Baby Girl (A Miss King Novel Book 2) Kindle Edition by Cheryl Robinson

Book Synopsis:

"Lily King is ready to put her abusive childhood in her rearview mirror, improve herself, and take charge of her life.

At eighteen, she gathers up her unrelenting strength, determined to make it on her own. While love is the last thing on her mind, she meets two men who want her heart, but neither compares to James.

Everything Lily thought she wanted is right there—independence and friends who become family. But should these new people in her life be trusted?

Follow Lily in this second book in the Miss King series that takes place in the uncertain 1960s in Detroit, and experience a tale of love, perseverance, and strength that is uniquely Miss King. "

"Baby Girl" by Cheryl Robinson

My Rationalization:

All I can say is that if you haven't read 'Lily' by this author, please do so before reading 'Baby Girl' because it will explain quite a bit about this story as Lily King refers to certain characters from the past read. Well, the only thing that is left to say is wow what a good read the reader will be presented from 'Baby Girl,' We see Lily who has had quite a horrible childhood now moving on to 'improve herself, and take charge of her life.' And she does just that by meeting quite a few interesting characters along the way. I will say at this point some of the characters were good while others I am still out on that issue. Will Lily finally get the 'independence, friends and family' she has always wanted? What will happen when Lily finds out that some of those friends couldn't be trusted?' As I read through this story at the end I still felt somewhat sorry for Lily because something to me was missing even though it seemed like everything was going good for LIly! Now, for what reason and why was I left feeling this way? Well, I don't want to tell too much more and just say you will have to pick up "Baby Girl" and see how well this author gives the reader a good story of Miss King's 'love, perseverance, and strength.'

Thank you to the author for providing me with a very interesting read about Miss King and in turn giving my honest review.
