Will the greatest good triumph over supreme evil? Is there really a God? And if you have any questions as to God's purpose for humanity, by the time you finish reading the nail biting suspense Dark Horse Assassin trilogy, you will have no doubt as to what your purpose in this life is."

What I liked about the book....

Wow, this author  really know how to keep your attention with such a powerful read that once you get into what all is going on will find it hard to put down until you have finished and then you will be left wanting more!  I asked the author just what was this genre because to me it could have been several ones.  We are given a story that will have you thinking of the read long after you have put it down.  It definitely will have you thinking of how the world is going on NOW.  Has any of these situation changed in what is going on in the world today?  I loved this quote:

"And if you have any questions as to God's purpose for humanity, by the time you finish reading the nail biting suspense Dark Horse Assassin trilogy, you will have no doubt as to what your purpose in this life is."

I thought this was a wonderful told story and I will say you will have to keep up because there will be so many twist and turns from this character to that character if you don't you may get lost.  I had to reread several time s to keep up with it all but it was worth it ...in the end I will say you have a well written novel of what our end could be.

I found the characters were well developed, memorable , some likable, defined, colorful and believable with this author giving some extra details that made each scene complete and intriguing where you wanted only to read more of the read.

My overall impression of this novel...

You will be left at the end wanting more ... of just what was in store now that Miracle has arrived and what will she do as the situation as turned horrible ...  "Thousand of men and boys are trampled to death and  her man now locked up by this government."

"Four Friends" by Robyn Carr...

Book Description....

"Gerri can't decide what's more devastating: learning her rock-solid marriage has big cracks, or the anger she feels as she tries to repair the damage. Always the anchor for friends and her three angst-ridden teenagers, it's time to look carefully at herself. The journey for Gerri and her family is more than revealing—it's transforming.

Andy doesn't have a great track record with men, and she's come to believe that for her a lasting love is out of reach. When she finds herself attracted to her down-to-earth, ordinary contractor—a man without any of the qualities that usually appeal to her—she questions everything she thought she wanted in life.

Sonja's lifelong pursuit of balance is shattered when her husband declares he's through with her New Age nonsense and walks out. There's no herbal tonic or cleansing ritual that can restore her serenity—or her sanity.

Miraculously, it's BJ, the reserved newcomer to Mill Valley, who steps into their circle and changes everything. The woman with dark secrets opens up to her neighbors, and together they get each other back on track, stronger as individuals and unfaltering as friends."

What I liked about this novel....

This was a beautiful, well absorbing amazing story of four women Gerri, Andy, Sonja and BJ who were all rather a complex bunch as it is discovered that it looks like the whole neighborhood was falling about.  You will find one of the  ladies are just too perfect( a control freak)...definitely one that made me laugh out loud, another one(new to the neighborhood) who has some dark secrets that  has her just wanting to keep to herself, another friend who was working  on her second divorce, however, was she the one that goes after and get  what she wants in the end?... and then last one seems to be the friend that had it all but did she really? What will happen after she finds out that her husband had had an affair some years ago?  So, her marriage isn't as solid as she thought.   This was one captivating read about a friendship and with a little of it all showing 'support, tough love, humor, sarcasm' and in the end  you get a wonderful well written story.  Didn't  these women  have the perfect lives?  What will happen after they discover that some of them didn't have the perfect life after all? Counseling? Now, I will not talk to much  about these ladies men other than say they were all some interesting men ...Phil, George, and Bob.  You will just have to read "Four Friends' for yourself to see what all is up with them!

This author really gives the reader a  story with of these four women's subplots that do combine so smoothly that will give the reader  a great description of each of these ladies struggles and realness of the friendships.  It's a beautiful read as you will see each of the ladies under go such a life changing experience from 'mental, physical, spiritual awakening where in the end will become even more stronger than they were in the beginning...with issues such as 'menopause, abuse, depression, infidelity,  divorce, unfaithful spouses, out of control children, abuse,  heartless exes, keeping  secrets to new friendships.  In the end will these women  get the importance of family, companionship and friendships. I will only say to get it all you must pick 'Four Friends' this author.

This is definitely one of those reads that if you are reading or listening to it will keep your attention and you will find it hard to put down until the end.  It was quite a interesting read where you see these four strong women find their way from a dark time in their lives.  Would I recommend?  Yes!

"Richard Pryor And The World That Made Him" by David Henry & Joe Henry

Book Description....

"No one who saw Richard Pryor alone on stage with nothing but a microphone in his hand could have doubted that here was a man possessed of genius. But few have any sense of the strange, violent, and colorful landscape from which he emerged.

His childhood in Peoria, Illinois, was spent just trying to survive. Yet the culture into which he was born—his mother was a prostitute; his grandmother ran the whorehouse—helped shaped him into one of the most influential and outstanding performers of our time.

Pryor attracted admiration and anger in equal parts. He was a comedian who many consider the greatest ever, yet his triumphant stand-up work has been largely eclipsed by his mediocre movie output. His personal life was likewise something of a contradiction, because Pryor was a man of deep intelligence and sensitivity yet was also someone who could never seem to make the pieces of his life come together to create a whole. His was a fascinating, larger-than-life personality; he was as pivotal and essential a figure as Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, or Muhammad Ali. Pryor the solo artist brought to a pop-obsessed generation the news that they had a past with deep roots that spoke to our shared humanity. Through David and Joe Henry, Richard Pryor speaks to us still."

What I like about this novel.....

I found this novel very interesting.  Yes, I was one who  watch some of  Mr.. Pryor's  movies.  I especially love watching with my sons the one called 'Moving.'  I never laughed so hard in my life...oh well let's get to my thoughts on the novel where after reading this novel I found is story rather a  sad one.  The authors however did give the reader a well written script of Mr. Pryor's life that gives a thoughtful look at this person, his relationships, his work and his internal struggles.  Yes, even with all that was on Mr. Pryor was one of the greatest stand up artist.  I thought the read was good and very informative read of Mr. Pryor, who was a 'standup comedy, pop and social cultures during the years of 1960 and 70's, and historian of those turbulent decades.'  If you are a fan of Mr. Pryor, this read would be of interest to you and I would definitely recommend this to you.

"Destiny's Captive" by Beverly Jenkins...

Book Description....

"In national bestselling author Beverly Jenkins' Destiny series, the Yates men play hard and live hard. And when they find that special woman, they fall hard . . .

Noah Yates fully believes in the joys of a happy family and a good wife. But that's not the life for him. No, he would much rather sail the wild seas in search of adventure, not tied down. But then the unthinkable happens . . . he finds himself literally tied down. To a bed. By a woman.

And Pilar isn't just an ordinary woman. She's descended from pirates. And after giving him one of the worst nights of his life, she steals his ship! Now Noah is on the hunt, and he'll stop at nothing to find this extraordinary woman . . . and make her his."

What I liked about this novel....

I thought "Destiny's Captive" was a very interesting historical romance and is a series # 3.  This was definitely one read that will keep your attention because there will be a lots going on  as this author gives the reader a wonderful well written read.  If you are into adventure and pirates...a good romance you have come to the right place for a interesting read all the way to the end.   Be prepare for a read of sweet romance that will be encased with some real interesting secrets in  1870's in this setting from ventures in Cuba, Florida and California.

This story had a very interesting plot where I did find it somewhat confusing to me through some of the reads but from some of the  twist and turns with few secrets that did came to light did kept me reading.  I was glad I did continue to read because after a while I did start to enjoy the flow of the read.

What I especially liked about the novel....

The heroine Pilar was a very interesting character being well developed...so likable and being strong showing her doubting kindness, however she wasn't just any women..."she steals a ship".  Then there was the hero Noah who had a real dark side  but when it came to Pilar he was so taken with her.
Truly these two were perfect for each other with some real hot steamy scenes.  Now, to get the whole  story of how these two hooked up  I would say to pickup "Destiny's Captive" to see how it is presented to the reader.  Would I recommend...Yes, however it may be a good idea to read the first two series because I think there will be a good connection to the read in doing so.

Here is a little summary of The Destiny Series:

"This new three book series set in 1880s California, introduces ranch owner Alanza Yates and her three sons: Logan, Andrew and Noah. Destiny’s Embrace is the story of Logan and his housekeeper Mariah. The second book Destiny’s Surrender, also scheduled for a 2013 publication centers on middle brother Andrew and his very non-traditional heroine Whilemina (Billie) Wells. [...] The third in the series - Noah’s book will follow in 2014" which is the novel review above: "Destiny's Captive."

"The Fortunes of Blues and Blessings" by Karen Sloan-Brown

Book Description....

"From the beginning, as written in Genesis 8:22, "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease." Described by many as the two faces of fortune, it is the blues and our blessings, one causing much heartbreak and the other providing immense joy. The Fortunes of Blues and Blessing is a historical American saga telling the story of a black family in America beginning in 1849 that spans more than 100 years and five generations. The family tree takes root in Sierra Leone with the capture of a young African named Zokaya, he's carried across the waters and sold as slave in Charleston, SC and then taken to a rice plantation on Ossabaw, a sea island off the coast of Savannah, GA where he is renamed, Hercules. Rice driver for the Bailey Plantation he takes a family for his own, Rachel, and then her daughter Maia. As Richard Bailey's obsession, Maia grows up in the big house until the start of the Civil War. When Richard flees the plantation she returns to Ossabaw pregnant with her daughter Diana where she meets and marries Aaron, a man skilled in construction taking refuge on the island. As the years run on the family prospers and moves inland. Maia becomes a writer and Aaron a man of business in construction. Diana goes to college in Nashville and becomes a Fisk Jubilee Singer and travels the world. She struggles with her ambitions to be a famous singer. Maia struggles with her grief over lost children. Aaron struggles with his desire to make a difference for his people. Through their fortunes and misfortunes of life it's evident how moments of chance and decision can affect the direction of our lives. Described as a cross between Roots and Forest Gump the story carries the reader on a journey with this family where they encounter actual black people who have made significant contributions to African-American History."

What I liked about the novel....

This was a good read that this author gives to the reader  which involved  over one hundred years and five generations.  When I first started reading this I was simply amazed at how this author will take you from one situation right into the next all being so smoothly done. The characters were simply off the chart very well done, well developed, defined, colorful, believable all of this giving the reader such a fascinating and captivating read about this Liberty Family.  You will come to know Zokaya, later named Hercules, Rachel, Maia, Diana, Aaron, Caesar to  David only there will be  more secondary characters  as we go on this journey from Africa to Ossabaw Island and then on later to Savannah, Georgia.  This is a very powerful and emotional time in history (1849's) even though this read is of fiction a lots of the names and areas are really there making this read quite interesting.

What I especially liked about this novel...

The storyline is one that will take you in from sadness of some very horrible times to happiness for a moment  and back and forth... at times definitely leaving you  so raw with all the pain that these people went through..  Bye the end of this story I was truly in awe of it all because there will be some much going on.  My favorite part was at the ending with Maia "lifting her arms up in triumph in the  midst of the cool evening air that surrounds her...and says I see you, God." What that meant to me was through all this family had gone through...she sees God in it all.   "The Fortunes of Blues and Blessings"  will be a unforgettable read that will be with you long after the read.  When I think of how it was in history for many Black  people to have gone through so much .... and how it is now 2014)... what a change....we have a Black President!  You will just have to pick up this read for yourself  to see how this author presents her excellent well written story to the readers.  By the end of the read you will want to pick up this author next novel:  A New Season: Blues and Blessings Part Two where we will find out more about Diana..

"A Reflection:  What a Difference a Day Makes,  What About 100 Years?" by Karen Sloan-Brown

Book Description...

"A contemporary history book that expands before and beyond the Civil Rights Movement in a decade by decade examination of the journey of Black Americans from Jim Crow in 1909 to Barack Obama in 2009. The book is designed to be informative as well as entertaining, covering a broadly based range of subject matter. Every reader will find a decade in which they can identify or relate to as they follow the changes that have taken place in the aspects of black life in the United States, black leadership, business and personal finances, black thinking and aspirations, culture, values, attitudes, how have they affected the quality of life and personal growth for African Americans today. The book notes the trials and the triumphs, along with the missteps, how black people have evolved economically, socially, educationally, politically, and artistically? Who were the leaders, who was a hero, what was the role of the church, how were we living, where were we living, what books were we reading, and who were the athletes and the entertainers. It is a full menu that characterizes each decade for the reader to experience that journey of 100 years."

What I liked about this novel...

This author does a wonderful well written job with this historical non fictional  novel.  I was simply captured with all of this history that went into this 'Reflection'  of the wonderful read.  I was simply amazed being able to find all this in creditable information of 'Black' people over the last  one hundred years in this one novel. It was very interesting seeing how this author has brought it all out to the reader showing and still asking the question has one  'evolved economically, socially, educationally, politically, and yes even artistically."  I do find it still a question to whether we "have come full circle or is it likely that we have detoured on some tangent from one obtuse angle?"  These are some very important questions that this author has brought out for the readers to ponder on.  Now, I don't want to tell you too much other than say I love this informational novel and I just want you to pick it up and read it for yourself and see how well this author presents this well written work of art to the readers.

This author starts with the year 1909 and her research goes up to the year 2009 and I must say she gives the reader some real important  information of what was going on during that time in history.
I found this read very easy to follow and understand.  Being  a history major and yes a Black American  I really enjoyed what I read, even learned from the read as well as to  reflect from  this  read.  This author's table of content for each of these years are very captivating so well presented.  I love the format of  this author's  'Table of Contents.'   At the end of each year (1909-2009) I liked the read of the  'Reflection on a Decade' that was simply off the chart and very well presented giving  one some good information to know about  in each of  these sections.

What I especially liked about the novel...

If you are a history buff  especially of 'Black History' this read will definitely be for you and with saying that I would definitely recommend to you "A Reflection:  What a Difference a Day Makes, What About 100 Years?  It left me saying Wow... what a intrguing and interesting  historical read.

"The Blood of Titans" by C. Michael Forsyth

Book Description...

"The Blood of Titans is a unique love story set in the Golden Age of Africa. It is the tale of Halima, a teenage princess who falls in love with a warrior king. Enormous obstacles lie in the way of their happiness. In the course of their adventures, Princess Halima learns about loss, duty, and the high price of romantic love -- and must make a choice that determines the future of kingdoms."

What I liked about the novel....

I found this novel a good romance fiction novel mostly written in third person and I wasn't able to put down until I had entirely finished it. There would be a important decision for this princess Halima who was only fifteen at this time to make. Would she marry the neighboring King (The People of the Snake and Baka Kingdoms)to prevent wars between the nations or her true love that she has found along this journey? What has happened? It seems like during the travel there will be a encounter of the giants of Baka Kingdom and this will be where Halima will offer herself a slave and a potential wife in exchange for her servants go free to get help...and this is when this novel takes off. This author really works this well written storyline as Halima makes it to this chosen kingdom to marry or will there be some obstacles that will cause her to change her mind? This is where I say you must pick up this action packed good read with some twist to see how this author will bring it all out to the reader. Believe me, it will be captivating story. Be ready for some 'proverbs, songs, stories and culture' that will be presented in the read with some interesting descriptions of Africa.

"The Blood of Titans" will have several different kinds of characters...one kind from her family/kingdom and then the others from The People of the Snake and Baka Kingdoms both being somewhat interesting people who seem for the some were for the most part well develop, defined, lovable, loyal and believable.

What I especially loved about this novel...

Not only did I like the good read but I also loved this book cover. At first when I looked at the cover I thought that this novel was of fantasy but it really was a romantic read with a historic detailed touches where you will find yourself wanting to help Halima with some of her choices. Would I recommend "The Blood of Titans as a good read?" YES!

What I liked about this novel....

This was definitely one of those reads that had a little bit of it all to describe this well written story of "Insane Circumstances"  from fear, anger, powerful, frustration, ashamed, moving, explosive, to disturbing. Imagine going to college and finding it hard to find friends and all because of your skin color.  I loved how this author was able to give the reader a well plotted storyline.

The novel is definitely one of those reads that once you start the read you will find it hard to put down until the end.  I found this read horrible in what this heroine had to go through but I found her quite a fighter who was not a easy one to give up.  Be ready for some emotions that will lead to laugh and yes even cry.  The characters were all for the most part well developed, well portrayed, real and very believable giving the reader a good historical and entertaining events that will never be forgotten in the south.

This was the third series of  'The Blue Dynasty' and it was a good read where this one is about Martha Blue  who was one of the youngest but not a pushover.  So, what she rebellious and just wanted to have a good time?  Yes, but was there more to Martha than just that because she was able to have a few secrets of her own from her family. I loved how Martha was a strong women who fought for what she believed in showing how her hard work and determination...well I will stop here and let you read it for yourself.

Now to add to this story there was Joaquin (Las Vegas Prince) who seemed like a 'lost soul' that would leave him wanting to prove something  of who he was ...from his past.  This is a deep read that you will have to keep up with the read because there will be twist and turns as you read through each of these characters raw emotions.  In the end will these two be able to fight for the genuine love that they really have for each other?

I found the characters very well developed, well rounded, well portrayed, colorful and believable giving the reader an excellent read of what all is going on.  Martha's mother was really some pill to shallow and I did like the addition of the new character by the name of  Avery who became part of Martha's family.

This author was able to really give the reader the description of just what was going on at that time and  in the end giving us a well written script that will keep you turning the pages till the end.

I will say to learn more about this series ('The Blue Dynasty)  I would suggest you read the first two series first before reading this one, however, "Just For Christmas Night"  is a stand alone read.  I found "Just For Christmas Night" was one interesting read where you will get a little of it all.... from 'past  lust, desire, acceptance, trust to even some new choices'  and with saying that I would definitely recommend this novel and just a heads  up ....there will be another romance from this author's  The  Blue Dynasty series, 'Mine Tonight' coming soon!

What I liked from the novel...

This was a Christian read that will give you much food for thought long after the read.  The author does a good job a giving the reader  a very captivating story that will keep you turning the pages till the end.  The main characters Maxwell  and Lina are two very interesting characters with one having 'suffered a cruel heartbreak.'  Maxwell first sees Lina in church and wants to meet Lina and when they do meet there will be a attraction.  However, what was going on with Lina from her pass and what will happen when it all comes out to what the reason was for keeping Maxwell far away really turns out to be a quite a interesting read.  Will there be some spiritual and some unconditional forgiveness and love all twisted up in this  'Positive Deception?'  In the end will Lina be his one and only?

What I liked about the novel...

This was definitely one of those reads that had so many twist and turns  and action packed that will hold your attention as  you are reading this well written story. What a story of such pain that Amira had to endure in this game of chess.  From the loss of her brother, close friends then joining 'La Famila' will she finally get the respect she deserves? Will this help her build up some confidence with killing abilities becoming more dangerous?   This author does a good job at letting the reader feel Amira's  pain in this urban fiction read.   All the characters for the most point are a intriguing group and I will say a few did had me shaking my head.  This author really gives the reader something to think about with the main character starting out very innocent but omg in the end Amira is one deadly....person to reckon with. I will stop here and say to find out what all the author has in store for Amira you will have to pick up the read to find  out.   In the end you will find out that you will have to go to the sequel to see what is next for Amira.

What I liked about the novel....

This was a well written  fabulous American pioneer  story of the history of Harmony, Texas told by this author.  This was definitely a story that is brought to life showing all the emotions... loving, sad, happy and even awed from some of  all of it.  You will be presented a story that makes it seem as if you are right there in the midst of it all through the pain and heart ache that many of these characters have gone  through.  I found this novel very interesting and how this author was able to give us the 'Harmony' series was simply amazing giving us the characters backgrounds  from many  of her previous series.  From Harmon Ely, to Clint Truman, to Patrick McAllen and then on to Captain Gillian Matteson you will get a complete romantic adventure story that will keep you turning the pages until the end.

What I especially liked about "A Place Called Harmony"...

If you are looking for a good western historical romance you have come to the right place because "A Place Called Harmony" will give it to you....a simply good read  By the time you get to the end of this story there will be an excerpt from the next Harmony series:  'One True Heart' that is scheduled to come out April, 2015 and I am sure the readers will be looking for this good read.

"Momma Said, "Hit 'Em Back!"    By:  Cynthia Amis Dickerson/ Marian Matthews Nance

A quote from this read by the author....

"Momma Said, "Hit 'Em Back!" inserted paragraph from Chapter 20:

Don't wait! If you know that you are tired of sinning and living a worldly life, give your life to Jesus Christ. Repeat these words. "I know that I am a sinner and I need a Savior. I believe by faith that, Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. God please come into my life and show me how to live for you."

What I liked from this novel....

I received this novel from the Author Cynthia A. Dickerson at a Book Festival in Memphis where she opened up the book and started reading to me.  I found this novel a short but very fascinating in that it definitely left me wanting to read this novel to see what all it had to offer.  I am so glad I did because I did find this read indeed a excellent read of redeeming hope for this young man named Louvious Johnson.  Being accused of a crime and spending fifteen years in prison...he walks out a free man.  What I loved about this read was how the author was able to bring out how Louvious to was delivered and saved while incarcerated.  I found this novel a very good  one is that you are able to feel the release as this character walks through it all and in the end becoming a....well I don't want to tell to much other than to pick up this is a excellent read of "Momma Said, "Hit 'Em Back!" This was beautifully brought out  of what can happen if you listen and be lead by God will.  You will feel the pain and struggle of this young man and in the end...what a new life that has been given to him.  The reader will be left wondering about the mother(Louvenia) of this young man. Wow, she was quite a character. I am sure we will find out more about her in the next novel by these authors......'Momma's  Journey to Hell and Back.'

My Overall impression of the read....

Besides this being a excellent read the authors also give the readers more food for thought as they present us at the end of the read with a workbook that "transforms the individual reader through introspection and group  verbal  stimulation that will bring about the insight  to resolve internal and external problems."  Would I recommend "Momma Said, "Hit 'Em Back!"  YES!

"Preacherman Blues" by Jihad

Book Description:

PREACHERMAN BLUES is the story of

Best friends...Mega preachers…One good….One evil….

As kids, Terrell "TJ" Money and Percival "PC" Turner had one goal – become big-time preachers. But once they accomplished that goal, heading up One World Faith; the largest church in the Southeast, the best friends disagree on just how they should be leading their flock. TJ is living up to his name and looking to capitalize on a congregation more than willing to shell out big bucks for a “man of God”. Percival tries hard to walk the straight and narrow, but eventually the lure of the bling leads him astray.

Can either survive?

When PC tries to right his wrong ways, the battle lines will be drawn and best friends will see sides of each other they never knew existed. Soon, TJ gets down and dirty – pulling up every trick and devastating secret to keep his holy money train rolling. Will Percival learn the hard way that TJ is a sinner who doesn’t want to be saved? And if he does, will it be in time enough to stop tragedy from turning his own life upside down? When the dust settles someone will definitely be singing the Preacherman Blues.

What I liked about the novel....

Yes, this was a very interesting read in the world of mega churches.  This was a very captivating story  of these two childhood friends who were now pastors of the largest  churches in Atlanta which was a dream to have their ministry and it was called 'One World Faith. AME.'   I loved how this author was able to bring it all out front and center to the reader  when we find from the read that one pastor  was really trying to serve God and his people and then there was the other pastor who definitely was not showing his vindictiveness  in all of his actions.  It seems like when they become rich from their congregation  that 'greed' will become  very ugly front and center.  What will happen when one of the pastor try to right the wrongs that are taking place in the church?  There will be so many twist and turns in the read so get ready for: some 'manipulation, deception, murder, adultery, suspense, greed, lust' and I am sure there is more to add to this list. Be prepared to laugh and even cry at some of the  situations that will go on with these colorful characters.    To get it all from this author you will have to pick up "Preacherman Blues" to see for yourself how this story will all come out.  Believe me, this novel  will be very interesting page turner that I would  recommend.

Jacob Rodgers knew Carol would not stand for his behavior, but he did it anyway. Now he is struggling to get his wife and kids back.

Michele loved Jacob from the moment she met him as a teenage girl. It doesn’t matter to her how much time has passed since she last saw him, or the big secret she kept from him; she’s determined to get him back and keep him this time.

Sheila vowed to never be tied down to one man, but Troy is destined to change that for her.

So many issues and emotions envelop these characters. What will be left of them after all is said and done?"

What I liked about the novel....

This was a captivating short read that had so much drama from the beginning to the very end that will definitely keep your attention.  This author presents the reader with a couple whose marriage had gone very bad. After Carol's third beating will Carol be able to get on with her life?  Having a best friend (Sheila) was there for Carol in her  time of need was so endearing to the read.  Jacob was wanting forgiveness but could he not see that some things are not to be fixed and then their was Michele (his twins mom) who seemed not to take no for an answer?  I found all of these characters were simply off the chart... well portrayed giving the reader a good concept of just what is going on with all the 'issues and emotions' that come up in this read.    In the end there will be some twist in this story....from wife beating, death, pregnancy loss, healing for Carol's parents,  Sheila's drama and then at the end....  You will just have to pick up this well written novel to see for yourself  and I think you will truly say heartily that this  title is very fitting for this novel ...."After All Is Said and Done" novel that I would definitely recommend to you.

"Trying To Outrun The Love Of God" by Karen Adams...

About The Book .....

"How can God reach someone who appears unreachable? Will the love of God be enough to break every chain and loose the trap of the enemy? In her debut book, Author Karen Adams struggles to understand how a loving God would allow life to be so unbearable. Facing childhood molestation, years of crack addiction, nervous breakdowns, and admissions to mental wards, she learned that no matter how difficult life was, God continued to extend His love. Trying to Outrun the Love of God, is a deeply moving story of one woman’s journey filled with suffering and pain, but one that ultimately finds wholeness and deliverance in the arms of a loving Savior."

What I liked about the novel....

"Trying To Outrun The Love of God" was truly a inspirational read that once I started reading this well written book I wasn't able to put it down until the very end.  For Karen this was a real journey that did lead her through 'pain, struggles, and failures' but in the end she realized that she had Gods love all the time and that was all she needed.  Follow Karen's as she tell the reader about her life as she carries the reader through the description of her memories as she seeks for the love she deeply wanted  all of  her life.  It was beautiful thing as she learns that God has carried her in His arms of love...even giving her Angels to sing to her.

I loved this quote ....from Karen

"I am a living witness that no matter what has happened and whether you caused it or not, God id wanting and waiting for a chance to make something beautiful out of your life."

I really enjoyed reading how Karen brought out forgiveness...learning that to get her life together she had to ask forgiveness of her five children, her Mom and even her ex husband...if it's not your time...but when the Holy Spirit give you the unction to forgive...it will be time. I loved that.  That really hit home  to me.  I love seeing the transformation that you could see taking place in Karen's life as you read through the novel....you will read about .....Karen's  sexual abuse, church folk abuse, breakdowns, post partum, depression, hospital stays,  hurt from church members, drugs,  rejection from her father, unresolved childhood issues...all of this God was right there with her all the time. Will Karen make it out of all of this?    Now, I will stop here and say to get it all you must pick up this author's book..."Trying To Outrun The Love Of God" to see how it will all turn out in the end for Karen.

"Trying To Outrun The Love Of God"  is a good one for all to read.   Seeing Karen discover her 'self worth' was  truly a beautiful thing.  To find out so much more as Karen takes you 'through he pain, experience and devastation' she discovers that she is truly loved by God.   That was a beautiful thing for Karen discovering God's love for her (I loved Chapter Twelve)...."He Loved Me No Matter How Much I Failed Him."

What I especially liked about this novel....

I do believe that Author Karen Adams did a wonderful job in "explaining how available and powerful God's love is in the midst of whatever you may encounter in your life."  Would I recommend? YES this was a wonderful told Non Fiction Christian read.

What I liked about the novel...

I found this read a  quick sweet historical  romance novel with a good storyline  that was able to keep my attention not wanting to put down until the end.  I enjoyed how this author was able to keep it a mystery of who was bothering the heroine.  I was  definitely  a surprise who it turned out to be.
The two main characters were very likable .... Lucien(he was quite a catch) and Winifred  had the romantic  chemistry between them.  However, would he be able to convince her to marry him and even help her with whoever it was that was messing with her?  Why was Winifred so reluctance to Lucien?  Well, to get this and more you will have to pick up this  good read "Once Upon A Christmas Kiss" and find out what all the mystery is all about.

"Once Upon A Christmas Kiss" was a good quick romantic read that I would recommend to you as a good holiday read.

Book Description....

"Uplifting, sexy and warm, Sarah Morgan's O'Neil Brothers series is perfection."—Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author

This winter, ex-skiing champion, reformed heartbreaker and single dad Tyler O'Neil has only one mission—making sure his daughter, Jess, has the best Christmas ever. The fact that his best friend, Brenna, is also temporarily moving into his chalet at the overbooked Snow Crystal resort is a delicious distraction he's simply going to have to ignore. Theirs is the one relationship he's never ruined, and he's not about to start now.

Ski pro Brenna Daniels knows all about the perils of unrequited love—she's been in love with Tyler for years. But living with him is absolute torture…how can she concentrate on being his friend when he's sleeping in the room next door? Then when Tyler kisses Brenna, suddenly the relationship she's always dreamed of feels so close she could almost touch it. Could this be the Christmas her dreams of a happy-ever-after finally come true?"

What I liked about the novel.....

I enjoy this read.  I found for the most part it was a good romantic read and once you start reading you will find it hard to put down.  I liked how this author developed this storyline about Tyler and Brenna where  you will find from the read that both of these people had some personal problems that needed solving.  Tyler was a ex ski champion due to an injury,  with his ex and daughter.  Then there was Brenna who had a troubled childhood of feeling unloved by her mother and how much did this play into her adulthood?   Since Tyler and Brenna had been childhood friends would there be any thing between these two? Brenna had always loved Tyler but he really didn't reciprocate at first but  later it seemed like when one was interested we find he was afraid to commit and then on the other side would she be willing to settle for part of a relationship. As you read you will see a relationship growing out of a strong friendship they had developed.   I will say I did like  the relationship between Tyler and his  daughter Jess who seemed to brought a lot to the story. I did find this a little puzzling to me. Why was that?  This is where I say you will have to pick up "Maybe This Christmas" to see how this author brings it all out to the reader.  I will say that these two coming together was a long process, however  after being pushed together....well,  I will stop here and say get the novel.

I found "Maybe This Christmas" setting in Vermont was the third O'Neil Brothers series that was a  good heart warming story that goes very well with the holiday reads.  Would I recommend?  YES!
