My Assessment:
The Storm Called Betrayal...by Pastor Paulette Harper
What happens when the storms come upon us, we ask whether God told you to do this. Well, this happens in many of our lives... So what do we do for every trial storm? Yes, we Believe, Pray, and Expect.
We find this author was presented after moving to a new location and thinking this was a good move; however it wasn't due to issues that had been lying dormant. One can only see how hard this was thinking that you had people 'who once you thought loved you, but were now your adversaries...oppressors...and heaters?' How will this all come out? All of this comes together as one prays through the tears for all the hurt and pain, asking God to forgive them according to Matthew 5:44 KJV... "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you."
In the end, 'what must we do in every trial in every storm..." BELIEVE. PRAY. EXPECT." One must pray through the hurt and pain.
Next, we have...
I Found Peace In The Struggle by Sandee Englund
After several suicides and adult children going through drug use... being addicted to opiates...how will life turn out for this family? Who's fault was this? What happens when there is a 'wake up call' and you 'listen to God...Let me show you the power in the name of Jesus...Jesus...Jesus!
Seeing the calling on the power in the name of Jesus...Jesus...Jesus...and what that can do for our daily lives. This helps have peace during the storm by trusting God and prayer. The 30-minute rule...is a loved thing to do daily.
As things become easy read in Phillippians 4:8 KJV and Matthew 11:28 KJV.
Next, I'm Coming Out of This! by Damon L. Owens.
'God can restore everything that we lost during the storm; if you lost your job, God could restore it; if you lost your peace, God could restore it; if you lost your ability to hope and dream again...our God can restore it.'
This was an excellent read that gives one the small steps to help one navigate through the inevitable stories of life...Survival.
Next...It Didn't Kill Me by Melissa Powell-Harrell.
I am a survivor
I survived the flood.
I survived the fire
I survived the brokenness.
I survived the shame.
I survived the abuse.
&
Through this survival, I survived sickness and learned that God had the final say in her life.
Good Read!
Next...It Happened Again by Dr. Tina M Beatty
Why was I going through this again? Loved the scriptures presented: John 8:32 KJV, Psalms 34:19 KJV, Matthew 18:21 KJV, and Luke 6:37 KJV...all applying to Forgive again. This author really did an excellent job in learning about forgiveness...Matthew 18:21-22 KJV.
Next... Surviving the Love of an Addict by A Lynae Brooks
"The way through the turbulent waters of life is not found on a map but by staying close to the one who can navigate and guide us because he passed through the greatest storm." - Bob Wenz.
What is it like to be married to an addict...being with Mr. Hyde& Dr. Jekyll? One definitely needs to 'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy path Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV.'
Help came from guidance through 'therapy and journaling and healing a broken heart, giving peace, purpose and a new beginning & restoration of life.'
And lastly...
The Storm is Passing Over by Pamela Michelle Tate
What will happen when my mother becomes ill [with cancer], and I got Covid?
This story shows the love of how it can be done with the help of God. Yes, there may be 'isolation, parenting one's parent, depression, anxiety, and loneliness, but in the end, it will come out letting us be able to handle the situation at hand through God's help.
"Knowing first-hand how hard it can be to lose someone you love, I hope you find the strength to honor your loved one and show the world how special they were by your actions." So how will you honor your loved ones when they are gone?
All these stories have been beautifully written; reading each will give the reader a lot to ponder over long after the read!
