Book Excerpt:
"Jax Saint-Pierre is dedicated to building the success of her business and living life the way she mapped it. That is until driven and charismatic Chase Taylorson stands firmly in her path with his arrogant charm. He was the first man to make her consider changing her strict no-relationship rule, but with her wicked past, she keeps him at a distance for his own good.
Chase Taylorson is the head of a billion-dollar empire. All it takes is one chance encounter with Jax Saint-Pierre to blow up his well-organized world. Independent and feisty, she demands he check his ego at the door, forget his entitled ways, and bury his coveted bachelor status in the sand. Jax assumed he had a perfect life, but will soon come to realize, even the privileged are tethered to wicked roots."

"Roots of the Wicked" by Keta Kendric
My Rationalization:
I found the "Roots of the Wicked' quite one interesting read featuring Jax Saint-Pierre and Chase Taylorson, who were both dominant. The way this author tied the title to this story was really something precious. I enjoyed the quote from the story: "The roots of wicked seeds are capable of growing into something decent and producing something special" and "The roots of the wicked had branched out and formed a beautiful unbreakable bond." Now, to get an understanding of these quotes, you will have to pick up this read to find out how well-written this author presents all to the reader. I will say here that Chase may have thought he had a privileged life, but what will happen when he finds out how it was 'tethered to wicked roots' as it has been said 'you can't choose your parents!'
Well, that's what this story was indeed about. I am not sure who I felt sorrier for ... Jax or Chase because they both had some unhinged family members that would have you shaking your head and saying oh my god...really? There will be so many twists and turns that will leave you, the reader shocked as all the secrets start to come out. The characters were quite impressive, having some very complexed crazy individuals that kept you guessing all the way to this suspenseful, shocking ending. I will say Jax's got on my nerves with the way she seemed to be so back and forth with some of her thinking; however, by the end, all was good for her new life with her family.
