Review:
"Cynical Justice" by Freya Atwood
My Opinion:
'Cynical Justice' was about Robin Lane, who had practiced law as an attorney in Chicago, defending mobsters. Not like what she had been doing, she decides to go home to Dover, CA, to start over, and it was there she takes on a case of murder with the suspect, who had been an old high school friend. At that time, Robin didn't know that the mobsters from Chicago had found her and would start putting pressure on her because they thought Robin would tell their secrets. This story will be quite a roller coaster ride filled with drama, family issues, suspense, an intriguing cop [FBI agent], twists, and turns all over the place in the story. I say you will have to pick up this good legal thriller to get it all from the author.
This author gives the reader a very well thought out, well-written plot that will keep you turning the pages to see what was coming next. The characters were well-developed, that help keeps one's attention; however, I missed seeing who this Dona Mason was until the very end. I did find that the story was filled with so many surprises and still left me with questions that were left unanswered.
I am an ARC team member for this author.
