"Lullaby Road" by James Anderson

My Thoughts...

Now, this was quite a interesting read about Ben Jones who runs a tractor trailer delivery service [truck driver] that traveled on Highway 117 that was a desolate Utah desert making deliveries to people in isolated areas. Ben was known to deliver packages to 'desert rats, hardscrabble ranchers and other assorted exiles who chose to live off 117." Now, this route that Ben took I found it interesting to know that Fed Ex and UPS would not drive on this snow-blinding road.

What Ben finds while on his journeys will definitely keep your interest as it seems he kept getting himself involved in bad situations like finding a note that leads him to take charge of a small child [mute] and a large protective dog and also ending up when a friend and neighbor who leaves their young [bawling] infant with him so she could go to work. Now, I really found this rather strange when Ben piles them all in his truck and takes off to work going his normal route however, he ends up in a snow storm.

This story will continue on as this author gives the readers one intriguing and entertaining story ...from hit & run, bad weather [snow drifts], interactions with gun toting customers, abandoned child, child smuggling ring, preacher who carries a cross along the highway, accidents, three witches, Mexican women with food truck, and even some murders that happen along route 117. As every truck stop was made this author gives us a complete unfolded story with there being a lots going on with there being just a small group of people that are involved.To fully understand this entire story you will have to pick up "Lullaby Road" to see just how this author brings it out to the reader.

Be ready for a story will some laughable, scary and sad twist and turn parts of the read that will definitely keep you turning the pages to see what was coming next in this good read where in the end you will also find it 'engrossing, heartwarming and heartbreaking.'

"Silver Fox" by Misha Elliott

My Thinking:

I liked this cute and sweet romantic story that featured Jill Caldwell and Richard Sisk.  It was beautifully well written by this author giving us a story of a younger woman and older man relationship.  It was no doubt that after Jill meets Richard much earlier from her babysitting his daughter would  they meet again under different circumstances now that she was 26 and he was 40.

The story takes off so very well with the additions of a few other supporting characters that will add light to the read that will only keep you turning the pages to see what is going on next. After Jill and Richard meet for the second time will there be something that will keep each other interested?  "From the moment I first laid my eyes on Richard Sisk I felt an attraction to him." What was up with their  'FriendZone?''  Was this what Richard wanted and just why was that?  Well, to get all of the answers and so much more you will have to pick up "Silver Fox" to see how well this author will bring it all out so well to the reader.  I don't want to leave out how well I enjoyed how this author brings in on top of each of her chapter headings that will give the reader some 'thought provoking quotes' that one will ponder long after the read.   In the end "Silver Fox" was definitely a beautiful read that I would recommend as a good read.

My Thoughts...

This was one quite interesting story that will keep you turning the pages to see what was coming next.  It was definitely a story where Dr. Drew Nichols did get on my nerves with his stubbornness a few times in the way he handled things with Alexa Monroe.  Yes, there were many ups and down but aren't there in many relationships...especially with they are a bi-racial couple.  However, all in all the story did come out come out giving the reader a well written story that was entertaining and funny. I did feel that this story was somewhat predictable but still a good read. One thing for sure these characters loved to eat.  To check out what all that is about you will have to pick up 'The Wedding Date' and see for yourself how well this author brings out this story of a interracial relationship where 'love wan't part of the deal.'

My Thoughts....

What a interesting paranormal romance featuring Priest and Kateri in this shifter series.  I will say it did take me a minute to get into this story but continuing to move on into the read the story picked up and I did enjoy the read. I really liked the main characters with them both so opposite in the beginning but when they finally came together what a romance with it all in the sexy steamy stuff that finally went on between the two. It was quite interesting to see how Kateri who was 'all about facts and tangible proof and where as  Priest being about faith and trust'  finally coming together.

The secondary characters also added entertainment and amusement to this intriguing fantasy read.  There was a lots going on with this story as the readers will get a lots from the story of its histories and backgrounds that lead up to this time in the read. 

What will happen as Priest who was betrayed by his brother wants to escape the curse that haunts him?  Well to learn more of this story you will have to pick up this read to see how well this author brings it out so well to the reader.  As the series moves on I am sure we will find out so much more as the plot continues.

My Thoughts....


I found this read very similar spin to 'Persuasion' by Jane Austen novel, however it was still a interesting read that can  give you a good feeling after the read. The main character Anne Corey I didn't know if I felt sorry for her or what at times.  What will happen when Anne finds out that her true love and  ex [Adam Martinez] is the Fairfax College President at the college as she is trying to get her tenure as an English professor?  It was hard for me to see her giving up her true love of her life because a 'all knowing' professor persuaded her to do so if she wanted a career.  One thing I will say is thank God for a best friend like Larry that Anne did have in this good story.  

 Be ready for some twist and turns but in the end will Anne and Adam get their second chance and have a HEA?  
Well to find out you will have to pick up this overall enjoyable read  "By The Book."

I would highly suggest you you haven't read Fearless 1 to do so because as the story continues on it will definitely answer a lots of unanswered questions in this read. So, not only do we get a good story with no cliffhanger but a HEAFN.

"Ex-Ray" by Cheryl Robinson

My Thoughts.....

I loved how this author starts out this second trilogy telling the reader what had gone on the the first book 'Until Ray.'  However, I would highly suggest if you haven't read the first novel in the trilogy please do so to be able to get it all from a story that continues on.

Now how can I tell you about this story without telling too much.   Well, all I can say is what will Ray find out after some twenty seven years that will really let him know just how big of a fool he had been leaving Sarita.  From just that we see Ray wanting to make some drastic changes in his life.  So, what will that be?

For Sarita her life has really been dealt with some many changes.  After her husband had left her,  what had happen in Sarita's life to give her some happiness in her life?  After some twenty seven years had she married and if so who would it be?  How and why will this Dr. Lex, Graham and Boone become so important in Sarita life? 

What happens when Ray comes back to Detroit and looks for Sarita?  Will his psychiatrist be able to help him? What surprises will Ray find out about Sarita from Miss King.  What will Ray do when he finally sees Sarita?    Will Sarita come running back into his arms and they live happily ever after?

Well, there are a lots of questions that will be answered and so much more will be learned from this novel "Ex Ray" but to get all these answers you will have to  pick up this well written story to find out just what they are.  I don't want to spoil it for you.  At the ending of the story there is a little cliffhanger but again you will have to pick up this read and see for yourself what that was.

Overall, I found 'Ex-Ray' a well written story that touch on many subjects...marriage, separation, infidelity, adultery,  secrets, lies and love even though it was in a strange way.  For all that Ray had done to Sarita what kept me going was that I know karma will come and hopefully it will not be too late for him if it is truly for him to get Sarita back after all these years of separation.  For Sarita I felt so sorry for her in all that she was going through.  Has she learned anything from all that had happened to her in the past twenty some years?  If anything ..if Raymond left her once could he be trusted not to leave her again?!

Well,  the readers will hopefully get a well deserved answer to this situation between these two main characters in the last if the  'Until Ray Trilogy.'  I look forward to its ending!

My Thoughts...

I loved this series e that featured Gwened who was the 'Countess of Poher'  who had been engaged for a short time to Hugo. Adele [a healer working with vulerary herbs] who was Gwened's foster sister was marriaged to her brother Rudalt.  This is quite a interesting read as we find both of these two men so very different.  However sadness came upon them and Gwened learned that her betrothed Hugo had died during a attack by Viking marauders' and it seemed that Gwened couldn't get the truth of what had happened on their hunt from her brother.  It was quickly after the death of Hugo we finds that Gwened has been betrothed again to the son of Judicael of Poher. Now who in the world was this person? Was this a politic move?  With Hugo being dead it was found out that Judicael had another son... not only Hugo but Mateudoi who had been born sickly.  The story behind all of this is rather sad but we find the Mateudoi was been 'secretly taken away and tended to by a nurse maid and when Judicael learned of this it was ordered that he be taken away and sent to the Abbey at Redon as an oblate.'  But Mateudoi was able to survive  at the monastery and seemed to be doing well there with his studies.  So, Gwened learns of Mateudoi's  studies and deformity to which there is not cure and he was only fourteen years old. And Gwened was to marry him. Now, to find out why this marriage had to take place sure quickly I am going to say you will have to pick up the well written read to find out.

But as the story goes on we find that this story deals with Bjorn and his half  brother Valdrik.
We find that Bjorn has lost his family and his life has been torn apart so he does these sacrifices with boars in the 'hope of gaining and seeking solace for his soul.'  However, this didn't seem to be working for him as he wonders 'what more must he do to free the pain in his heart and guilt that continues to haunt him.'  I loved his his brother tried to reason with him in letting him know that  their fates was in the Gods hands.  Seeing that his brother Bjorn needed a change of scenery Valdrik talks him into going to the southern lands of Frankia.

Gwened is now married to Mateudoi are leaving for Vannes where he lived as a monk, eat little, studied and pray and never came to his wife's bed.  What troubled Gwened was that their were no heirs for Brittany.  Would Mateudoi consent to this?  What had happened that brought about problems between Rudalt and Mateudoi?  Again you will have to pick up this read to find out.

As the story goes on we find Valdrik and Bjorn  in the mist of quite a battle with the Norse, Franks, Neustrians and Aquitainians.  Who will survive this bloody battle? What will happen as it seems like Mateudoi is wanting an annulment and has left with the Abbot of Redon without telling Gwened of his leave?  What will happen when Gwend planed to travel by horseback back to Poher?

The story continues as we find Brittany is without a strong ruler.  What will Valdrik have to do during the bartering that he would be 'well rewarded for his sacrifice?'  What had happened for that to come to light...'Kissing whose feet?' This had to do with a treaty showing 'a proper demonstration of goodwill.'  Now, after "the sealing this bargain when that dubious kiss, Valdrik, his two brother, and three hundred hardened Vikings warriors set out to conquer the kingdom of Brittany."

Now, what will happen next in the Carhix Castle in Poher, Brittany? Gwend had been back in Poher for two months and had still had no word from Mateudoi.  Had he petitioned for a annulment in Rome now he was near the correct age? Why had Mateudoi not let her know what was going on?

When army of Vikings invaded Brittany and now wanted to see Gwened who was in charged?  What had happened to Duke Rudalt?  As this story continues on we get a well told story of the conquering of all Brittany.  Not only had these pagan armies  had come to pillage but they were now staying.  So now we find that Brittany was now vulnerable under the Viking control.

I loved this part when Gwened finally meets Bjorn Vargrsson in Vannes. I will say at this point the story really picks up and this author really gives the readers one intriguing read.  It was quite interesting seeing Gwened and Bjorn's reaction to each other. What happened after Bjorn was injuryed by the wild boars?  What had happened to his wife Astrid that he still had such deep feelings for that he had remained loyal?  Oh, I forgot to mention how I loved how Gwened would apply herself to the embroidered cloth[as her mother had] from the  'distaff and spindle, where she would spin all baskets of wool into fine thread doing beautiful embroidery and tapestry work of her family history.'  I could only imagine how beautiful that was to look upon. Why was this such a interesting point in this story?   What will happen as Bjorn learns more about Gwened marriage to Mateudoi and what had happened to Hugo? 

Why was Gwened so surprise to see that these [Norsemen] Vikings were nothing like she thought they would be?  Did they really want to settle peacefully in Brittany? How was Bjorn so different from her brother Rudalt in the way he ruled?  I will really stop here and just say this was a quite a novella that was indeed featly written.  Be ready for all of these question and more to be answered from this read.  The ending will be even more interesting in how the story ends especially with that big secret that only Gwened and Bjorn would keep.  Would I recommend this series: The Wolves of Brittany # 3 in The Bastard of Brittany?"  YES!

Will Meghan be able to help her friend Lisa while she is in Las Vegas with a big secret that hadn't told to her boyfriend two years?  What will happen after Bryce finds out about this secret?  How will he  respond?  What will happen when the three [Meghan, Bryce & Lisa] meet up?  Will it be one sweet ride?  I don't want to spoil it and tell all so you will have to pick up "A Ring for Christmas" by this author to get all of these questions answered.  So, if you are into these kinds of exotic  reads you will love this novella.

"Dreaming in Chocolate" by Susan Bishop Crispell

My Thoughts.....

It was quite interesting the way this author puts together this fictional story of "Dreaming in Chocolate' that has a mix of magical realism that deals with the healing powers of its chocolates.  We find the story somewhat sad in that...well let me say Penelope Dalton is a single mother who works with her mother at the chocolate cafe.  Truly Penelope mom's recipes are simply magical.  

  At this wonderful cafe you will finds a little bit of it all from 'chocolates, caramels, toffee and hot chocolates' which are supposed to have some kind of healing powers.  However, with Penelope who has a daughter Ella and has been given six months to live [having a incurable disease] she doesn't believes about this magic any more. Now this story will pull you as we see the daughter Ella who is such a brave little one writes her own bucket list and the thing that stuck me was not only wanted a cat but wanted happiness for her mother so she wouldn't be lonely when she was gone.  That part really had me in tears!  As one can see by reading this story is about believing, magic and oh yes the sweet chocolates.  

We find from the story that love of Penelope's life Noah left her nine years ago before she could tell him of her pregnancy.  Now he is back and wow how things get complicated.    I will stop her and just say the reader will get a good story of what will Penelope  do now...tell Ella about Noah about each other?  Now that Noah was back in town will Penelope begin to hope again?  

The story is one good read that deals with quite a bit from being a 'heartwarming, delightful story of family, chocolates,  magic, friends. love, hope and faith.'  If nothing else by the time you finish with this read you will probably have a strong desire for chocolate in almost any form that you can get them!   Would I recommend?  YES!

My Thoughts..

What all will happen when a divorced Cassidy Cantrell best friend ask her to go on holiday at a Ski Resort with her and there she meets one delicious treat of meeting a cowboy Griffin Stone?  Well, be ready for a wonderful captivating read with lots of banter with lots of flirtatious and playful humor with a little sadness thrown in. I loved the characters along with Cassidy, Cassidy's best friend Liz and daughter Mandy, Griff and his sweet nephew. What will happen as Cassidy finds Griff one whole package...'caring, sexy, funny and smart?'  What is up with Cassidy's ex when he blackmails her?  Now that Cassidy has been with Griffin who has also been in a bad relationship [being jilted] will she choose to stay with him or will she go back to her ex who is trying to get her back?  To find out what all it is about you will have to pick up "A Cowboy's Midnight Kiss: Romancing Griffin Stone" to see how well this author delivers to the readers a wonderful HEA. .

All that is left to say from this 'Chloe Daniels Mystery Series' is wow what a amazing series. I will say to fully understand all that has gone on with these characters you will have to pick up these reads. We have characters from Drake & Grace Wetherby, Jo-Jo, Leslie & Ethan Andrews, Merrill Starks,.Dr. Chloe Daniels, Detective Charlie Townsend, Detective Michael Phillips, Seven, Peaches, Brooke, Sapphire, Stix, Lucky, Penelope, Penny, Addison, Canaan, Dorian McLemore, Nigel, Lilly,Mark, Dahlia Winters, Andrea Wilcott, Major Braggs, Mayven Hemphill, Logan, James Summers, Rebecca,Shane Budrow, Investigator Dupree, Dr. Wakefield Brookes, Chief Livingston, Julius & Julian Bond, Holly & Derrick Jefferson, Blaze, Jeremiah, Genesis, Prosecutor Judith Norwood, Carmen Moore, Attorney Victor Carmichael, Paula Johnson, Justine, Silas, Antoinette, Anna, Lenore, Carrie to a few more I am sure I missed in this long listing you will just have to pick up the whole series of 'Chloe Daniels Mystery Series to be able to keep up with it all. This was quite a well rounded series from the start to the very end as each of these mysteries are getting solved by some very good law enforcements.

Now, I know this this a lots of characters but this author does a excellent job in this final installment as she touches on each one of these characters in one way or another in this final installment. Again, to fully understand this whole series you will just have to pick up all of these Chloe Daniels Mystery Series.

I did see from this read that all of the characters weren't completely finished [murdered and or captured} so I do expect to hear more about some of them from this author in up coming reads. I see we will be getting a new series from the 'Addison Parker Mysteries' soon and I do look forwards to reading more from this author.
