"Block Gang Massacre: No Justice No Peace" by J. Brinkley
My Opinion:
"Block Gang Massacre: No Justice No Peace" by Author J. Brinley was one read that will keep you turning the pages to see how this Jefferson family will make in from the cotton fields on to New York. The story will with some exciting people, mainly dealing with George, his wife Ann, and their two boys, Abraham, and Elijah up in New York. We find George wanted to things for his family as he got into the 'bootlegging business.' Now was this a good thing for him to do? And he seems to have problems with one of his sons that would cause a breaking point for this family. All the while, things were happening with his close family members. As the story progresses, there will be a lot going on with this troubled son bringing even more problems with the father. I was lead to feel somewhat sorry for the father because enough didn't seem to be enough. He wasn't happy, so he seems to want to venture into other unnecessary areas, while even his wife wanted him to stop and smell the roses that they already had. Oh well, as you read, you will see what all this will cause.
It was good seeing in the end what Elijah finally understood; ' he was just like his father had said about him, and that was he was a coward, punk, and a loser, and hopefully, his son George Abraham Jefferson will turn out better than him.
All in all, what is left to say about this good read...is that Elijah finally realized he was 'the son of a notorious dealer who was caught by the Italians and suffered from a long, drawn-out sentence he didn't deserve' in the end. Now to understand these bit of pieces I have given you...you will have to pick up this read to see how well this author gives it to you.
