"The Determined Lawyer" by Freya Atwood
The Assessment:
'The Determined Lawyer' was another one of this author's well-done novels. Olivia Allen has been asked by her boss Grant Lowell to handle a case no one else wanted. However, coming back from maternity leave, she does return, and questions work with her previous assistant Myrtle Chambers. After being worked out, Olivia visits the new client who was accused of murdering twins Allison & Betty Robinson, whom he had babysat for some time. However, after Olivia meets Bernard Anderson, she decides he is innocent of that crime and takes the case.
As the investigation continues, we find Olivia, Myrtle, and investigator Harold, who has worked with Olivia, looking into the case of what and who may be involved in this murder. While this is happening, it seems like Olivia is being bothered by Trevor...her ex-husband, who is going against his restraining order. However, for some reason, she does not want to get the cops involved, so she chooses to stay with her sister Kathryn...as she will keep the baby Grace while Olivia is working on this case. That situation turns out to be most interesting in what Olivia finds out later about her sister Kathryn. Be ready for a story full of interesting secondary characters that will keep your interest while reading this story.
The case will go on, and there will be many twists and turns before it all comes out who is guilty of these murders. Here is where you will have to pick up 'The Determined Lawyer' to see how well this author will give the readers a fascinating, exciting story that you will now want to put down until the end.
