My Thoughts...

What a interesting array of rice recipes with short introductions, information and photos.  The reader will find recipes from around the world...soups, noddles, salads to name a few.  I liked how this author was able to show one how to explore a foreign cuisine for a traditional recipe to a modern twist with even showing what can be done with 'leftover rice.'  You will find easy to follow recipes with photos that comes from all over the world and even desserts made with chili, ginger and mango crumble ...wow,  now that sounds interesting!  What a lovely way to explore some real interesting and filling recipes.  

If you are a rice lover be ready for some fantastic recipes of what all you can do with RICE!

My Thoughts.....

What a sweet contemporary romantic holiday read!  For Mandy Reese or as the town calls her 'Mandy Claus' believes in Santa Claus. Now how did this come about? What had happened to Mandy when she was eight years old? What will happen when Mandy meets Jake who is quite the opposite of her? Will her beliefs scare Jake off?  Will Jake be able to accepts and even understand  Mandy's 'Secret Santa Sighting Story that she presents so very well?   Well, to get all the answers to these questions and more you will have to pick up "Do You Believe in Santa" to find out how this author brings it all out to the readers.

I found the characters very well developed, defined, portrayed, likable, realistic and believable giving the readers a wonderful well written read.   This novel was indeed one of those heart warming stories of 'the magic and the spirit  of the season of Christmas'  in Tall Pines, CA.

Great collection of not only dumplings but you will find other recipes like desserts, drinks, noddles,

soups and even some full menus can be found in this marvelous book.   You will find this collection of recipes will have great photos with a commentary with descriptions, instructions, techniques  and facts that goes with the recipes.  The reader will find these recipes to be very friendly to use making you want to try something new especially the 'trouble-shooting help.'  If you are looking for some awesome recipes ['dumplings, noodles, steamed buns, snacks, drinks and desserts'] this would definitely be the cook book for you to try.

"I Am Yours" by Author Aja

My thoughts....

This was one of those stories that was a sweet love story for Amara and Noah.  This author gives the reader a quite a beautiful story that will keep your attention to the end.   I found from the read that Amara had some real trust issues and as you read you will find out why she reacted the way she had with her Mom, Noah, Keith, Cami, and her Dad.  The way this author was able to bring out these characters to life was remarkably done giving the reader a interesting read. Be ready for some really hot sexy scenes that was simply off the chart!  Will Amara be able to be in a relationship  that she would feel safe in?  Well you will have to pick up the well written story to see how well this author brings it all out to the reader. Be ready for a story that is built on 'trust, love and much patience.'  I loved how the parents of Amara were able to offer 'parental wisdom' that was there to help her in the mist of it all. In the end will Amara be able to 'face her pass and trust her feelings for Noah?'

My final thoughts...

If you love reading a good love story with some  real life issues with genuine love then you will love this novel...'I Am Yours.'   Would recommend this novel? YES!

My Thoughts....

If you like a sweet Christmas love story then this novel is for you.  I liked how this author
was able to bring these two people together...Logan and Claire. Claire was a widow and new Librarian with a son Owen who had come to live in Knights Bridge.  How will this all come about? Claire also did a program with the seniors at the retirement home....therefore meeting Daisy.  Logan was a ER doctor who was from Boston had come to Knights Bridge, Massachusetts to help his grandmother [Daisy]get settled in the local assisted living facility and also get her home ready to sell. However, Daisy wanted her home decorated for the holidays one last time before putting her home up the for sale sign.   Needing help with this decorating job ....Logan gets Claire's help and this sweet story will take off from here. Was Daisy up to some matchmaking needing Claire to help Logan with the decorating of her home?  To find out you will have to pick up the good read to see how well this author will bring it out to the readers. I felt it was a sweet holiday story of how two people being brought together during this season in the quaint town.  Would I recommend? YES!

"Silver Lining" by Debbie Macomber

My Thoughts....

This was the fourth in the Rose Harbor series featuring Jo Marie, Mark Taylor, Katie Gilroy and Co Co Crenshaw setting in Cedar Cove which continues the story of the 'Rose Harbor Inn.'  This read will leave you with some high emotions where one may find themselves laughing to even finding some sad moments.

I liked how this author was able to give us a good story involving Jo Marie and her handy man, Mark which ended up with some surprise that will keep your attention turning the pages getting answers [wanting to know what is up with Mark]...oh well...I guess we will have to wait for that answer to just what secret is Mark keeping from Jo Marie?

Then there were  Jo Marie's  best friends Kellie and Katie who have return to Cedar Cove for their 10 year HS reunion.  Would they be able to 'face down old hunts and find a sense of closure?' Now, to me I will say this was to me some what strange in how all that comes out but OK..with each one having a problem they hope to solve  at this reunion. Now, will this happen...or will they leave this reunion with broken hearts?

All of this author's characters seem to come alive as the reader will be presented with such a well written story that will keep you turning the pages.  This was quite a interesting read where you will find a story of  'letting go of the past and embracing the unexpected.'  I did like the way this author was able to tie these three stories together where the reader will be able to see how they come together by the end of the read where they may find healing and comfort.

"Silver Lining" can be a standalone read but I think it's best to get the other three series for a better understanding of what has gone on earlier.  If you are in for a read of love, forgiveness and second chances then you are at the right place and I would recommend this novel for you.  Oh I don't want to tell you but I will...expect a cliffhanger ending!

"A Promise of Forever" by Pappano

My Thoughts....

This was another good  heartwarming Tallgrass series by this by this author that I really enjoyed reading.  I found the characters were very well developed, portrayed and believable  in this unfolding story.  "A Promise of Forever" will center "on two people’s whose lives have been affected by the death of George Sanderson: his stepson, Ben Noble and his best friends’ daughter, Avi Grant." I enjoyed reading this story that had some military,a well done plot, with some heartwarming characters. I think to fully understand this read it all, the reader should go back and read the series in order.

As this story continues on we find Avi who served with George Noble in Afghanistan is now home in Tallgrass visiting her parents, spending time with Patrica [who was George's wife] and she meets Ben.  We find Ben tries not to have feeling for Avi with her having a military career and his place is only on Oklahoma soil, but as they spend time together ...will this turn into a passionate romance? Will Avi desire a family after all she has been through? Will she get over 'past survivor's guilt, and grief for fallen comrades?'  Will Ben be able to forgive his mother for walking away from her family?
There will be great issues in this story for what each one should do. One person that I didn't care for was the mother Patricia, Ben's mom [which was well presented in another series] but I guess that is another story especially with the advantage she gives her son.  Oh well!

In the end do we get a sweet  romance from these two [Ben & Avi] in this small hometown?  Well, to find out you will have to pick up "A Promise Forever" to see how well this author will bring it all out to the reader.   I did like how this author was able to give us a read that portrayed a military life showing emotions and the struggles they may have to face in everyday life.

"Two Hearts When I Said I Do, I Meant Forever:" by James Eric Richey

My Thoughts....
This was definitely one of those good novels that once you pick it up you will not want to put it down until the very end. The novel is about Jaxon and Annie starting out as sweethearts in HS in a small town in Montana...however they were from different backgrounds...with Jaxon being from a ranch family...loving...caring as Annie from a broken home due to divorce.  The author really brings this out so well in this read.  After Jaxon asked Annie to marry him...things will change due to Annie's mom...where she seems to 'plant a seed in Annie's head that there is no happily ever after.'  Wow! This will cause so many problems for Annie....causing her not to trust Jaxon.  This story will really take off after this with all kinds of twist and turns, with some suspense, mystery  .. with there also beings some family issues that Jaxon will have to face and deal with.  Will these two make it through all the problems that they will have in their married life?  This will be a amazing story that is full of love, action, immaturity,drama, mystery, crime, drugs and trust issues.   Why was this?  Be ready for a long story but when it all said and done however, it was a good well written read and to my surprise...it is presented so well by a male author.  The two main characters...Jaxon...very strong good husband...Annie...well her emotions were all over the place and that mother of hers...well I did try to understand just what Annie was going through. There was definitely a message for the readers...dealing with the word 'trust.'  "Two Hearts" was definitely a read of a story of a couple that went through years of trials ...now how will this come out...will they 'triumph or fail' as they meet their many challenges that seem to continually come.  To find out the answers to all the other questions you will have to pick up the wonderful read to see how this author brings this out so well to the reader. If you are looking for a good read I would definitely recommend "Two Hearts."

"Lost Daughters...Their Untold Secrets" by Charmaine Galloway

My Thoughts....

Truly this was another one of this author's  beautifully told story that will not only keep your attention but give you a wonderful well written story of three women...Golden, Mahogany and Grace.  Each one of these ladies will have their own story that will be off the chain.

As the reader is reading through 'Lost Daughter' you will be presented with three stories from each of these young ladies and being left to wonder what if their  parents hadn't held back a secret that should have been shared much earlier,  Would this have  had a different ending...especially for one of the characters?  I don't want to give away the story but I will say...one will go through anxiety attacks from her past, another will have men relationships even desiring her friend's husband and the last one...well being hurt from finding out that she was adopted that sends her heading in the wrong direction.  In the end...will there be forgiveness?

The author will give the readers one amazing story of how it will all come out and showing that God was in the mix of it all.  I loved how the real mother was able to finally see her wrong and try to fix what had been broken in her life for so long.  I did feel so sorry for one of the characters because in the end well...I will stop and just say..check out this novel.  This was a excellent christian urban read that I would recommend to you.

My Thoughts....

Again...wow....what a read!  I have been holding my breathe so long...I am glad this is the last of this series.   I did have a few questions at the end that I felt were unanswered however, maybe there will be hope for Rhonda because she had caused so much pain to so many people and now she was admitting her crimes. Maybe she will find a true love one day!  Now with Jameson...that was a shock for me because I wanted Lissa to finally get someone that cared for her[however... she will have to first LOVE Lissa]...but again...oh well!  For Shayla, Antonio and Titus...they will be OK!  Thank you to the author for a interesting read of  "Secrets Of A Kept Woman 1, 2 and 3."  This is definitely a series that will keep you thinking long after the read.

My Thoughts........

Wow...what a interesting intriguing read that will keep you turning the pages to see what will be coming next!  Yes, only more drama!  Now we find Shayla happily married with a son and a good job...what more can Shayla ask for take?  However, will she be able to survive with all that is now coming on her...from an ex best friend that seems to come back into Shayla's life?   This is one of those drama reads where you will have it coming at you from the right and left...with the drama, betrayal, scheming and more secrets that keep on coming out.[Now pregnant and cancer??]  The characters in this read are really off the chart defined and believable ..wow...there is  Shayla, Antonio, Ronda, Lissa, Seth, Jennifer, James and some others that will keep your eyes glued to the pages wondering  what more does this author have for the reader in this dramatic thriller read.  Be ready for a read with many unexpected twist and turns that will draw you into each situation and in the end you are given on good read only left wanting more.

This is definitely one of those read that will make you think long and hard  about best friendships.

My Thoughts...

Now, this was one of those stories you will not want to put down with all the drama, lust and lies, emotions and love  that comes from this beautifully written love story will definitely one that will  keep your attention. This is a story about Lela and Cornelius [Neil].  The author presents the reader with some interesting realistic characters that were well developed, defined and believable.  What is so important about this story line is that this can really happen in a marriage!  Be ready for some twist and turns that will really have you on the edge of your seat.    

My favorite part of the read cam from Lela's grandmother Jana [one who has been there and done it].
I will give you a few excerpts...from this read that I thought were excellent  to share...

and another ....[grandmother Jana ....talking to Lela and Neil]....

"Young folks, I tell you.  You can handle anything God puts on you.   Now, I'm going to tell you two like I told Lela in the beginning, because Grandma Jana is not always going to be around to keep this thing tight for you. Never let anyone come in between you two... Marriage is sacred and you should always honor each other before anyone else."  

Now, to me that said it all after reading this well written love story and as it is stated in the title:  "Keepin' It Tight."    

Will Lela and Neil be able to work out their problems?  To find out how this story ends...you will just have to pick up this awesome love story. Would I recommend?  YES!

Another great read from this author that you will get a well conclusion to this series.  This story
was well written filled with all of its drama that comes with revenge, secrets, emotions, viruses, rapes that will keep you turning the pages all the way to the end.  All of the characters were off the chart...well attentive giving the reader a intriguing read.  From Destiny, Hassan, Amaiya, Josiah, Spencer, Tanya, the Judge Morales and to all the rest of the characters will only leave you in awe of it all when its all said and done. Be ready for a good read that will shows how karma comes back to those who deserved it and oh my ...that ending! Get ready ...in the end the reader will get a conclusion to this well written series of  'My Husband's Whore.'  Would I recommend?  Yes...the entire series!

My Thoughts....

Another second episode of  'Loving  A Colombian Cartel Thug 2' was one good urban fiction read only that this author gives to her readers.  It left me saying wow!  This was indeed a well written story about Lorenzo, Rockwell, Rita, Blu, Popeye, Chuey to a few others that will keep you turning the pages. , This author really knows out to keep the readers attention with all of the drama, drama, drama and the secrets that will come out as her stories are given to us from some well developed, believable and intriguing characters.  All I can say is be ready for some twist and turns that you may not have seen coming in this story. It will be quite interesting to see what this author will come up with these characters in our next novel dealing with Lorenzo and Rockwell. Would I recommend "Loving A Colombian Cartel Thug 2?'  YES and it would be a good idea to read this first novel by this author for a little better understanding to what has gone on earlier  for many of these characters.

My Thoughts...

What a awesome read. I will say up front if you haven't read 'Girl, Naw!' then it may be good for you to do so since this is the other part of the wonderful story by this author. I liked how this author brought this story all out giving us the rest of Jacob [aka G.S.]and Marie's story. Now, I don't want to tell you too much to spoil it for you other than to say yes, both of these two have real troubles...from their past. Who will make it out of all of this with one getting just what was deserved and the other one possibly following a better path in life? The author really knows how to hold her readers attention and giving us characters that are well developed, believable and also entertaining. By the end of this read the reader is made to feel relief that justice has been served in this intriguing captivating story. Would I recommend this novel? YES!

My Thoughts.....

This was truly a wonderful engaging story that many people may face daily. It was of great interest the way this author gave the readers such a details of each characters situation that they went through. These stories will definitely will keep your attention. I liked the flow of this story that shared many spiritual insights into this well developed situations. These are very real stories of what one may go through in our daily life's. This author has done a well job with the ups and down twist of stories as they are well presented in this novel. Be ready for some real life issues that may be close to home for many. This story of Antoinette [now a counselor] had a bad start in her life but will she be able to come through it all now that she has a good man and is trusting God? Well, for this part and more the reader will have to pick up 'Girl, Naw!' The characters presented here in this read are really developed and detailed with you getting a story from each one that will keep you turning the pages. This read is definitely one about Antoinette whose 'inspiration and proof that through God anything can happen' for ones good. What big secret had Antoinette held for so long that she hadn't told anyone? What happens after her a prayer from a minister that 'God would set her free?' Will she be able to talk about this to anyone? When it's all said and done...be ready for a good read that will be a very valuable read in the end giving one a 'beautifully written testimonies of forgiveness, scriptures, keeping the faith and deliverance.' Was Antoinette able to help through Walker's Counseling Center...Cynthia Smith, Dorothy Washington, Shalonda Stafford and Julia Kinkade?

Two quotes I loved from aunt Susan..."Don't let the past control your future." And from her friend Yvette.." Remember God is still in control."

I thought this was a awesome read that did have me in tears in certain portions of this inspirational read. The novel will definitely grab your attention as it was an intriguing read and in the end the reader will not only be given a good read but also you will feel truly blessed long after the read.

Thank you to the author for a thought provoking good read! Oh!... I loved the questions for discussion at the end of the novel and also the personal invitation...this was excellently and beautifully presented.

My Thoughts.....

This author really gives the reader quite a story in this part 3 of this novel.  There was quite some drama  in this storyline that will definitely keep your attention till the end where it seems like it all comes together in a very neat package.  The characters ...all of them were simply well developed, defined, some more than others...even believable.  From Jazz, Zenayia, Tami, Damon, Kara, Jennifer, Emani to name a few were all simply off the chart.

I loved this blurb from Jazz:  Is he finally getting the sense of it all?

"If it hadn't cost me $500 I would've tossed it right about now.  Once again I am the one who is cheated on.  What is it with these women these day?  "I'm not gone lie, I've been messing around with Kara, cheating on my wife. But I don't want this life any more.  I miss my son and my daughter.  I  wish everything could return to how it used to be."

I will leave it for the reader to see for yourself how well this author presents to us one interesting series.What a friendship some of these characters had was simply ... I really can't describe it.  You will only have to read it for yourself as the story unfolds especially that brother and sister situation? So, if you are looking for a urban series that is full of drama at its highest... I would definitely recommend this series to you [Catchin' Feelings For A Married Man 1,2 and 3.] to really understand the whole story.

What I liked about this novel....

Wow, what a good read!  I really enjoyed this interracial novel with all of its drama and characters that were off the chart being very defined, developed and just interesting.  I liked how this author was able to bring us a single mom[now divorced] with her children doing so well.    This love story is definitely one that will  really will keep you on the edge of your seat turning the pages until the end...and that ending! This author really knows how to write a well written script that will keep your attention.  Will Destiny and Jacob really be able  get together and be a family in the end? Well, all I will say at this point is that we will have to wait to see!

What I didn't like...

I hate cliffhangers!  So, with that you know you will have to wait until the next book to maybe get the rest of the story?

My Thoughts....

This was definitely one of those reads that once you start reading you will not want to put it down until the end because each chapter will reveal something new. This author knows how to keep your attention presenting the reader a story of three friends from childhood... Shayla, Gladys, and Rhonda were the whole package of 'secrets, betrayals, jealousy, mistrust, infidelity and deceit' that will bring out much drama in this urban fiction read. I will have to add to this list of characters above characters ...Shayla husband, Titus and Gladys husband, James and still there will be a few others on trip. How everyone fits in you will just have to pick up the well written novel to see how well this author brings it all out to the readers. Each of these characters will have their own story[especially the women. You will be left wondering how could a friend not see what they are doing is wrong. You just don't treat a best friend like that! Then, as the story moves on you have a battered housewife and then a unhappy wife who has trouble with keeping her husband's interest at home with her. Be ready for a read of physical and emotional abuse as this story progresses along and will have you shaking your head about that one particular friendship. I liked how this author brought out to the reader maybe it's not a good thing to tell all of your business even to a best friend because it may come back to bite you in the butt in the end ...definitely a message that will make you wonder.

Will there be more of this journey to come from this author? YES!
