"Embryo 4:  Catch Me by J.A. Schneider....

Book Description....

"A terrifying serial killer who just targets couples, and leaves taunting notes for the NYPD signed CATCH ME... At a loss, police request the help of doctors Jill Raney and David Levine, police friends and detectives on their own. Both have helped when cops' hands are tied, or in ways that even police forensics never imagined.

But this killer, a sharp shooter, is always a step ahead. He wears gloves and disguises, shoots victim pairs at random with an unregistered gun, and leaves no physical evidence or eyewitnesses. He's enraged to hear that David is also a crack shot, and intrigued with the couple's adopted little son, Jesse, almost one year old, dubbed by the media "the miracle baby," and already showing signs that he is as intuitive as his mother...

The killer draws closer, gripping New York City and the entire nation in horror, pulling Jill and David into the worst terror they have yet encountered.
"

What I loved about this novel....

Wow, this was a very thrilling series...hope you have kept up with this authors Embryo's 1-2-3  series because if you haven't you have missed a good series.  Embryo 4 was this authors fourth novel and all I can say is wow, what a good ending that Embryo 4  gave the readers. This author really knows how to tell a story and once you pick it up the  read you will not want to put it down until the end. Why is this? The author knows how to keep your attention in such a unique way with all the tension in this action paced read.

All of the characters were so richly developed  when it seems that each one comes alive right there on the pages.  I loved how this author gives extra details that made each scene along with conversation very complete and special to the read.  The two main characters  Jill and David are so supportive and good to each other along with the love of their son Jesse.  I don't want to leave out those friends who were the co- workers of the hospital (loved how they supported each other ) and police department.  As the story goes on we find Jessie(a baby that was developed outside of the uterus) has been adopted by Jill and David and to no ones surprise this one year old is super smart and at the end only proves that point in what he was able to convey to his mom.  The hospital Madison Memorial where all this took place wants to show 'Jesse' off.  Why was that?   Now to find out way you will need to read the earlier series to find out however, I will share a little... because of what had happen with 'Jesse' this  will greatly get the publicity and  hopefully 'gain additional research money to develop artificial wombs' for the hospital. Be prepared for a read of  many bloody bodies as we find this killer( referred to as "The Couples Killer" leaves notes ...'Catch Me.'

With all the work in this hospital  that is going out around them suddenly Jill and David are being targets of this crazy psychopath.  Will they be able to take this bad person down and keep their son, hospital friends and the citizens safe.   Well, this is way I say again you must pick up this series as well as the other previous series 1-3 to see how this dramatic take down will come about.

What I especially liked about the read....

As in the other series the two main characters are helping once again the local police where we again see 'Jill' is the real helper in this case with all of her smartness.  I loved how this author was able to bring in the subject of PTSD which is called by extreme trauma and stress and even the experience of a military veteran who copes with the after fact of the mind and experiences of the war.  Now, I don't want to tell too much more  other than to say you must pick up this wonderful read and see for yourself how this author will bring it all out to you.  You will find it a  very interesting captivating thriller read and in the end we get a good ending and it's my understanding that there will be another Embryo series.  Would I recommend these  series....YES!

"Savannah" by Tip...

Book Description......

"Savannah Johnson is from a small town in the Delta. She grew up in a single parent home with three older brothers. School was her number one priority. Her best friend De De was all she had when it came to her social life. That all changed one day when she was on her way home and bumped into her cousin. The guy on the passenger side of her cousin’s ride caught her eye. At first she was leary about talking to the guy, but she went against her better judgment and gave in to his charm. What she later found out was that she wasn’t his main chick. She was classified as the side chick and with that, she found things to not always go in her favor. When things began to rock their relationship, she gets the news that would change things forever between them. Will she be able to come to terms with the life she chose? Will she ever become the main chick, or will she remain the side chick with responsibilities. Would she jeopardize her life for the sake of this man, or will she ever become tired of being the side chick and set her goal to become the main chick by any means necessary?"

What I liked about the novel...

I liked this short read that once I start I didn't put it down until I was finished (about 45 minutes).  I did find it somewhat predictable however, there is a message in the read that I hope all the young readers will be able to  get.  I found Savannah a very determined person that from the read you will be able to see her growth of her life's experiences. Most important from the read you will be able to see that Savannah wanted love.  Will she get the happiness she desires?  The author does a good job at keeping the reader captivated and you will get the assurance of trying to understand this main character  of just what she is going through. You may even be able to relate to Savannah.  Will Savannah and Lance be able to have a lasting relationship?  This is where I say you must pick up Savannah to see how this author brings it all out to the reader.   Then, I guess we will have to get part 2 to read the rest of the story. Would I recommend "Savannah?"   YES!

"In His Way" by Rebecca Duvall

Book Description....

"Throughout much of my married life, I lived under the illusion that I had it all together - it was everyone else that needed fixing. Several years into my second marriage my husband, a Deputy Sheriff, became a workaholic and was never home. Meanwhile, I became a volunteeraholic, too busy to face the fact that we had become two strangers under one roof, raising three kids.

God revealed Himself to me through the different women I volunteered with. As my heart slowly opened to God's presence, my marriage came crashing down around me. As I cried out for God's help, I discovered my husband’s affair. I found myself surrounded by faithful people who gave me the strength to face the problems in my marriage and the tools needed to begin fixing it.

Over the next four years, my husband’s health deteriorated and he was forced to retire. Through this God continually showed me I was In His Way and then, when He knew He had my attention, He would proceed to show me how to do things In His Way. In the end, what God told me to do, saved my husband’s life, and our marriage. What was broken is now fixed by the grace and love of God."

What I like about this novel.....

Wow, I found this novel a great inspirational read.  This was a good story of Rebecca's being able to find herself and in doing this she was able to finds God.  However, before this could happen Rebecca would have to overcome the horrible struggles and that she had to deal with within herself.
It was such  a honest story that this person tells and exposes her weaknesses and strengths to the reader which really showed how she was lead to the right path leading her to God.  This was a real look of a story of a Christian life which showed the whole picture of this family's life that didn't come out of this overnight.  This is were I say you must pick up "In His Way" to see for yourself how well written this novel has been presented to the reader.  It is definitely a novel you will not forget.

I found "In His Way" was one read that I couldn't put down until the very end because each page this writer gives it all in her read of the story of her life which portrayed the good, bad and the ugly.  No, it wasn't easy way for Rebecca  but with God's help she was able to make it through her 'trial and tribulations of her personal life and marriage.' And I must say that was really something.

"In His Way" is definitely a novel that gives one hope and inspiration and  my, my what a journey!  This was one excellent read of courage and strength that  I would  be recommended to you.

"Spring Shadows" by Jennifer Gracen

Book Description....

"Lydia wasn’t looking for love. Having just finalized a difficult divorce, she attended her best friend’s destination wedding with a simple plan: to reconnect with old friends and take a much needed break from the stresses of single parenthood. But life had more in store for her. In AUTUMN GETAWAY, Book One of the Seasons of Love series, Lydia connected with charming, sensitive Sam over that weekend, and took a chance on someone new. Then, in WINTER HOPES, Sam and Lydia explored the excitement of blossoming romance. Even though a long distance relationship isn’t easy, in each other they found renewed hope, both overcoming past losses to learn to trust and love again.

Now, in SPRING SHADOWS, Book Three of the series, author Jennifer Gracen brings Lydia and Sam one step closer to lasting happiness. But it isn’t all romance and roses. The realities of a long distance relationship held between Chicago and New York start to take a toll. Add in the complications posed by Sam’s overprotective brother, Lydia’s difficult ex-husband, and an unexpected tragedy, and it all threatens to tear them apart before they’ve even begun to truly be together.

Lydia and Sam must face their pasts and come to terms with old fears and insecurities. They need to focus on the things that really matter: true love, forgiveness, compassion, and fearless commitment--another leap of faith. Full of the sweetness and heartfelt emotion you’ve come to expect from the Seasons of Love series, SPRING SHADOWS shows us the power of purposeful communication, understanding, and unrelenting self-awareness, proving that true, lasting love is possible when nurtured by healing and hope."

What I liked about this novel....

This author did a wonderful job with this third series making the characters seem to come alive on the pages. I would highly suggest you read the first two series so you will be caught up with what is going on between the main characters Sam and Lydia as their relationship evolves. These two people really go through a lots of drama with Lydia, son, her ex(a real piece of work) and with Sam's death of his wife and lets not leave out his brother. How will Lydia work out her problems and come out of the shell that she seems to run to as things are opened up and revealed? I will say sometimes Lydia really had me shaking my head but thank God for her friends who were there and able to help her get on the right road. Now, if only she will stay on it. It was quite interesting reading about Lydia, her friends and what a family that Sam had. I will say that all of the secondary characters were all well developed, well portrayed and believable group. Be prepared for a good read that will bring it all out to the reader...drama, frustrations, intense interactions, grief, tears, raw emotions, great sex, and love as you will get caught up in this well written amazing story. After reading "Springs Shadows" we will be left waiting for the next series 'Sumer Champagne' to see how this author will bring it all to a end. Would I recommend this series? YES!

Book Description.....

"It may be a new day, but mystery and murder are still on the agenda.

In the aftermath of Wanda’s Reign, Mike Black and Bobby Ray have resumed command of the organization they started and they were able to crush their enemies. There are still pockets of resistance, but Black is confident that Rain Robinson will do what she does best and bring order to chaos.

Now that the war is over, Shy hoped that her life with Black would return to what it once was. But that is not the case. With Black being so consumed with running the business, Shy is left with idle time on her hands. And then there is still the matter of Jada West. But when a family friend of Black’s is murdered and more people turn up dead, Shy is at his side to unravel the mystery."

What I liked about this novel....

All I can say is this novel was another one of this author good reads. "It's A New Day" will keep your attention as Mike Black takes and crew takes back there city from the very beginning to the very end of this read. This author will present the reader with lots of action in the forms of so many mysteries and suspense that you will be left keeping up on what all is going on. If you are able to do that then you will have one hack of a good read. The characters and I mean there were many...were all simply off the chart...well developed, well portrayed, some flawed, colorful and very believable helping to give this a good urban read. Be ready for the sex scenes, drugs, diamonds and swinger clubs, assassinations, sex cults, killings, cancer...well this is what this read is all about so get ready. It was even more interesting how the author brings in the youngsters into the novel. How will this end? Well I will say it was quite a different kind of ending to this story and ...this is where I say you must pick up "Its' A New Day" to see how this author will bring it all out to the reader. I will say after it's all said and done...this author does what he does best and that is giving the reader a good interesting urban story.... It's A New Day" until the next story comes along.

Book Description...

"Sexy, suspenseful #2 novel of the Mind's Eye Series by Deborah Camp. Psychic detectives Levi Wolfe and Trudy Tucker face an unknown foe who is determined to destroy everything beautiful in Levi's life -- including Trudy. Will Levi's love claim her or kill her?"

What I liked from this novel....

I loved this second continuation of the authors Mind's Eye series.  For the two main characters ...this psychic pair...we are left wondering what will be going on with Trudy and Levi and in this novel "Through His Touch" we find out as they are placed in danger from a multiple of threats.  Now, I don't want to say too much about that because I want you to pick up the good read to see for yourself how this author will bring it all out to the reader.

What I also enjoyed about this novel...

I loved how this author shows us the love that Trudy has for Levi and how their relationship grew.   The readers will  see it all in this  heartfelt, romance,  drama, terror, scary, emotional and most of a suspenseful  read.   Be ready for some scenes of these killers, stalkers and murders  that are  simply horrible.  However, if you can hold on till  the end there is even more...well ...you will have to read it and see  for yourself how well this author brings it to the reader.

My overall impression...

If you like a good mystery with a good romance then you will like "Through His Touch" and by saying that I would also recommend to you as a good read.

"Butternut Summer" by Mary McNear

Book Description....

"Return to the golden beauty of Minnesota’s Butternut Lake in this emotional story that vividly captures the joy and pain of first love, as a mother and daughter each come to terms with the desires of her heart.

Summer at Butternut Lake—a season full of surprises . . . and life-changing choices.

Preparing for her final year of college, Daisy is crazy busy now that she’s back at Butternut Lake. She’s helping her mother, Caroline, run their coffee shop and trying to build a relationship with the absentee father who’s suddenly reappeared. She never expected to fall in love with Will, the bad-boy from high school who works at the local garage. With every passing day she and Will grow closer to each other . . . and closer to the day they will have to say goodbye. As summer’s end looms, Will and Daisy face heartbreaking choices that might tear them apart.

Caroline already has her hands full trying to make ends meet at the coffee shop without having her no-good ex suddenly show up. Now that Jack is back, he’s determined to reconnect with the family he walked out on twenty years ago. But with the bank pounding on her door and Jack’s presence reminding her of the passion they once shared, Caroline’s resolve begins to crumble. As Daisy’s departure looms and her financial worries grow, Caroline just may discover the support she needs . . . in the last place she ever imagined."

What I liked about this novel....

I liked how this series is still in this small town of Butternut Lake, Minnesota where most of the town people know of each other as this author presents to the reader several  well written stories. This story was a fast paced read of mainly three people...

Caroline, owner of Pearls coffee shop, a very caring person, but she has some secrets of her own and is the need of help that she is trying to hide.  Will she trust her ex who is now back in town  trying to be in there life's?

Daisy, the daughter who was home for the summer from college, now twenty one years old struggling for her own identity, and she is in love with a 'former bad boy.'  With all of this going on will she be able to get her parents back together after being apart for eighteen years?

Jack (ex husband)who has come back to this town bringing with him some real bad memories of the pass dealing with alcohol, gambling and cheating.  Has he changed from his former life?

Put all this story together with some other secondary characters and you will see how each one has some flawed, sympathetic, very believable and some intriguing moments in  how this author will solve and bring it all out  in  this authentic and entertaining story.  There will be some sexual content that was presented very well.

I did find some of  "Butternut Summer" a little straightforward and predictable as it reconnects some  to the past  to new beginnings.  However, if you are looking for a engaging romantic read you have come to the right place that would lead me to recommend this novel to you.

What I liked about the novel....

This author has brought to the readers a very interesting read that once you start reading you will have a hard time putting it down. WOW, Ms. Hardin you have done it again....written a absolutely wonderful story with so many twist and turns. You will be kept on the edge of your seat wondering what is coming next in this intermingled story. Be ready for a story of romance, love, sex, humor(some), secrets, lies and in the end....the mystery of it all, even some suspense and the several surprise twists that you may not see coming. This was definitely a shocker for me because nothing is as it seems as you are reading through this novel. Now, to fully understand what this author has written you must pick up this excellent read and so for yourself how well this will be brought out to the reader.

The two main characters Maxine and Shelton were simply off the chart good as with the secondary characters being so well developed, portrayed colorful defined and believable all helping to give the reader a good script.

What I also liked about this novel...

I liked how this author ended and summed up each chapter in this story.. here are a few ....that I thought were simply wonderful!

Richie Davidson was devastated by the sudden loss of the woman he had been building a future with. Women were coming from left to right offering him comfort, but he wasn't interested in them. Because one unique beauty not seated ten feet outside his office door had already caught his eye."

What I liked from the novel....

I found this a sweet romance novel that was a quick read.  We find that these two people come together but not before a rough ride to get to that part.  This author made it quite a interesting read in how she was able to give the reader a read that would keep your attention to the very end.  I liked the drama that Richie's brother brought into this picture.   I did enjoy Richie and Keri's  sexual play in the office scene along with this story's realistic  plot, well developed and interesting characters  that had  some flaws ones.  It will be quite interesting seeing how Richie  shows Keri that she is the women he really wants in his life.  Will this work for them?    Now, I don't want to spoil too much other than to say you must pick up "So Much Better" and see for yourself how this story  will all play out for this interracial  couple.  If you are looking for a worth while read you have come to the right place because "So Much Better" will give you a  good romantic read.

"The Buried Children" by Daniel Farcas

Book Description...

"This true story is the journal of an orphan child born in Romania in 1980's during Nicolae Ceauscu's communist regime, Daniel becomes a homeless child on Bucharest streets and in the city underground sewers after he runs away from the orphanage and lives through the 1989 Anticommunism Revolution.
Daniel ends up running from the Romanian Secret Service and police that want him dead and he manages to fly to U.S. using someone else passport help by Mariana, an American girl that falls in love with him while in a Humanitarian Mission in Bucharest.
There are other stories tangled in the novel, an adopted child, a child reunited with his father and a child killing his father and grandfather who abandon him."

What I got out of this novel ....

This was definitely not a happy story...it was a horrible one and I agree with a title of a chapter  'Born in Hell.'  Wow, what a description of this child's horrible journey into manhood as he grow up in this unwanted orphan in communist Romania.  It was quite interesting how this novel is about Daniel growing up in an orphanage then escapes....living in sewers then coming to America....then trying to survive where he was not wanted.  This is a intensed read of the memoirs of this author.

My impression of this novel...

I found it very emotional interesting and even heartbreaking read  for anyone to have to go through and even more for one to have to read about.   This is definitely not a read for everyone...more for the mature audience.  I know their were grammar problems, however after all is said and done this author has given us a honest worth while and sincere accounting of his journey into manhood.

What I liked about this novel...

I found this novel a bit different  from some my other read that would give you much thought long after the read.  This author really knows how to keep your attention because once you start reading you will find it hard to put down until the end.  And by the way it is a short good read.    I found this read quite a emotional read bringing in all the scariness from Tonya's world.  Wow, it was deep but definitely had a good meaning to it all.  I hope all who read this will receive it. Thank you author for giving us a very interesting, intriguing  and captivating read.  You will definitely be left thinking should be sorry for Davin after Tonya, Penny and Mysti are through with him?  I guess we will have to see in the 'To Be Continued'....

"Willow Smoke" by Adriana Kraft

Book Description....

"When the chips are down, there's nobody there. Willowy blond Daisy Matthews has survived the Chicago streets with this mantra but is unprepared for the much older Nick Underwood's urgent pursuit. The wealthy businessman receives a thoroughbred in payment for a bad debt and is thrust into Daisy's world. She teaches him about horse racing; he teaches her about love. When Daisy's seamy brother-in-law threatens Nick's safety, she doggedly tries to stop him by herself, but flees to the familiar streets when he attacks. Can Nick find her in time – and if he does, will she still want him?"

What I liked about the novel.....

I like this incredible story from start to finish.  These authors really brings it all out from a little of it all...romance, love, hot sex, very persistence, appreciative and a thriller of a read.  This is definitely one novel that will hold your attention from start to finish being full of suspense. The two main characters were quite a pair with one being very determined and headstrong while we find the other one being very giving.  What was the real problem that was the main problem for these two?   The secondary characters were simply off the chart well developed, real, well portrayed, colorful and very believable that help give the reader a good enjoyable read.

I liked how the authors were able to give us a wonderful entertaining story.  Maybe a little predictable in some ways but still a very realistic and an emotional read in other ways.  I really enjoyed how this author was able to bring these two together who were really opposites...but you know what they say about them. Sometime opposites will be very attractive to one another and I think this was the case for Daisy and Nick in some ways.  Why did Nick refer to Daisy as Willow Smoke?  Now, you will have to read this novel to get that answer.

What I especially like about this novel...

I loved how the authors brought out to the reader about horses, Paddle Dreams Unlimited, Boundary Waters.. fishing trip, the eagle, the loon, the stars, and wow...those northern lights...what a love scene.  Well, I will stop here and say "Willow Smoke" was a good  riveting story.

My favorite was from a excerpt...

"Nick maintained his vigil by Daisy’s bedside, mulling over their relationship and planning
for their future. He smiled and squeezed her fingers. As long as he might live, he’d never
forget the willowy woman with straw sticking out of her hair challenging his right to be near
her barn. Or the waif-like blonde who stepped into his suite with an offer he never could
have resisted. Or the woman who spoke to horses as if they understood. Or the woman
who led him to the pinnacle of ecstasy beneath the northern lights. Or the woman who
helped him see life through fresh eyes and an earthy wisdom. The woman he could not
live without."
What I didn't like....

At times the heroine made me want  to ... and then their was Daisy's sister and brother in law....wow...well I will stop here and just say you will just have to read it for yourself to see how these authors brings that all out to the reader.

My overall impression of this novel..

These authors gives the readers a excellent well written story that will give you some thought long after this sweet romantic read.
