A Legal Affair By: Alex Strong

Book Description...

"Elle Peyton has a successful career and a beautiful four-year-old son, what more could she want? Certainly not another man who would only abandon them at the first sign of trouble. She learned that lesson the hard way. Which makes it all the more irritating when Raiden, the ruggedly handsome new junior associate at her father's law firm, gets under her skin.

Raiden Kane may not have been looking, but Elle, the boss' daughter of all people, has definitely got his attention. With a little hard work, something he's no stranger to, Raiden manages to break through her icy interior, discovering the sensuous, vibrant woman within.

Elle sees an opportunity to move forward with her life, but Raiden's dark past threatens to leave an even bigger hole in her heart."

"A Legal Affair" by Alex Strong

My Thoughts...

This was a contemporary romance of how two people..Elle Peyton and Raiden Kane  came together in a very interesting way.  Both had some kind of baggage as to say...Ellie with a husband that had vanish some years ago leaving her with only her now four year old son.  For Raiden was getting rid of his baggage divorcing his wife who was now pregnant with another man's child.  So, when they meet would there be something that would grab at them...like certain likable feelings?  Well, for one it seemed like there was something.  After the two meet and find out a little about each other and things seem to be going great what will come into play when a dark secret comes out?  What will this have to do with Elle's father?  What will happen when a surprise...when Elle's husband comes back on the scene now wanting to be a husband and father?  Well, this is definitely one story that you will have to pick up and see what and how this author presents it so well to the readers.  I found it a delightful well written read short read that once you start reading you it will keep your attention to the end.  Would I recommend?  Yes!

My Thoughts....

This author gave the readers three well written interesting Christian short stories of real life.
These are three anthologies...with the first being:  An Apple a Day...How will a health food store owner Talia Fountain deal with Dr. Brian Coridan as he vacations in Blossom Lake, Wisconsin? In the next story...September Sonata.... What will happen as Krissy and Blaine's marriage is put to the test after he is recovering from a fire accident, the twins have left for college in another state and then Krissy is having to deal with a new 'Christian school principal that is showing interest in her?'  Then last we have the last one...Let It Snow...can Shari Kretlow and Dr. Brenan Sheppard be brought back together  after a past romance and be resurrected in a second chance?  All of these questions and more will be answered as you read through 'Season's of Love.'  I think my favorite one was 'September Sonata' because I felt that a lots of women have dealt with similar situations as this.

I did  found all three short stories were a good reads presenting 'love and faith.'  Would I recommend? If you are into a good Christian read...these would be definitely recommended. .

My Thoughts...

A 'Backwards Christmas' what did that mean?  Well in the South Pole, Alaska that is what they do every single year.  Yes, celebrate a 'Backwards Christmas.'  This author  gives the reader quite a interesting short short read that will have upside down trees and I loved how the mistletoe will come into play as you read the story.  The story being of two people ...Chris Furst who had lost his parent in a tragic way and he seemed to have lost his way being a non believer of the holiday spirit.  Then their is Noelle Richards who had one time been in Chris's life but due to certain reasons things had changed with Christ after his parents had died.   Now, I don't want to tell too much of  the story but we find Noelle is a tour guide and there  will be a lots going on in this small town around this Christmas time. Will there be a turnaround for Chris during this time as he seems to be coming around?  Will he seek the love that he once had with Noelle?  What about his faith?  Will there be a second chance for him and Noelle?  Well, to find out the answers to these questions and more you will have to pick up "Backwards Christmas" to see how well this author will bring it all out to the readers.

This was a beautiful written short Christmas read of how some things are done so very different in South Pole, Alaska.  If you love the cold weather  and something a little different in reading for the Christmas holiday then I would definitely recommend this read especially to you.

My Thoughts...

This was quite a interesting story by this author that featured a younger man [Zack] who was 22 and older woman [Shelly] whose age wasn't given in this story. How these two got together was unique in the sense it was because of a stray dog [Dewey] being found by Shelley that belonged to Zack.  Zack was a professional soccer player there in this small town and Shelly was a widow who worked for her in-laws.  The author gives the readers a sweet well written story about these two people and the dog along with some very intriguing secondary characters that were well developed, portrayed and believable where you will have no trouble keeping up with all that will be going on. What will happen when Shelly and Zack decide to get to know each other?  What problems will that present to them and especially Shelly's in laws.I will say I loved the way the two main characters were able to talk and share with each other their feelings.    Be ready for a little bit of humor along with some serious challenges that will deal with some conflict that will come into play in the story and the twist at the end was just perfect.  Now, I will stop here and say you will have to pick this read up and see for yourself how well this author brings in all out to the reader.  If you are into animals, sports and romance then I would definitely recommend this novel to you.

My Thoughts....

Wow, now this is the kind of read that will keep your attention because this author will present so many twist and turns in this fairytale ...it will be mind blowing all the way to the end!  I will say for the two main characters Lily Forster and Rhett Buchanan...they totally deserved each other. Why was that?   It seems like both of them had problems with the trust issue. I am not sure I cared for the hero even after I found out a little about his background.   I kept saying if each one had been totally honest with each other maybe none of this would have happened to them. But that I guess that would be a different story.  Then when this author adds in friends who tried to help, that Delia person and a few other treacherous people then you are given one heck of a story that will leave you saying 'wow' when it's all said and done. Be ready for a little bit of it all from 'some humor, deceit, treachery and love' giving the readers one fairytale romantic read that had so many misunderstandings that lead to more misunderstandings.    I did think that the ending  needed a epilogue.  Why, well because there were a very important fact that I felt the reader would have loved to know...like what happened to Delia. Maybe since it seems like this is a series, hopefully we will heard some more about 'Ms. Delia.'  Oh well, I guess all reads must come to an end but will we finally get a happy ever after from these two Lily and Rhett?  This is where I say you must pick up  "Cinderella Busted" to find out.  If you are in for a good fairytale read ...this one is for you!

Now 'Greener Grasses' was some read.  Two sisters that were twins that simple did not get along together[no longer than 3 hours], so after their mother dies and makes a request they must fulfill in order to receive their inheritance...will they be able to do it?   I found this a interesting read as this author gives us two families that will have to work together whether they wanted to or not.  I loved how the husbands were drawn into this situation with their spouses[John & Robert].  From the funeral to the end this will be one powerful  but meaningful journey for Erin and  Ellen.  End the end as they discover "flaws in their grass-greener lives will that revelation be able to them appreciate their husband and lifestyle according to the plan of God?" Yes, there will be a Christian expect in this read. I loved how this author presents this story to the readers. There will even be some humor in all of this.  It seems like even the children [Travis, Austin, Brittany, Elena & Jade]which will be drawn into this will come out in a better light. What will happen in the end for these two sister?    I will stop here and only say you will have to pick up "Greener Grasses" to see how well written this author brings it all out to the readers.   Would I recommend?  Yes!

My Thoughts...

This was another Amish series of the 'Prairie State of Friends #3' that continues on from this author's last novel...'The Gift.'  To really get the full understanding of what all has gone on in earlier series, I would suggest you read the other two series.  Now with this series we find this author deals with Priscilla, Elam and David as the main characters. Then you will have a lots of secondary characters
Cora, Jared, Adam, Elaine, Ben, Jonah to many others from the earlier series that will blend in as questions will be answered in this story.  I found these characters well defined, developed, portrayed and oh so believable giving the readers a good read that will keep your attention.  It seems that there are two young men wanting Priscilla's attention.  How will she handle all of this? "Will flames of jealousy rage out of control and ruin lives? Can forgiveness allow love and trust to grow? "  To get these answers and so much more the reader will have to pick up "The Restoration" to find out!

I thought this author  gives the readers one interesting Amish read that will bring in many other characters [from earlier series] that will make this story very intriguing  and well written.  Be ready for some inspirational verses that will be presented that will speak to your heart and also such details [in the story] that makes the story flow so very well as one reads chapter to chapter.  I did feel that toward the end the story seemed somewhat rushed a little but I know all good reads must come to a end.  I did like as always this author adding  at the end of the story a recipe that was talked about during the read [Priscilla's Friendship Salad] along with some good discussion questions that will give the readers something to think about long after the read.

My Thoughts...

This was some read that you really had to keep up to truly understand what all is going on giving the reader some timeline that was somewhat hard to follow. But in the end this author gives the reader quite a unique way of telling a story.  The chapters which were rather short really jumped around quite a bit from character to character.  I believe if each chapter had been titled in such a way to let the reader know who that particular [character] was about would have helped a bit with the reading of the story.  As the read was presented I found it left the story a little choppy to me. Now, this main character Marta was one complicated person ...all I will say is wow...for she was 'rich, loved to drink the spirits and was simply a spoiled person.'  Will Marta ever find a happy ending...maybe becoming a runner will help?  I did like how this author presented the descriptions of Mexico's culture.  This was definitely a different kind of read for me that really left me thinking...just really what is this story all about?  OK, this is one of those kind of reads that may leave you hanging wondering what happened in the end with that abrupt ending...a marathon run? Believe me when I say I was glad for the ending!

The Changing Season By Steven H. Manchester

 Book Description...

"This was supposed to be a simple summer for Billy; one more lazy expanse of time before college began. He'd fill the hours playing with Jimmy – his canine best buddy – going camping and doing all the things he promised Jimmy they'd do before Billy left.

But that was before the accident that shook the entire town.

It was before the summer job that turned into something so much more than a way to get a paycheck.

And it was before Vicki.

This summer was destined to be many things to Billy, things he didn't truly understand until now. But it was definitely not going to be simple.

An enormously touching, richly textured, deeply moving novel of new adulthood, THE CHANGING SEASON is an experience to savor."

All in all with all that goes on in this story the author gives the reader a well written story that will keep your attention all the way to the end. One thing for sure if you want to learn about dogs that have been in a shelter/pound....this is one excellent read that will explain it all to the reader. There was a part of the story that I did find it somewhat predictable, however I will say it did not take away from the fact the story was still a good read. In the end be ready for a good read that deals with 'age tales, dogs, test of friendship, loyalty, great job and first love.' That ending was quite a tearful one for me! Would I recommend this read to a teenager and up. Yes! This was truly one amazing story! Oh, I also wanted to mention that beautifully done book cover!

Thank you to the author for this read in exchange of my honest opinion of the novel.

"Cameron 7:  The Finale" by Jade Jones

My Thoughts...

All I can say is that author really knows how to bring a series to a  perfect close.  Well done
is all that is left for me to say about this wonderfully written story of Cameron and  Jude.  Now,
so complete the story the readers from Roxie, Magyc, Michael, Juicy [Diane], Tara, Jag, Alessia, Rico, Kwon [and I am sure I have left someone out] giving the readers one interesting series  read! e There are seven in this series and this was the last one and I would definitely suggest if you haven't read the other six...do so to really understand it all!  Be ready for a little bit of it all from love, killings, betrayals, steamy hot sex, fighting,  and so much more before well... I will stop here and say to get it this wonderful 'Cameron 7'  to see how well this author brings out this ending so well to her
readers.  Would I recommend this series?  YES!

This was a read from my January Amazon Prime.

My Thoughts....

I thought 'Raspberry Kisses' was a beautifully told Christian Love Story. This author did a good
job in telling the story that was about Rhea ,,,her twin sister, Raven...and Martin. Now, how these
three people tie into this well written story you will have to pick up this read to see who get with whom? Who will this pastor what in his life? What problems will be presented to him as he has
one goal for his life? There will be some secondary characters that will add to this well developed, defined and well believable read that will help in keeping your attention all the way through the read.

Be ready for a read that presents 'love, faith and forgiveness' all the way through the story. Will Rhea, Raven and Martin in the end get what they wants in their life? Would I recommend this novel? Yes!

"Forever and Always Collection" by E. L. Todd

My Thoughts...

Well, I will say I liked it.  I didn't have the privilege to read it but I was able to listen to it from my
Kindle and rather enjoyed the read.  The story was presented in three books put together ...starting with 'Only For You' moving on to 'Forever and Always' and then the third one...'Edge of Love.' I was left thinking what a plot and thought while listening to all of the read that this author did a rather good job in her presentation of the story.  What is even more interesting is to find out that there will be another 18 stories from the 'Forever and Always Collection.' As the story goes on from one story [series] it will tie into the next the read, The readers will get even  more from these very interesting, defined, well portrayed characters as new ones come into the scene.  I am sure that Sean, Scarlet [Scar] and many other characters will have you turning the pages to see what will come next because believe me this whole story is one moving roller coaster ride. Yes, there will be some characters that will have you wanting to pull your hair out while some  others...well these are really some dysfunctional and even hilarious family people.  If you can just sit back and listen as I did and get through the first story and on to the next I think you will be able to see how well this author puts it all together for her readers.  Like I said earlier I was able to listen and understand all that was going on and thought this is really going to be some series when it's over...remember there will be 18 more novels!  Be aware this is a 'adult read' so be ready for lots of craziness along with some hot steamy sex...yes graphic sex! I will say after reading this collection I will be ready to read more of this series by this author.  I do hope that these two main characters [Sean & Scarlet] will find their happily ever after, however I am sure it will be quite a up hill journey getting there for them.  Would I
recommend this series? Yes,only if this is your kind of read.

Can the Matchmakin’ Posse of Mule Hollow help this couple find their happily ever after?"

**~EXCERPT~**
"Get in there, you ornery hunk of steaks," Maddie Rose gritted out through clamped teeth while thrusting all of her weight into pushing the cattle trailer's rear gate closed. A hard task since her hundred twenty pounds didn't hold up against Buford's two thousand pound bulk. Needless to say, despite all of her shoving and pushing. Despite all of her exertion. Buford's big, hairy rump hadn't budged even an inch! Nope, there it was—hanging out over the back end of the trailer.
Firmly in the way of the latch.
"C'mon, only a few more inches," she coaxed, pushing, giving it everything she had. But the bull wasn't buying it. He didn't budge.
"Arrrg," she growled, frustration nearly getting the better of her.
This should have been a piece of cake—an easy load-up. Ha!
Bull-headed Buford messed that up deciding he wanted off rather than on.
Just Maddie's luck.
And what was new about that? "Nothing," she grumbled.
She wasn't a whiner, but there was no getting around the hard truth that most things in Maddie's life hadn't come easy. She'd been fighting for survival since the moment of her existence—a sickly baby only a few weeks old at best estimation, found alone, sitting in a carseat. Yup—just sitting on the steps of the post office like she belonged there.
Obviously, she didn't belong anywhere.
Maybe before that, but unlike most people Maddie had no recollection, no records, nothing...as far as her life record went she hadn't existed until that day in the post office when she was found.
If she'd been a whiner she wouldn't have made it.
No, Maddie was a survivor so she'd grown used to days like today. But it sure was getting old.
Buford's attitude was a sharp reminder she'd better not get comfortable with the good fortune that had recently come her way.
Owner.
The thought dazzled her. Like a beautiful sparkly gift under the Christmas tree that she knew had to belong to someone else...and yet it was hers.
She really was part owner of this magnificent New Horizon ranch. An amazing cattle ranch sitting on the outskirts of Mule Hollow, the most embracing little town she'd ever known."

"The Christmas Knot: A Slightly Gothic Regency Mystery Romance Novella"  by Barbara Monajem

My Thoughts...

A historical 'Gothic' romance with a ghost story that had a little bit of romance, curse, mystery, murder, suspense and forgiveness.  Add to that lovable children[Lizzie and John] during this wonderful Christmas time  and the reader gets a good read.  Will this widowed lady that had lost her inheritance, now a governess in a haunted house be able to work for this Lord who just happened to be her former lover?  What was up with this treasure [necklace] that was hunted?  Why was this necklace [mysterious jewels] so important in this read in this Ballister curse on the first born son?   Will Edwina be able to solve this mystery with all of its twists?

Be ready for some ghost as one will see how the house was haunted.  I liked how these former lovers [two main characters... Edwina and Richard] who had separated due to a misunderstanding [deceit] and years later comes together again giving the reader as quite a interesting heart warming read. Will they be able to rediscover their lost love?  To get all of these questions answered and more the reader will have to pick up this good read to see how well this author will bring out this enjoyable read.

Would I recommend this Christmas novella?  Yes!

My Thoughts...

I loved the read. "One More Night with You"had some of the characters from 'The Blue Dynasty Series'  which involved the owners of the Las Vegas Slayers. It was quite interesting seeing a former DEA agent Josephine de la Pena meeting up once again with  Zaf Ahmadi.  Would Joey be able to trust Zaf ever after what had happened to her due to the fact that he was the cause of it happened?  What had happened to Joey?  Be prepared for a story that will have a lots of twist and turns but it will definitely keep you turning the pages to see what was next for these two. Will Zaf be able to forgive himself for what he had done to Joey?  To see how this all comes out you will have to pick up 'One More Night with You' seeing how well it all  ties into a wonderfully written story. Be ready for the criminal element that comes to light, weddings, dangers lurking, and even help coming from Joey's parents. Now, I will say that was certainly a surprise!  In the end of the story will these two be able to put their past behind and get back to what they once had?  Would I recommend?  Yes!

My Thoughts...

I happened to be looking at this author's novels and thinking I had read all of her novels, but I
found out that I hadn't read "One Night in Vegas.' So, I was able to find, read and I loved it. I am so
glad I did read it because it was a good read that tied into this author's 'Blue Dynasty' series. The read was a short read....novella that dealt with two main characters... Krissy and Russo. What will
happen when a friend set up her friend with her date she didn't want to go on? Well, for Krissy just thinking she was just helping her friend Charlotte out...who would have thought she would enjoy this one night with ....and he would also? Will this be just one night for these two? Now, I will stop here and say you will have to pick this one up and see how well this author presents this short read to the readers.
