The Santa Suit Author: Mary Kay Andrews

 Book Excerpt:

"From May Kay Andrews, the New York Times bestselling author of Hello, Summer, comes a novella celebrating the magic of Christmas and second chances in The Santa Suit.

When newly-divorced Ivy Perkins buys an old farmhouse sight unseen, she is definitely looking for a change in her life. As the farmhouse is called, The Four Roses is a labor of love—but Ivy didn't bargain on just how much labor. The previous family left so much furniture and junk that it's a full-time job sorting through all of it.

At the top of a closet, Ivy finds an old Santa suit—beautifully made and decades old. In the pocket of a suit, she finds a note written in a childish hand: it's from a little girl who has one Christmas wish, and that is for her father to return home from the war. This discovery sets Ivy off on a mission. Who wrote the note? Did the man ever come home? What mysteries did the Rose family hold?

Ivy's quest brings her into the community at a time when all she wanted to do was be left alone and nurse her wounds. But the magic of Christmas makes miracles happen, and Ivy just might find more than she ever thought possible: a welcoming town, a family reunited, a mystery solved, and a second chance at love."

Review:
"The Santa Suit" by Mary Kay Andrews

My Opinion:

"The Santa Suit" was one sweet Christmas romance that featured how one person's purchase changed so many people's lives in a story as it was for Ivy Perkins. The author did an excellent job giving the reader a little magic in how well this story will come together. After a horrible divorce, we find Ivy and her dog, Punkin, and five baby chickens moving to a new place in Tarburton, NC., and purchasing a farmhouse that needed some work. This is when Ivy makes friends with the townspeople and where the magic will be thrown in. What will happen when Ivy finds a Santa Clause suit on the closet shelf with an old letter to Santa from a little girl named Carlette? How will this Santa suit affect her life and some of the people she has met in the town? Like Erza, Phoebe, and others in the story, the characters were all well-developed, which added so much charm to the story where one will find a little bit of mystery and some sweet romance. This story will be a 'delightful, heartwarming, and captivating' story that will put a smile on one face, and it may even become one of your favorite Christmas holiday stories.

Thanks to St. Martin’s Griffin and Netgalley for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for an honest review.
