Book Excerpt:
"MODERN CANNIBALS CRAVE MONEY, NOT FLESH
Miki is a young, aspiring actor in Italy, but the only work he can find is a barista. Penniless, taken advantage of, and alone, he's losing hope of having a decent life. Then he meets Don Cristò, a wealthy retiree who sees potential in him as a cultured, brilliant young man. They become friends, but it's hard to maintain a neutral friendship when substantial money enters the picture. With greed comes the temptation to skirt the law, especially when an inheritance is at stake, and a beautiful woman is involved...
This unique legal and psychological thriller eliminates the narrator, so there is no one to describe, interpret, guide, or misleading. Instead, the reader hears the story directly from the characters and makes up their own mind about the case."

"Modern Cannibals: A Story Without A Narrator" by Antonio Scotto di Carlo
My Opinion:
'Modern Cannibals' was quite an intriguing thriller with a bit of romance added into the story. The story moves from Miki, an actor... who worked in a cafe...friends come into the picture along with a loved one being Gabri. The story will go back and forth as we get a story one a beautiful couple who are in love and some friends are somewhat jealous of that particular fact. What will happen when Miki meets Don Cristo? Then we get a murder thrown into this mist and also an ending that what was said left me in awe of it all. Understanding Gabri's thought pattern for that statement could leave one wondering what the heck is that all about...and with Miki's reply? Be ready for a relatively long read, so there will be a lot to take in. A favorite part of the story was the court proceedings and how the lawyers interacted to get what they needed to help Miki. All in all, this was a good read that, once the reader gets into the story, will find it will be hard to put down until the very end.
