Book Excerpt:
"Growing up, the Savage sisters had everything their hearts desired. Wanting for nothing, they were able to live a carefree lifestyle. Praying together kept them close, but the older they got, the more distance they formed. As time passed, each sister was confronted by their own demons.
Kabrina considered herself the outcast of the family. Refusing to work within the family business, Kabrina followed her dreams, even if it meant doing everything she could to survive. Choosing love over family cost her more than she bargained for. How will she survive when everything seems to be stacked against her?
Lynette felt she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. Or, in her case, the importance of her family. Struggling to follow in her father's footsteps to continue the family's legacy, Lynette barely had time for herself. Desiring to have the one thing her sister had, love, there always seemed to be a dark cloud over her head. Will she finally leave her father's shadows and take a chance on love, or will she commit to living alone?
Rozonda became the attorney she dreamed of being instead of working in the family's business. However, she still made herself readily available to her family. Sudden signs of betrayal gave her the idea to walk away from what began to be a dead-end relationship. Yet, she was unprepared for the secrets pouring out about her partner. How will Rozonda handle the stress caused by a disloyal lover while still being the strong, faithful woman she set out to be?
Danielle was the baby of the bunch. Finally, stepping into her destiny within the family's business, she appeared to have it all. Brains, beauty, sass, and love. Admired by those on the outside looking in, Danielle struggled with finding her own true happiness. Being with who she thought was the love of her life since high school, she began to question his love for her when he started moving funny. Will Danielle continue to live the life others already deemed perfect, or will she do what she feels is best for her?
They say when you have sisters, you don't need anybody else. For the Savage sisters, that couldn't be further from the truth. Or could it? Trying their best to be who their parents ordained them, they were unprepared for the unexpected events that would put their sister bond to the test. How will their relationships survive? Find out in the first installment of Savage Sisters: Love, Lies, and Family Ties."

"The Savage Sisters" by Mz. Biggs
My Sentiments:
'The Savage Sisters' was quite a sad read after all was said and done in this story. I have read many stories, but none with such a tragic ending as this one, having a wedding and a funeral simultaneously. The story was mainly about Marshall Thyme and Sage Marie Savage and their five children.
Now, the reader is probably wondering what in the world? This is where you must pick this story up and see how the author brings it all out to the reader. The whole story was one emotionally sad, crazy, and tragic story with twists and turns, secrets, and family dysfunctions that seemed to be everywhere. However, the well-developed characters worked their magic with the complex drama presented in this urban fiction read. I don't know if there is a part two, but I hope there is one because a few things could be handled to improve the story's ending. That ending was quite a shock!
