BOOKS... I love reading and have read a lot of GENRES in my lifetime. Being a book reviewer for Net Gallery and many various authors, I have contributed many reviews to Goodreads, Amazon, LibraryThing, and my blog page here. I get to read all the books I love and then share by reviewing the read. These are my true feeling of what I feel of each novel I read. "Raised Into This State of Mind" by Niki Jilvontae
My Rationalization:
All I can say is that this author really gives the reader a good urban fiction read that will leave you with lots of thoughts long after the read. I'm not sure who I felt sorrier for... Dia Banner Aka Double D, her brother Alontae Banner aka Tae, the father Sonnie or even the mother Mena. This is a deep story so you will have to get into it with all of the emotions that will be played out all over the place. Truly these Banner children were something in the way they had been taught by their father definitely 'Raised Into This State of Mind' and when their mother back into the picture play well you will have to read it for yourself. Was it right or was it wrong with all of the lessons the children had been taught? Weren't they molded in the way they were supposed to be? Well, that is for you to decide as you keep turning the pages to see how this well-written story will all come out. There will be some twists and turns so you will have to keep up especially in the end which was somewhat sad for me. I will say that the characters in the story were my, my, my indeed something else that definitely helps give the reader quite an unforgettable story.
