular reason.

This was quite a interesting story after all is said and done.  To find all of the answers to the above questions and so  much more you will have to pick up this good read that has so many twist to see it's a good story of second chances and redeemed love. This is definitely one of those stories that will keep one guessing until the very end!  Even though this novel is around Christmas holiday, I found that it's the kind of read that  one can be read at any time of the year.

Our Short History By Lauren Grodstein

Book Description....

"Karen Neulander, a successful New York political consultant, has always been fiercely protective of her son, Jacob, now six. She’s had to be: when Jacob’s father, Dave, found out Karen was pregnant and made it clear that fatherhood wasn’t in his plans, Karen walked out of the relationship, never telling Dave her intention was to raise their child alone.

But now Jake is asking to meet his dad, and with good reason: Karen is dying. When she finally calls her ex, she’s shocked to find Dave ecstatic about the son he never knew he had. First, he can’t meet Jake fast enough, and then, he can’t seem to leave him alone.

With just a few more months to live, Karen resists allowing Dave to insinuate himself into Jake’s life. As she tries to play out her last days in the “right” way, Karen wrestles with the truth that the only thing she cannot bring herself to do for her son--let his father become a permanent part of his life--is the thing he needs from her the most. With heart-wrenching poignancy, unexpected wit, and mordant humor, Lauren Grodstein has created an unforgettable story about parenthood, sacrifice, and life itself."

"Our Short History" by Lauren Grodstein

My Thoughts....

"Our Short History" really deals with a subject that is somewhat hard to talk about...dying.  This author does a very good job in presenting this mesmerizing, hear wrenching told story. What will a mother do when she finds out that she doesn't have long to live [fighting stage IV ovarian cancer] and she has a son who was just six year old.  Karen writes a book for her son who was just six year old to be read by his older self.   This was definitely one of those 'tearjerker' reads.

What will happen when Jake ask hims mother to find his dad?  Now Jake wants to meet his father which presents problems for the mother,  Karen.  What will she do because there is a history that did not turn out well between Karen and Jake's father?  Will her sister still be able to take care of Jake as it had been planned now that the father has come into the picture.  This is a very emotional read that will give the reader quite one complicated relationships with all of these characters: from Karen, Jake, Jake's father [Dave] and Karen's sister. Now, I did say that this is sad story however, do be ready for a little humor at times, very absorbing and so memorable and even thought provoking in this mother-son relationship.

This author really gives the reader one beautifully well written story that is so very raw as her son 'resonates and Karen's bravery in facing her illness is so very admirable.  With that all I can say is that this story "Our Short History" was one story that I will not forget anytime soon.   I will say after all that had gone with between Karen and her ex boyfriend [Dave], her illness and her life she had not chosen for herself I could definitely  understand why she felt the way she did about this whole situation.  In the end we see that this wasn't about the 'life Karen had given her son but the live he had given her.'

"Zaccaro: A Stepbrother Romance  by Amarie Avant

My Thoughts....

This was quite a rewrite from the first version 'Secrets She Keeps.'  The reader is given a suspenseful romantic read about Reese and Evan that will keep you turning the pages seeing how this kinship will turns out. Will their be a instant attraction when Evan meets Reese while he is on  stakeout? Will the one night of passion lead to many more?   In the end will this detective get his target before all of the secrets start coming out? The characters were all for the most post over the chart being well developed, defined and believable.  One character I wasn't able to get like at all was Reese's mom [Lolita] but I guess that's life for many people especially in the  how horrible way she acted toward her daughter.  With there being so many elements to the read you will have to  pick "Zaccaro" up and read for yourself how well this author delivers it to the reader. I will say the second version really explains it all so very well and seeing whether Reese and Evan will ever make it to their HEA was a joy to read.

"The Idea Of You" by Amanda Prowse

My View:

A good read that covered 'parenthood and family.'  The author gives the reader quite a story that dealt with Lucy, Jonah[newly married] and Camille who was her step-daughter[coming to live with them].  But for some reason or another Camille took a instant dislike toward Lucy.  Now, why was that?   I found this read very tear grabbing with all that came out of this very intriguing emotional read.  The characters were developed  but also complex and complicated with human needs and wants. The author brings all of this out in such a unique way giving the reader such a heartbreaking read that you could feel as you are drawn into this emotional story. Will this marriage be able to stand against all of the trauma that they were going through especially with Lucy wanted most of all to become a mom?   From the letters from Lucy's POV being full of emotions and then finding out what was the reason for them being presented was so very important and the up and down of feelings were so very important in this read.  How was Lucy's relationship with her mom and sister? Were these insecurities and conflicts normal for Lucy and Camille?   Yes, there  was heartbreak with devastating effects of the ultimate loss, but also there was  'love, hope, courage and family.'  I found that this author delivers to the reader not only the right characters to deliver such a important story but also does a wonderful job at giving the readers the right words that could only help one truly understand just what one goes through at a time like this. What will happen as this family has problems with 'anger, guilt, pain, and past secrets that will come out ['is what they don't have worth risking losing what they do have?']
and threaten all that this marriage as been built on?  This is where I say you will have to pick up this emotional and challenging "The Idea Of You" to see how well this author presents it all out to the reader to see what Lucy gets as the end. This author really works this story so well with covering the subjects:  'miscarriage, [suffered a loss or infertility], teen pregnancy and relationship breakups.'

By the end the reader will gets a 'poignant love story that carries hope, love and forgiveness for all if it can only be accepted' as this love grows ever so stronger as it is given and received so freely.  This is definitely a wonderful story of the ray of hope, happiness and love that needs to be heard every single day!

Thank you to Netgalley, lake union publishing and Amanda Prowse for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review. This novel was well done by this author!

"Searching for Ever Land" by Karen Sloan-Brown

My Thoughts.....

Now this was one of those reads that will definitely keep your attention.  Keeping up with Portia Roberts who 'struggle to recover from a tragedy that cause separation from her husband.'  I found this read quite a interesting one as this author lets the reader see deep into Portia's life.  In doing so we are able to see deep into  her mind as she seeks release using a drug called propofol, Now this is quite a story of how Portia hears about this drug...from the death of 'Michael Jackson.'  Was this what he had used that ending his life?  Well, it seems that after the death of her son Nickolas and with her husband leaving her she had a horrible time sleeping and after hearing about propofol Portia was left wondering about its experience she would having in taking it. This story will get real deep presenting the reader with what all Portia did in order to get this drug.  Would you believe she even left her investment job for a job working  in a hospital in order to meet the right doctor who could possible get this drug for her?  Well, we get quite a story of how Portia meet up with Keith, David and George. From those three characters we get quite a intriguing story. Take my word each one had their own story to tell.  Will Portia be able to get this drug and if she does what affect will all of this have that will affect on her life [with her daughter, husband and even her sister]. Will  a therapist be able to understand what in the world is going on with Portia?  Well, I don't want to tell too much more other than saying as the story goes on as  her husband will reenter back into the picture after two and a half years that will present some other tensions into this messy story that leads to a divorce.  I found all of the characters well developed, portrayed and very believable giving the reader one interesting page turner of a read.

The author did a wonderful job in presenting this story to the reader.  I was able to learn quite a bit about the drug 'propofol' through this read.

Being able to zoom out of your mind and see past images, present, future and to have sweet dreams but I know again this is quite a dangerous thing to do. What one will go through to seek relieve in ones life  but in the end will they have the happiness and the release they need?  Will this be enough for Portia as the read will show what she will do in the end?  Even though Portia  thought this would be her last time using this drug if it wasn't for that nosy neighbor....well you will just have to pick this one up to see for yourself as Portia "Searches for Ever Land." will she finally get that HEA?   I did feel that the ending was rather rushed but interesting where the reader will get  one  'dramatic, sexy, funny story that is full of surprises that will keep your attention.

I wanted to add that the book cover is simply beautiful and Thank You to the author for the gift of "Searching for Ever Land" for me giving my honest opinion of the read.

Always a Bridesmaid By: Karen Sloan-Brown

Book Description....

"Tia King knows she's a "total package," attractive, trustworthy, personable, a great cook, and educated, only one semester away from earning her Ph.D. But like Billy Dee Williams said in the movie, Mahogany, "Success is nothing without someone you love to share it with!" "Always a Bridesmaid" by Karen Sloan-Brown

My Thoughts....

This young lady Tia Annette King had several goals in her mind but will she be able to get that 'total package' that she so dearly wanted.  Being a educated woman with a Ph. D. from Tennessee State University, surely getting a job wouldn't be a problem for her...or would it?  Also after being a bridesmaid so often in her girlfriends weddings, surely she would find 'the man of her dreams.' Or was that to be for Dr. Tia King?  Truly having boy friends had never seemed to be a problem for Tia even though she was a little on the heavy side, but it seemed like it never got passed that step [boyfriend] for her.  Now, why was this?  Let see...it has been truly a journey for Tia with all of the boyfriends she had in her lifetime and she was in her thirty's and definitely wanted more out of life.  Let's travel through a few of Ms. Tia's guy friends...now their was Wayne, Tim [her first serious boyfriend], Charles, Reggie, Tony, Curtis, Gary, Jason [just friend], Stephen, Kevin, Earnest, [Randy, Earl, Darnell...from online] and finally Michael [I hope I didn't leave anyone out]! Now, I can only say you will have to read this well written story to see for yourself just how particular Tia was in finally landing someone who 'was tall, dark, handsome, employed, educated, trustworthy, dependable, and sexually attracted to her.'  I definitely have to mention that Tia had several girlfriends that were wonderful [Yvonne, Denise] however, one friend that truly stood out [Jazz] who was their with her along this long tedious journey of being their for her in the midst of it all.  I would say I only wished for such a person in my life [a true friend]. That may not make a whole lot of sense but it does to me and I am sure the reader will see this thought pattern also as you read through from this wonderful novel. It was quite interesting as this author brings it all out to just why Tia's relationships had never lasted.  I will close now and only say Wow...what a read!  You will have to keep up because this author gives the reader a lot to absorb...from a ailing mother to a daughter finally 'listening to her Pastor..."Let the man find you, and don't go chasing every Tim, James and Larry."  So, will Dr. Tia Annette King finally get her HEA?  You will just have to pick up the read to see for yourself!

Thank you to the author for the gift of the novel for me giving my honest opinion of "Always a Bridesmaid."

My Thoughts...

What a ending to a series...Trouble in Paradise Book 4 "Until My Last Breath" was one read that will keep you turning the pages because this author really brings it all out and even gives the reader a nice ending considering all that has happened in the different series.  I will say to truly understand all of what all has gone on you I would definitely recommend that read the other three series in order.  I have read all of them and also reviewed them so I went back and re read my reviews...and that did help me in understand what was going on in this present series.  Wow, it was quite a interesting read it was to see if Victoria will get out of the mess she has gotten herself in with Greg, Caroline's husband. Now, we find Victoria in trouble due to Caroline and her friend Alexis.  It was also quite interesting seeing Joshua involvement with this situation along with Dante, Shay and I don't want to leave out January. Danielle and oh yes Brandon who comes into the picture.  How do all of these people fit into this series? Each of these characters definitely have their own story that will leave you shaking your head and saying REALLY!  Now, I don't want to tell you the story other than to say you will have to pick this good read up because it is a one urban fiction that has a little bit of it all in it. When you think you have it figured out some other new drama comes up.  One thing I will say is that I didn't care for that Greg and his wife.  I simply could not figure out what Greg was up to.  Truly that ending that involved Greg was creepy and his wife Caroline was weird. Another character that gave me cause not to like was Joshua especially how his handled....  And that ending for Alexis was ....well I will just stop here and say it was intriguing reading about Victoria, Joshua along with Shay and Dante. Hopefully, they will ALL finally get their HEA...well I guess we can only wish!

My Thoughts....

Now this was quite some fantasy read.  I would imagine  this one mounts right up there with some men who have cheated and have been thought of as mire dogs in one way or another. However,  this 'Spanish witch' takes it to another level. Now, why was that?  It looks like  Jack and his friend Charlie have been 'womanizing' so much that someone was definitely fed up and what better way than to put a stop to it by turning them into ..well this is where I don't want to give too much away other than to say you must pick this one up for yourself because it had me smiling all the way through the read.  I will say that this author really has a amagination in how the story was put together to give the reader quite one interesting read.  In the end will Jack finally have a better view of how he wants his life after be meets the woman who had adopted him before he turned back to a ? Will they be able to get together for a HFN ending?

My Thoughts...

First of all I would like to say 'Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an exchange of this book for an honest review.'  I will say this was quite a hard read and even though it looks like everything did turn out OK it was still a difficult emotional read for me that dealt with what can happen with embryo donation.  This story will involve: 'post natal depression, fertility issues including IVF, embryo adoption, religious issues, with ethical legal and oral issues, death, suicide thoughts,  that will be a issue to all of the one's involved.'  See, we have two families that will be using this IVF and wow what will happen from the aftermath of their choices they make.  Be ready for many 'manipulation, twist and turns, secrets and lies' that will have you shaking your head and saying  REALLY...I definitely didn't see that coming!

What we have are two women who will be connected by an embryo,  Be ready for some interesting characters [Catriona, James, Diana & Liam] to name a few  that will keep you turning the pages till the end. I found it  all quite interesting read how this author was able to merge these two couples together with each having their own set of problems. I also loved how this author was able to bring out what a person can go through when suffering through post-partum psychosis.

I don't want to tell too much of this well written and intriguing plot with an exceptional epilogue  other than saying please pick up the read and see for yourself how well this novel has been presented to see who will get Noah in the end.  I would definitely recommend "Claiming Noah" to you as a good read.

"Samantha Posey:  Love Unfolded" by Shantee' A. Parks

My Thoughts...

I will say this was one read that kept me shaking my head because it seems to go on and on and then at the end we find it is a cliffhanger... the reader will have to get book 2 to get the remainder of Samantha and Jacob's story. I will say that this author really knows how to write some erotic sex scenes that will be in most of the chapters. I will say this was uniquely done and left me saying wow!  Be ready for a story of  'love, lies, betrayal, mystery and yes even murder, loss of action, suspense and romance.'

I will say this novel has some very interesting characters especially the secondary ones [Nicki, Adam & Todd] that I found rather defined and well portrayed in this story line.  The hero and heroine both at times will work ones last nerve with all of their bantering back and forth.  This was definitely not one of those predictable stories because  there is so many twist and turns but one thing is for sure and that is their love making!  Will Samantha and Jacob have their HEA when it is all said and done?  Will they be able to get pass this 'invisible bond' that they seem to have for each other?  Well no matter what the odds or conflict that comes  to Samantha and Jacob it seems certain their loves seems to conquer all....or will it?  To get these answers and so much more you will have to pick up  'Samantha Posey Love Series Book 2' to get the rest of the story.

My Thoughts...

I enjoyed this duet love story with one being about Clara and Giovanni and the other one featuring
Honor[Honey] and Rip.  Both of the stories contained some 'love, action, honor, hot sexy scenes, suspense, trust, tragedy and so much more.'  The characters were all very defined, well portrayed and believable giving you a well written  descriptive captivating story with a good plot that will keep your total attention.  This is one of those stories especially the second one had so many twist and turns that you will have to keep up with it all.  In the end will Honor be able to save her sister and  there be 'poetic justice' served?  If you are into mafia reads the I definitely would recommend this one to you.

"Lagniappe" by Brian W. Smith

My Thoughts....

Wow, this is what did happen when four military friends [Nick, Derek, Carmelo and Hamilton] take a trip 'down memory lane'...a reunion to New Orleans.  Yes, this will be two nights of fun but who would have ever thought that taking a trip down memory lane may not have been the best route to have gone on for these friends.  What will happen when 'secrets' start to come out that will change their lives forever?

What is going on with Nick Drummond [his wife Gabrielle], Hamilton Porter and Nick, Derek Hanson and Carmelo Kingston [his wife Janet]....and how do these people all tie into each other?

Well, you will just have to pick up 'Lagniappe' and see for yourself how well this author presents it all to you in this twist of a read that will definitely give you a 'jaw-dropping ending! This is definitely one of those reads that will cause you to think about it long after the read.  Would I recommend? YES!

Multiple Listing By: Tracy McMillan

Book Description...

"What would you do if your ex-con father suddenly came to visit…indefinitely? Family drama ensues when Nicki’s dad unexpectedly moves in with her, her son, and her boyfriend in this comedic novel from successful TV writer Tracy McMillan.

Nicki Daniels owns a home appraisal business, but real estate is her true passion: she lives for open houses and really knows her way around a floor plan. And especially at this juncture of her life, real estate has come to signify the stability she is trying to build with her teenage son, Cody, and her much younger boyfriend, Jake. She’s finally ready to find the perfect house for the three of them and work on a new business venture with Jake that she thinks will jump-start their lives together.

Meanwhile, Ronnie, a longtime inmate at a nearby correctional facility, is getting some good news for once—there was a mistake in his sentencing, and he’s eligible to get out of prison. After a sixty-day stay in a halfway house, Ronnie decides his best option to avoid homelessness is to move in with his estranged daughter: Nicki. Even though they haven’t spoken in years, her door is always open to him, right?

Inspired by the author’s life and imbued with wit and profound insight into relationships, Multiple Listings speaks poignantly—and often hilariously—about the ties that bind families of all types together."

"Multiple Listing" by Tracy McMillan

My Thoughts....

What a good read "Multiple Listings" was!  I will say that this read started and went around a complete circle giving the reader a complete story from start to finish of about Niki, her son Cody, then to her father Ronnie, mother...Beth, Nikki's friend ....Peaches...her boy friends...Jake and Alex
to a few others that make this such a complete story.  We find from this story that Nikki is a single thirty something year old with a sixteen year old son has a successful business in a relationship however, she has a lots of issues ...with a crazy friend...ex con father who she hasn't seen over seventeen years,..on to a romance that doesn't seem to be going no where.  This story will pick up when Nikki's father shows up wanting to fix the past. Now, this is some story here yes, some even predicable  but still some surprises!  Will Nikki allow this to happen?  I liked how this author brings in this grandfather who wants to be there for Nikki and his grandson Cody.  How will this all fit into this story about real estate?  However, this story will all blend in together as this author will bring it out so well to the readers. where we find one taking responsibility for their mishaps with there being s forgiveness.  If you love a story with good endings and second chances then you have a good story that I would recommend to you as a good read.

"Boss [Book 1 Part 3]" by Brian W.Smith

My Thoughts....

OK, I will admit I don't like waiting  to read part  2  and then  waiting to read part 3 so...Now let me be clear to what I am saying. I wanted to read the whole story at one sitting, so when I met this author and learned that there was going to be a part 3 to this Boss story...I said OK [to myself].. I will just wait and read it all together Parts 1, 2 & 3 and yesterday I did just that and loved this amazing read.     Part 3 is off the chart  being so well written with all of its twist and turns!  I still loved not having to wait and read it in parts.  However, I will say this author does very well  with his writing skills in bringing all of the parts 1, 2 and 3 altogether showing all of the 'drawn emotions' out of his characters.  As the novella continues the author presents the reader with another character that will cause one to either love or hate who he is presented to the story of already a disruptive family. That definitely  was a Wow moment for me at the end of the read!  Oh, I will say the story Boss Part 3 doesn't stop here...we are getting even more from this author in the summer of 2016, BOSS (Book 2, Part 1).  Thank you to the author for such a intriguing good story. Yes,  I will probably do it again and get  all the parts and then finish my read at one time and I am sure it will be another good read that the readers will be waiting till the end to get the rest of the 'Baptiste Family' story.

Baptiste.  Now, how with this man decide between the four ? children to become a successor as the CEO of the K and E Publishing Company?  Who deserves this job? Well, as the plot thickens...as this
story gets even more awesome!  As the drama keep on coming  to King and his family the reader will be kept reading as King Baptiste drops....well I will stop here and only say you will just have to pick this part 2 up and see just what that was that King drops on his family!  Now on to Boss Book 1 Part 3.

Since opening the Rose Harbor Inn, Jo Marie Rose has met fascinating people from all walks of life, but none have piqued her interest quite like handyman Mark Taylor. Katie, however, wishes to reconnect with her old boyfriend, James—the man she still loves and the one who got away. "Silver Lining" by Debbie Macomber

My Thoughts....

This was the fourth in the Rose Harbor series featuring Jo Marie, Mark Taylor, Katie Gilroy and Co Co Crenshaw setting in Cedar Cove which continues the story of the 'Rose Harbor Inn.'  This read will leave you with some high emotions where one may find themselves laughing to even finding some sad moments.

I liked how this author was able to give us a good story involving Jo Marie and her handy man, Mark which ended up with some surprise that will keep your attention turning the pages getting answers [wanting to know what is up with Mark]...oh well...I guess we will have to wait for that answer to just what secret is Mark keeping from Jo Marie?

Then there were  Jo Marie's  best friends Kellie and Katie who have return to Cedar Cove for their 10 year HS reunion.  Would they be able to 'face down old hunts and find a sense of closure?' Now, to me I will say this was to me some what strange in how all that comes out but OK..with each one having a problem they hope to solve  at this reunion. Now, will this happen...or will they leave this reunion with broken hearts?

All of this author's characters seem to come alive as the reader will be presented with such a well written story that will keep you turning the pages.  This was quite a interesting read where you will find a story of  'letting go of the past and embracing the unexpected.'  I did like the way this author was able to tie these three stories together where the reader will be able to see how they come together by the end of the read where they may find healing and comfort.

"Silver Lining" can be a standalone read but I think it's best to get the other three series for a better understanding of what has gone on earlier.  If you are in for a read of love, forgiveness and second chances then you are at the right place and I would recommend this novel for you.  Oh I don't want to tell you but I will...expect a cliffhanger ending!

Life laid out, Tessa had everything set. Engaged to marry the perfect man, a rich, great-looking doctor, she was content with her life, or so she thought. Then the gift arrived. Delivered to her office on Valentine’s Day, it was filled with handcuffs, sexy little toys and a suggestive little card.

What I liked about this novel....

I liked this erotic novella which held some much secret in one wanting the heroine to find out that her fiancee was the wrong one for her.  So, will we get a friend to lover when it is all said and done from this well written twisted story?  I liked the characters...being so well defined, developed, believable ...and oh my goodness...what romance and passion!   What all will come of this as this secret admirer will go to some lengths so makes sure that his  best friend is assured happiness.  What a lovable guy and friend!  So, what will happen when Tessa thinks she has it all planned out with her doctor fiance and her life is then  turned upside down with some dark fantasies and deep desires ....with this 'secret admirer' whom she thought she hadn't met only to have her thinking with those naughty messages she was receiving .....and now will have her questioning her feelings about her fiance?  Will these two [Tess and Caleb]who had been friends.... become lovers?    Now, how will this story end?  Well, you will have to pick up this novel and see for yourself and you may just be surprised with its abrupt ending....I know I was!
