Where This World Ends: (A Collection of Short Stories From Masquerade de Minuit) Kindle Edition by Kitty Honeycutt

Book Description....

"Many of these short stories have the same characters in them, in different times and in different places. This is the first book of chronicles of role play that started on AOL years ago up until it’s demise. All stories in this book take place in New Orleans in the 1800’s. The stories are collaborations by many people but mostly by my writing partner Amber Rendon and myself. We hope you’ll enjoy them, they are in their true form, some editing done for aesthetics as well as grammar and while I cannot promise they are in order to complete a whole story, I have done the best I could to put them together in such a way that each story is unique yet fits into the whole of a novel. There is something for everyone in this collection; vampires, werewolves, sex, seduction, blood and tears. This book is a celebration of a montage of writers from many places. We thank you for reading and wait in humble gratitude for your opinions and reviews.

Sincerely,
Kitty Honeycutt"

Now, I don't want to spoil any of these stories other than to say this is really quiet a interesting read that this author  have put together where the reader will find many of the same characters are found 'in different times and in different places.'  Well done to you the author for such enlightening reads that will give the reader a reason to ponder over long after the reads.

Now some of these stories are long while a few are shorter but all in all you will find from the read definitely a 'celebration of montage of writers from many places' that will keep you turning the pages to see what is coming next.

"Druid Vampire Requiem" by Kurokoneko Kamen

My Thoughts...

This story continues on from this author's  'Druid Vampire' where we now have the Huntress, Becca out to defeat Dracula and save Derek Dearg. Will Becca be making a big mistake in doing this to Derek?  I liked how this author brings in Becca's family [the Thorns] who were quite a humorous as they came for  visit.

As the story moves on the reader will get some more interesting characters such as Homicide Detective Alex and his police dog Maddy. It was quite a read as Becca's family will be attacked by zombies and as Alex will try to help them however suddenly a vampire shows up.  Will all be lost?

Will San Francisco be save from this 'Zombie Apocalypse' attack?  What will happen when Becca is kidnapped by Dracula and the Battle Nun Kendra Knight and the mad scientist Dr. Lazar Robinovitch are also in this dungeon captured?  Will Becca be able to figure out the connection between the Battle Nun and Dracula before it's too late?  In the end will Becca be able 'to use this weakness against him [Dracula] and fulfill the prophecy?  Will Becca and Derek finally get a HEA?  To get all of  the answers to all of these questions  and so much more the reader will have to pick up this good read "Druid Vampire Requiem" to see how this author will present it so well to the readers.

Derek lives only for avenging his wife’s death, and once he’s finally taken Slaine’s head plans to go out into the sun, and burn himself to ashes.

"Violet Abyss" by Suzanne M. Sabol

My Thoughts...

'Violet Abyss' was the seventh in the series:  A Blushing Death that will definitely present its title.

We find Dahlia Sabin has lived quite a 'lonely existence as a killer of the undead know as "The Blushing Death." This author gives the reader quite a interesting read as Dahlia  becomes very involved in the 'middle of  vampire conclave.'  What will happen when the 'vampire liege' comes to New Orleans?  This will be quite a interesting read however, I did find that the read will be so much more understood if you have read the other six in this series....Book one...A Pool of Crimson, Book 2 Midnight Ash, Book 3 Silver of Silver, Book 4 Golden Anidae, Book 5 Black Dalliances, Book 6 Emerald Fire and this one Book 7 A Blushing Death where the reader finds there will be a lots of action going on[in all of these series].  Will Dahlia, Patrick and Dean be able to get back this 'ancient relic of power' and save their friend Everett?  This read will show how  these three who were more than friends as they 'must use everything in their arsenal to turn the tide of revolution, and turning enemies into allies is more difficult and dangerous than any of them knew.'  Would I recommend 'Violet Abyss?'  Yes, but I would also recommend reading Books 1-6  before reading book 7 for a better understanding of what all  has all gone on earlier in this action packed story of humans, werewolves and vampires.

Thirst By: Jacquelyn Frank

Book Description....

"A hidden society of vampires—and the humans they love—are at the heart of this opening novel in a biting, all-original series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Nightwalkers saga.

Rafe DaSilva is an energy vampire, soaking up nourishment from the sun—and, only when necessary, drawing sweet sustenance from humans who are pure in body and spirit. As the right-hand man to his queen, Rafe is a key player at a historic peace summit in New York City, which will unite the vampire nations against a common threat: the sycophants, who feed on humanity and kill indiscriminately. But Rafe’s fascination with a beautiful blond police detective may put everything at risk.

Detective Renee Holden has never worked a homicide quite like this. The victim has twin puncture wounds on his neck, and the only eyewitness swears she saw a vampire. Now’s definitely not the time to get distracted by a seductive stranger. But the suave, darkly austere, exotically handsome Rafe DaSilva is a hard man to deny, and as Renee falls under his spell, she also falls prey to his enemies. Desperate to protect her, Rafe lifts the veil on a shadow realm she can only visit—a world of intoxicating power, terrifying dangers, and forbidden pleasures."

"Thirst" by Jacquelyn Frank

My Thoughts.....

This one was one a PNR suspenseful story line.  The story was of a homicide detective [Renee Holder] with a witness claiming that a vampire attacked the victim.  Now with unusual murder on her hands [the victim had vampire puncture wounds] she get involved in the their 'vampire world'. The vampires were definitely different than the regular ones that I have read about. These vampire got there energy from the sun[they feed off of human's energy and not blood].  Be ready for a long read as this story comes together as we find Renee a very strong and independent woman [sometimes too much]who dealt with some emotional raw connections dealing with a romance with Rafe DeSilva[who was a energy vampire]. Now, this is where I hope the story would pick up but what I was left wondering if I had missed something. However, I kept on reading and by the time I got to the end I thought this novel was a OK read especially if you are into paranormal reads 'with murder, romance, suspense, energy sucking vampires, sycophants who feed and murder humans to stake their feeding lust.'  In other words the readers will see clean energy vs unclean energy sources. In the end will Rafe be able to protect Renee?  This is where I say you will have to pick up this unusual read to see what all with happen to Renee, Rafe and those sycophants,  Since this read was the first of 'The Energy Vampire' it will be of interest what the author has planned in the next series.

"Emerald Fire" by Suzanne M. Sabol

My Thoughts...

This was the sixth in the Blushing Death series...'Emerald Fire.' If you like paranormal with vampires, wolfs, zombies, dark magic, supernatural,  romance [love triangle], shifters, witches, other magical creatures and lets not leave out the hot steamy sex scenes you have come to the right place for this read will give it to you and so much more one good read.  Not only does this author give you a 'drop dead beautiful vampire, sexy werewolf, a totally kick butt heroine but lots and lots of action to back it up with some off the chart well developed and portrayed characters' that will keep your attention all the way through the good read to the end of this series. I loved how this author was able to bring this story into sync...especially with two alpha males and with the old and new enemies there will be a lots of action with twist and turns going on.  Be ready for 'bodies starting to pile up, dark magic coming as a high ranking vampire board member invade Dahlia's territory.'  Will Dahlia be able to survive all of this and more?

I will say this author gives and keeps the reader quite  interested reading  as we see how the three of them coexisting [Dahlia, Patrick & Dean]as she 'continues to weave a story as she builds the couple's dynamics with the men in Dahlia's life along with the other secondary characters' as they tie it altogether into this last series.  Would I recommend this paranormal/urban/fantasy? YES!
