Review:

"A Shot in the Arm" by Barry Willdorf was really a good read. It kept me on the edge of my seat through most of the read. Indeed you can tell that Mr. Willdorf that he had some lawyer background due to all details that he gave us on this great ride. "Shot in the Arm" was a story of how a lawyer (Nathan Lewis) from San Francisco trying to do what was right had many obstacles put in his way.
Nate (who was a lawyer) had taken a case involving Umoja Simama, a Black Militant charged with homicide in Marin County. Nate's girlfriend Christina did not want him to take cases such as these because they were involved the drug dealer, dirty money, and the Mob. Christina just wanted to finish her education, get a good job and get married. Would she ever get this? Nate wanted to get his name out there so he could have it all...good job and Christina...who was the love of his life. I really liked the way Mr Wildorf presented the characters because they really made the novel ... to name a few: Nate, Christina, Diz, Umoja(Amos Decker), Joan Deering, Moe Weiner, Willie Jackson, Sheila Mc Givern(Susan Bass)Inspector Hudson, Oso Pardo, Mato, Tiny Tim, Alex Estrada, Waseme, Connie Hawkins, Hamid, Samira, Aaron Carter, Jim Davis, Granma Carter, and Steve Bass. I am sure I left out some....You will just have to read and find out who for yourself! The question is how will Nate and Christiana be able to solve there problems.... maybe by "Negotiation?" And with the negotiation would Nate and Christina finally have the life they wanted?

"A Shot in the Arm" was really interesting and surprising in how this novel played out. I loved it! It was well written and I would definitely recommend "Shot in the Arm" as a good read.

FIRE BAPTIZED

"Fire Baptized" by Kenya Wright was a good mystery, romance, paranormal and fantasy thriller...even a little comedy .... all in one good read. This novel is definitely one that is hard to put down once you start reading. The setting is in Miami surrounded by a military base that take you straight into loads of action that is kept going constantly until the end.

Being a Mixedblood (half Fairy) creature Lanore Vesta(LaLa) could absorb and throw fire and was looked down on by those of the Pureblood. Lanore is confronted with a killer on a rainy night on the way home and her life takes many twist and turns as she tries to solve the killings that is going on in the Supernatural District. A note is left on Lanore door. Who had killed Carmen and Candy? Would Lanore head up an investigation? Lanore was definitely the Heroine who was one tough character. You will only have to pick up this novel and see for yourself.

Between Lanore's childhood friend and roomate MeShack (ex-Lover) and ZuZu who was a sexy radical friend... for they both were kinds of heros in this story. They were indeed strong, charming, very sexy, had special gifts and both really cared for Lanore.. for they would even die for her. Now just who would Lanore choose? Was this a love triangle?

With the war that was going on between these races this story from the start to the finish was full of some real unforgettable characters....Lanore, MeShack, ZuZu, Ray, Carmen, Larry, Roxy, Candy, Detective Rivera, Star, Pike, Iron Dove, Goldie, Gabe, Benji, Miss Vesta, Dante, Nona, Quinn, Wendy, and Angel ..... the list goes on presenting Fairies, Pixies, Shifters, Supes, Vamps, Mixies and Werewolfs and more. All were really a very interesting bunch of characters! Be ready for an interesting good read.

The author uses a lots of imagination in presenting this story. The details were off the chart in many ways. There was much research done by the author to bring this story to us. For the plot was well developed and this was one that I was unable to figure out until the end just who was this murderer was. Good job! It was very interesting seeing Lanore figure things out and ultimately save the day.

"Fire Baptized" was defintely an adult novel due to some of its themes and graphic scenes sex, volence and language ... but...still a good read. I also thought the Book Cover was interesting to look at! (those flames)... If you are into the supernatural this read would be for you. I would give this a
4 out of 5  Rating.

Review:

"Blood Forge" by Kathryn Meyer Griffin was another great read for me. The snake demon was really something in this read. I was really glad when it was ....oh I can't tell you. You will simply have to read this read for yourself (smile). I will say that this demon escape was in the form of a alluring 357 Magnum Colt Python pistol that was to bring havoc and death into many people.

Starting with the pistol... referred to as 'snake God' .... monstrous snake... ghosts...then Todd Cummings ending in the bottomless pit... on to .David Willows in Korea...wanted
to be a painter...hated his father and war.. had given him a replica of a Magnum Colt Python. This gun had come from a gunsmith (Jed) that wanted to get rid of it eagerly. Now David was in Korea(Chinese) in a war that he hated... with this pistol that "evoked strong sensations in people." Was he bitten by this pistol?...Was he hearing things?....Was he a "sniveling Coward?" During this investigation...it had been determined that Willows due to stress..going out of his mind had killed his patrol. ... nothing about this pistol. This alluring Magnum Colt Python was packed and shipped to his parents where it lay in dust for years... until later sold to a junk dealer.. only to be to be bounced out of the truck (in a trunk) and spilled over the road. Unnoticed....As the novel progresses this pistol get into many other hands bringing much destruction to several people. All who came in contact with this pistol was in for a horrible ride.

The characters.... Roger, Sandy, Tom, Martha, Sam and Emily....but it was Emily who was able to see that this sinister gun was the root of their problem. The author did a good job in presenting this plot and even the ending was truly well delivered. "Blood Forge" will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen next.

Thank God for David Kramer knowing of Father Gabriel who was definitely the hero to saved the day from this posed gun. Sorry that Michael wasn't saved. I know I am telling too much! Indeed I did enjoy the storytelling of "Blood Forge." Truly, it was another great read by Kathryn Griffin.

Review:

"For The Helpless" by Lori Boggs was indeed a good mystery criminal read. I found this novel very hard to put down until I was through with it. This was a very easy read.

The story was set in Oregon area where Detective Kelly Lowe and Chris Patrick are on the trail of a serial killer... . who is preying on children. For Kelly I can say that she is really a tough (no none sense) detective that did see the job through and her partner (Chris) was a dedicated good detective and family man.

The plot, the police procedurals and the geographical areas were so very detailed that you will soon realize that Ms. Boggs did a good job at her storytelling. "For The Helpless" was a very fast read. The characters were very real and believable making you fill part of the read. There are many twist and turns making it a good page turner and with all of its suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat. When I had finished the novel I was left waiting for more!

I did enjoy "For The Helpless" finding it quite an interesting and well written read and I would definitely recommend this novel as a good read.

To Urn Her Love

"To Urn Her Love" by Elaina Lee was a short and funny romance novel. It was about a stolen urn that was returned to its owner. How Elaina Lee went about the story was really interesting. The brother, Kyle, steals the urn thinking it was a flower vase for his sister, Caylie and now she has to return this to its' rightful owner. However, the catch to this story is that this urn belongs to a a former boyfriend (Rick Marshall)that had broken her heart seven years ago. Would Caylie be able to do this? You will just have to read it and laugh along with me!
I did laugh a lot while reading "To Urn Her Love" and I think you will be laughing along with me in this funny good read!

Review:

This was truly an amazing story of The Yimey Peach Family from the Bronx, New York. "The Priest and the Peaches" story started with five children being newly orphaned and their struggle to survive together as a family. With the help of the Father Tim Sullivan steering them to make good and wise decisions the children were able to overcome many obstacles that were presented to them. And in the end this Peach Family got a surprise from a person who had once been their enemy, was now there for them showing much love.

I really did enjoy reading this novel. It did cause me to cry a little but I also laughed at so much of it too. The story really makes one think of just what really could happen when you are an orphan. The book is really a page turner. I believe Mr. Larry Peterson did a excellent job with the telling of this story "The Priest and the Peaches" and I definitely would recommend this novel to all. The Priest and the Peaches" was a excellent read!

BARCODE

Review:

"Barcode: The Legend of Appollo" by Kashif Ross was a really thrilling read especially if you like Gods, demigods and mortals. These 'Barcodes' have been established to stop the war and to regulate the population...thus giving these gladiators a much stronger power. This story is set in the future from California. You must be ready for this read (I wasn't) because it is very violent and gory(bloody) novel.... A lots of fighting (Demigods fighting gods). I guess I should have picked that up from the book cover.

Now, after saying all that I did find the novel grabbing in how the the author was able to keep my attention of just what was going on at that time. I found myself wanting to keep reading. There are many twist and turns but if you are able to stick with it you will find it a pretty good read. "Barcode" will keep you on the edge of your seat due to the fact that there was so much going on.

Now for the characters....I find them really different in that each had their own story that seemed to be twisted and frustrating. To name some of the characters.... and there are many.....Michelle, Spence, Moreno, Vincent, Angie, Kode, Selena, Payne, Arnold, Hannah, Dennis, Monte, Hayley, Blake, Patrick, Professor Gonzales, Arnold, Kwan, Talib, Arnold, Pastor Gordon, Eli, Casey, Eve, Helios and the list still goes on. The author did well with all these characters.... how he was able to use some many of them was really something! I don't want to give anything away so you will have to read "Barcode" for yourself. However, a few characters I will say really made the novel very interesting... there is Spencer who is not a nice person at times ... I am still not sure just how I felt about him. Then there is Kode(dreadlocks) who wears the Tartarus mask... for he could hold your attention because you never knew what he was going to do next....and later he kills.... Michelle was a demigoddess ... a no none sense person...well enough said ... and then their was Hannah... who was a full goddess...All I will say is that she can work your nerves. ...... Was there love between Spencer, Michelle and Hannah? I will just say it gets very interesting at this point. Weren't Michelle and Hannah friends?

"Barcode" is full of imagination with lots of details and explanations ...with the gladiator fights that made it seem that you were actually there. I don't think you will find one plot because there seens to be several of them.

I believe the author did a splendid job with "Barcode"..and what about that ending? You will have to simply pick up this thrilling read to find out just how this novel ends. WoW! I would definitely recommend this book if you are in for a fantastic read.
