Review:

"Afterwards" by Nia Forrester as a beautifully African American romantic story of Robyn and Chris. This is definitely one of those reads that once you start it will be hard to put down until the very end because this author really brings it out to the reader. I like the way the author draws you into the read.  We find these two people who are no way alike...with Robyn being so positive with "no drama, no nonsense, strong, intelligent, pragmatic and just a kindred spirit," however, I would say she wears her heart very close.  Robyn is a divorced attorney...living with her mother...uncertain about her career and future until 'their world collide at the wedding of mutual friends.'  Chris ends up with a serve migraine and Robyn ends up spending the night helping him work through it.  Chris who quite the opposite from Robyn  being very hard to read at times. But, by the end of the read I see how and where this author was taking the reader to.  Chris is "rich, super successful and has three children by two different women."  Now, you know there is some drama there.

I will stop here and just say you must pick up "Afterwards" to see how the beautiful romance will turn out.  Some of  the characters were  well developed, well portrayed,  colorful, however some were complexed.  There were some secondary characters that help build this story and draw you even more into this wonderful story. Will these two people be able to fall in love?

This author was able to take the reader through Robyn's and Chris's highs and lows...only to give us a story that flow smoothly through this relationship  between these two and in the end will well, again I will let you read it for yourself.  Well done Ms. Forrester for a  beautifully written novel.
