"Identity Thief" by Milo James Fowler was a real scary read for me.  Just knowing
that this 'Identity Thief'  really has a mind of a serial killer....keeping his victims in
the closet...wearing masks to cover up his own incompetence's. It is really creepy
knowing that the face is used but he lives their life as well.

When you think about the "Identity Thief"  is something of a insane person that
gives explanation of why and what he does....being a unhappy adolescence, failed
love, and  car stealing.... using  acid? Wow!

"Identity Thief" was  really a short story of  disgust, dislike,  and terror of this persons'
way of thinking which is alarming. OMG!

Well, I was made to see that credit card stealing  isn't the only thing  about "Identity
Thief"....they way the author points it .... it can be even more awful.

This novel REALLY opened my eyes to just what all can be involved in "Identity Thief."
I would definitely recommend as a good read for all.

"Romantically Fabulous" by Chad Wilde was a romantic story of gays. The author wrote a cute  forty page  humorous romance novel  of a group of men that were not only just  friends.....they  were ....GAYS.

It seems that Sebastian had been dumped by Ethan earlier and this had upset him greatly so when it came time to go on college reunion ..... Sebastian needed a someone to pose as his boy friend. Now who could do this for him?....well Keith Williams his cosmetic friend from work ...  even volunteered for the job and it was on now.........Meeting up with his friends at the  class reunion........Would you believe that Ethan Patterson had been dumped from his friend(Tate)...(this is the guy Ethan had left Sebastian for)  and now Ethan  wanted Sebastian back...and  how all of t.is turns out you  will simply have to pick up "Romantically Fabulous" to find out.  Believe me .... it is  worth the read.

The characters are a great group of guys.....Sebastian Fabulous, Ethan Patterson, Keith Williams, Al Walters, Johnny, Jake Adams, Fabian Standford, Damon, Tate and I am sure I have left someone out...but who?

Will Ethan be able to work his magic and get the love of his life back....now...Sebastian or will Keith  bring on problems for Ethan? ? ...What does Keith have doing on with him and Sebastian?   Now again you will have to read this short story to find out all the details and I don't want to tell it all.

The author does work his magic and bring in some twist and turns but in the end.   Will the guy get the love of his life??...well, like I said it is worth the read.

This is the first time I have ever read this type of book and it wasn't bad at all.  I found it really interesting and well written read and I think if you are interested in this type of novel...about GAYS .... you will find it a good read too.

Review:

"Mask of Shadows" by Erick Burgess was a very intense  suspenseful mystery read.  The setting was from a small Louisiana town .... where there is plenty of jazz, good times  and other elements going on.... like murder.

Feeling good...as a part time private investigator and jazz club owner...Michael Drake in living a good life until all hell seems to break lose and he in involved with  his  best friends(Alex Williams) wifes' (Allison) murder.   It's like being at the wrong place at the wrong time, however, he was truly a friend .... trying to help out a friend had placed  Mike right in the middle of all this mess.... murder.

Michael also had other responsibilities that involved taking  care of his nephew(Jordan) and then there was his father who was a retired cop that was on his case... of Michaels' getting his  priorities (life) in order. I believe this can be identified in our daily life where there seems like one person is loaded down with too much.  The way Michael had been raised ....he was determined to give his nephew a better life....but at what price was he doing it? Was Mike really raised that bad?  His father really only wanted what was best for Micheal... Could Michael not see that?    It was a good thing that Mikes parents were there to help out in this situation with Jordan...because help was definitely needed...and one important fact was that Family came first.

Now getting back to the murder of Michaels' best friends wife....well I can only say I don't want to give that away...so I will say you will only have to pick up thisgreat read to find out how it all plays out.... and you may be surprised as I was who the murderer was....This best friend of Michaels'(Alex)...I don't know about that friendship.... but I do know people can forgive...After all...what had Mike done that needed forgiving?   Again not wanting to give any of this away...I will just say you will have to pick up this excellent read " Mask of Shadows" to find out what, who and how it plays out.  It is really some ending!

The characters... I can not say enough about.... I enjoyed the way the author was able to bring in the twist and turns...and there were many...characters.... I won't name them all.. well maybe....but there was   Michael, Alex, Allison, Joey, Big Al, Mona, Clara Simms, Becky, Michelle, John Packer, Ester, Trey, Sharon Bryant, Mom, Dad,Grandpa, Ophelia, Lorraine, Mason, Melinda Morris, Hustler, Norman, Coleman, Rev. Walls, Cynthia,Eric Baxter, Uncle Hestler... James(uncle), Leroy, Tulow, Pamela Rheams, Daniel Trent, and LaTrina Jeckins....and I am sure I missed someone you must get this read and find out who? Believe me, these characters really made this read very intriguing to read.

I enjoyed this long read "Mask of Shadows" and I am sure if you are in for a good mystery.... you will find this one a excellent  and well written read.

The story is centered about what happens to Melinda and  Lexie as this travel takes off for a stormy
ride.....

Fateful Water in a few words.....
For Melinda... it is heartbreaking for her to really find out about her 'Romeo'....for Lexi....wow....driving in a rain storm.... FATEFUL WATERS....... the cattle in the
road....her accident that  left  Lexi  wondering ... just who is Mrs. Ross?....the hospital stay...working for Cutter.....back at hometown in Ohio..  Skip....with mom and grandma... a real marriage....Now Mr. and Mrs. Cutter Ross ....... now back in the 'drought-sticken state of Texas' at the Rock R........the puppies....the beat down of  Marie, the housekeeper.. house invaded...by David Decker.....hospital again....now the little on(son)....another marriage coming up?  You will simply have to pick  up the wonderful romance "Fateful Waters" to find out just how it all comes together.
The End....

The novel was really fun to read because it kept you turning the pages till the end you were at the end.   The author went in  great detail in letting the reader know just what was happening
every single step of the novel at (the ranches, Lexi's mom place, the park, and even  hospital visits.

The characters and there were many that really  held your attention:  Melinda, Lexi, (Mrs. Ross) Cutter, David, Jim, Marie, Patrick, mom(Eve), grandma, Nurse Thacker, Dr. Callahan, Pete, Benson, Booker  and I know I have left out a few others but you will get all of them in this read.

Review:
"The Land of Burned Out Fires" by Vella Munn was very interesting fantasy  short read.  Kayla Stephens who was sixteen  while on a job with modeling group  is found with a Native American 'Morning  Star.'  This person now begs Kayla to please help her get her baby from the ranchers(settlers) who had stolen the child. What did this stone necklace(scared stone from her brother) that she had .... haveto do with all of this? What can Kayla do about this situation?  Kayla was from another time or so it seems.Morning Star introduces Kayla to her grandfather(ChoCho), grandmother
(Walks At Night) and brother...True Hand and everything is explained to her about the Modocs people.  Kayla wanted  her life back like  she had previously had it...but tried to understand the Modocs needing her help.....Kayla felt she was in a  crazy time warp and only  who could help her now?

There is a lot of jumping  back and forth to the  present  and the past  in the novel , but  it is easy to keep up with the storyline. Now back  with her modeling  group ...Kayla visited with the Carol(a visitor) as she talks about pictographs of the Modocs on the drawings on the stone walls...the Fern Cave's microsystem ...lava  beds...most of the information had been written by whites...found out that these  Modocs had been forced to return to the reservation. What a history. Kayla knew  she had to talk with the leader (Kientopoos) of the Modocs...was this to be? ....she was a woman!...and will Kayla did get to talk with the leader?  This was  very neatly done. ...telling the Modocs about the future ...that they would lose this war...  would they listen to Kayla?  Now at this point you will have to pick up this read and see just how this is handled  and the rest of this novel  how this plays out.....
Was Kayla living a history?

The author did a great job with the characters in the story...there were many.....Kayla, Joel, Mrs. Blush, Brad, Rory, Chuck (her brother), Megan, Sean, Short Stuff, Carol, Morning Star, True Hand, Cho Cho, Walks At Night, Robert Palmer, William, Frank, Mary, Kientopoos(Modoc Leader), Curly Headed Doctor(Shaman), Winema, Elizabeth & Will Harper, Night Sounds and I know I have left some  others out.  You will just have to pick up this good read. These were a group of very  fascinating  people.

Indeed "The Land  of  Burned Out Fires"  was a very good thriller read and if you are in for some fantasy and suspense this good read is for you.

"Dark Genesis" by A.D. Koboah was indeed a interesting read for me.  I am a African American  and
I am very careful of my reads with any 'slaves' however, the book cover caught my attention and I thought I would see just  what "Dark Genesis" was about.

This novel dealt with the story of Luna who was a beautiful slave with supernatural powers...having the gift of the second site, that had been through so much....taken from her mom, then be served up to two masters (Henry & John) then taken away by Avery (demon).  This was very appealing to see this love affair blossom with Luna and  this demon who had suffered for so long.... but he could read her thoughts...then he leaves and Luna goes and looks for him...and found him  by the lake..was she falling in lovewith Avery... a 'walking aberration.'  Teaching her to read, rid Julia (horse) and shoot a gun.  Oh my what a  story!....Avery left her with a gold chain, farmhouse and even ...Dembi,,,,now  you will have to pick up this novel ..."Dark Genesis" and get all of this well written story.

The characters were a real lively group ....Luna, Jupiter(Dembi), Father Geoffrey, Mama Akosua, Ebenezer, Mr. Walker, Matthew, Zila, and Avery, Lina... and a few others I have left out.  The author really knew how to keep the reader interested in the read because each chapter got even more engaging in its twist and many turns.

After reading "Dark Genesis"   I thought it was a novel that I could recommend as a good read.

"Have a Nice Weekend" by Ian Ellis was indeed an interesting
realistic fiction read  definitely from the male viewpoint.  This
novel is a very emotional excursion and the wows of this marriage
of Will and Abi. Just who was right and or wrong in this union
will have one really why do we left things get to this situation?
In this novel be ready for some humor, and much sadness.

The characters were really off the chart...Mr. Petal..the racist
and then his best friend Andy...who ended up with ? Will who
was generally a lonely person.quirky....had a boring job that
he hated...And then there is Abi... Will's wife....always wanting
more out of life..than Will wanted. He just wants a simple life....
There is a dinner party that was so funny that you will
only have to read "Have a Nice Weekend" to check it out!
After reading and thinking about this novel it is one that can be
related to in more ways that one. I saw that it wasn't very easy
not to take  sides of these two people. You could see that the
D word was definitely in the making. You will ask yourself just
how could this have happen...even after being warned. I especially
enjoyed the ending in that Will finally makes some progress in
dealing with a divorce, his children, Andy and looking forward
to changing his life for the better.

The author did a fantastic  and wonderful job with this novel
going from the past to the present keeping the reader wanting
to know what was to come next.

For anyone who has loved and lost this good read "Have A Nice

"Game of Hearts" by Kathryn J. Picking up a cake for Debi's daughters'(Sara) birthday and  falling into Brandon Nash....and running into him while on a run,  then seeing him at church...Debi and Brandon soon became friends and  from that.....now at this point you will have to pick up this good read and find out what is in store for Deborah Zimmerman's  story.     In the end ... with God on Debi's side... How  can she  lose in getting what she needed?

Sara grown up in New Mexico and other places but she never was adopted and now she was having abnormal childhood dreams and a invisible mysterious rash. Now living in Arizona, Sara now 33 years old had tried to receive some help from a therapist, Dr. Pingleton but with her not being honest and open with the doctor it was to no avail. It was after Sara decided to speak with Samara, (palm reader) that she decided to be truthful with Dr. Pingleton and tell him about her dreams that haunted her. As it turn out Sara had to travel from Arizona to Maine for her much needed answers. So, with her friends Matty and Erick they traveled by car to Maine and it was there that Sara must confront her past and hopefully see a much brighter future for herself. The characters in this novel were simply the best: Erick, Matty, Hahn, Ron, Samara, Steve, Ida, and Brent. Each one really made this novel very interesting. This Christmas spent in Maine... would Sara get the answers she was seeking and how would this affect her life in the future? You must read this novel to find out!
I found "Patchwork of Me" as a very good and solid read. It was definitely a page tuner for me. I would recommend this book as a good read.

"Models and Lovers" by Johnny Ray was a very loveable romance. The author did a wonderful job in bringing this intriguing romance of these two people.... Thomas(Tommy)Conseco and the lovely Balarie Danson together.

Tommy was a big time owner of a top modeling agency from New York.. however, his one rule was that sex with any of his models or employees were not to be for him Never! Balarie is now working for Tommy as a booking agent for especially the male models and is very good at her job.

YELLOW CROCUS

"Yellow Crocus" by Laila Ibrahim was indeed a different read for me. As a African America I am very careful with any read about slavery however, I will say this was indeed a good, wonderful, touching and very emotional read. Once I started reading this historical novel I could not put it down.

In the year of 1837, Lisbeth Wainwright was the daughter of a Virginia plantation owner that was reared by a black slave named Mattie. One of her favorite songs... 'Go to sleepy little baby, Go to sleepy little baby.' Truly, this Mattie was more of a mother to Lisbeth than her own mother (Mrs. Ann Wainwright).

This was truly a travel though the life of Elizabeth (Lisbeth) and
Mattie's journey through this time in history. This is a true story
that did bring tears, other times a smile and then at times well.... A few weeks before Elizabeth's wedding she caught her fiance Edward with a black slave girl. Now how was she to get out of this wedding? What an explanation from her mothers on this subject...Wow! However, there is hope for Lisbeth..there is Matthew Johnson.

The character's in "Yellow Crocus" were really interesting....helped bringing out this story of love, redemption, lost, and even hope. Can you believe who Lisbeth midwife was? You will just have to put up this read to find out the answers and more.

"Yellow Crocus" is definitely a novel that will cause to to think. and remember long after the read. I would like to thank the author was a honest awarding good read.

SCANDAL--THE DEATH OF A LEGACY

"Scandal..The Death Of A Legacy" by Johnny Ray was a very intriguing romantic thriller mystery. This novel was one that will keep you reading it until you were finished because it will have you wanting to know what twist and turn is coming next. I really liked the way the authors' presentation from the first page. Be warn we are dealing with the subject... RAPE... and I felt it was dealt with very well.

The story dealt with Kristina who had become pregnant and did not remember any of it... only she had been on a company cruise party and believed someone had slipped something into her drink ..had she been date raped? With Kristina wanting to find out who had done this to her ... she hooked up with the company's security man Shawn hoping he could help her find the answers that she needed: Who Had Done This To Her? For some reason Shawn seemed to be the only one she could trust...or could she? With Shawn having hidden secrets of his own could he possibly relate to what was going on with Kristina? The big question came to who was responsible for what had happened to Kristina and would she keep the baby or abort? How and why was this so important to Shawn? How was this bodyguard going to be able protect Kristina? Was there some romantic twist going on between these two? The answers to all these question you will get from your read of "Scandal"  plus much more.

In the end... will all the secrets come out and will the girl gets the guy and they live happy ever after? "Scandal"  was a good read and I would recommend to anyone who would not be uncomfortable of a story dealing with rape.

PEGASUS

"Pegasus" by Marilyn Holdsworth was really a eye opener for me that this type of treatment of cruelty of animals actually happens. Wow! It is even more appealing to know there are 'those who love animals and stand up for their rights.' YES!

"Pegasus" was really a ride from the beginning of the story till the very end focusing on humanity toward these wild mustangs and racehorses that the owner, Victor Rossi who sold badly damaged horses to overseas meat markets. How this turns out is really worth the read of "Pegasus." The authors characters were really very interesting in how Hannah Bradley(who was a journalist-heroine) and Winston Caughfield(a lawyer-hero) coming together ...both widowers...finding love....and not just of horses...... the rescue of 'Pegasus' .... the horse rescue to healing was a miracle all in itself....definitely a one of a kind horse. Had Pegasus been a racing horse? You must get this wonderful read to find out this and more.

With Hannah and Winston coming together to save these horses from slaughter was a real interesting read to see how this was done. The other characters... Mary Little Deer, Hank,Victor, Candy, Al, Dee Dee, Dr.Ward Stevens, Mike Adams,Martha Preacher, Clyde Morris, Black Hawk, Aaron Carson, B. Jay and Franz only to name a few really made this novel a good read.

"Pegasus" was filled with fast and action packed mystery, adventure and romance that would definitely hold your attention for a unforgettable read. There were times I was laughing and even crying at some point. The story was a very believable and detailed. I found it very easy to keep up with all that was going on and it really moved fast for being a very lengthy novel. This was loaded with plenty of action and definitely a page turner!

The main hero Enzo Lee was a heck of a reporter and hooking up with the heroine.... Sarah Armstrong who was a lawyer....and with the rest of the marvelous characters this was some story
that was very well written. This storyline was mainly (Enzo and Sarah)two people who hunted and got hunted,... murders, lots of secrets in the government coverup and still being able to get the truth out before the time ran out for them. Truly, bringing down the CEO (Graylock) of the AgriGenics Co. was really some work.

"Project Moses" dealt with a science dealing the some gene being divided helping the food number and then this entering into the some technology that would get rid of certain crops and animals.

"Project Moses" will leave you thinking that this author must had some backgound in law and reporting because he created a well thought out novel and I would defintely recommend to all mystery and thriller readers. I thought it was a excellect read.

"No-Name Baby" by Nancy Bo Flood was a very good read. The novel is of a teenager (Sophie) who was a Italian immigrant from Illinois after World War I. Sophie thought she had caused her mother to go into premature labour, since her mom had lost other babies...that was greatly on her mind. Then there was a aunt(Rae)... that seemed to cause great tension between her(Sophia). Just what was going on would soon be understood. Her aunt Rae tells Sophia of her bea (Alessandro). He had left for the War and he never came back .... he was shot down.... buried in Italy.

The author really brings out the characters with all of the work..doing chores, watching the baby, dealing with that Aunt Rae,seeing if her mom, Nonna, and her dad needed anything and
then there was the boy (Karl) next door. And then the big incident in the Orchard... What had happened between Sophia and her aunt Rae? This is where you will have to pick up this good read to find out just what is going on.

There was the Family Bible that held everything that Sophia needed to know about her family... but where was her name? Was she a bastard child? Just who was her mother? After much explanation being given ...everything comes out and this secret unfolds.

"No-Name Baby" was indeed a wonderful story how Sophia was able to finally understand the situation of just what had gone on in her life. Sophia was very mature young lady and all I can say is .... Wow! .. what a story! Sophia now knew the secret about her family.

I would definitely recommend this as a good for a YA read.

Vivian was now having a meaning to her life. Coming from a marriage where there was no love, having a heartless mother .... now she has control of her life...coming from heartbreak, failure, to redemption, and then triumph of finding a her true love. Now who was that? You will have to pick up this great read and find out how the author is able to put this together. It is a very interesting read. This novel is one that is hard to put down until you are finished.

The details that were delivered in this novel was simply off the chart.... making you feel that you are there in the auditorium at the Tupperware Jubilee .... the Wish Fairy....Valedictorian..... the visit to Brownie's home....deepest desire... the NY visit, buying a home and I am not telling any more! You will have to read this for yourself because it is such a good read.

Definitely the overall message was that by changing ones situation in life .... can become better for you... if you desire it..... but should you forget how you got there? I would definitely recommend "Leftovers" as a excellent read.

Review:

"Intended For Harm" by C.S. Larkin a very interesting long read that you will recognize as it is similar to the story in the Bible of Jacob /Joseph and his brothers. The title is coming from Genesis 50:20 "What you intended for harm, God intended for good ....for the saving of life"........ Ms. Larkins' did a wonderful job in her storytelling. Be ready for a story of a very emotionally intense adventure that will leave you saying WoW! That was very gifted and creative storytelling.... that is of fathers and sons loyalty and disloyalty.

The author tells this captivating story skillfully with Jake Abrams and his family over a range of forty years starting in the year of 1971 in Colorado and them we move on to LA. I loved the way the author of "Intended For Harm" is written with each chapter a year that has a theme from the hit tune of that year and these songs are really off the chart GOOD!

Truly, over these 40 years there is a lots of roaming ...'through the wilderness' and finally in the end.... coming back home where their is forgiveness, mercy, love, repentance, redemption ... results being a family that has been reunited.

The characters are very colorful and intriguing....Jake, Issac Abrams, Ethan, Leah, Rachel, Reuben, Simon Levi, Dinah, Aunt Abby, Joey, Ben, Mosey, and Rachel ...and I am sure someone I have left out. The best and the worst are really brought out in many of these characters bringing out how we can and should love each other and not judge.

"Intended For Harm" deals with a family breakdown...... illness with drugs and alcohol, and depression, hate, jealousy rape, murder and then there is a healing that will come for this family. You will just have to pick up the good read to find out just how this story is able begin this healing process.

"Intended For Harm" was truly of a family in the need of help from God through the healing power of forgiveness and in the end doing what is right. This novel was very beautifully written and I would definitely recommend this as a excellent read

"The Last Rising" by Rachel Firasek was a wild ride but a good one. I really liked the way the author was able to grab you and pull one into a unique story of the life of Phoenix Ice. I found the book was really a page turner... you will find it hard to put down until you are finished.

The beginning of this story Ice is with a man on a airplane that she knows what will happen to him (Turner).... the plane will crash but he will survive. How is that? The story really takes off .... with the different characters bringing out this heartwarming love that will even grow as you read. The characters from Ice, Turner, Brodie, Grey, and Sadie, Giselle, Arabella, and Osiris had there own story on this ride. This paranormal romance does gets quiet steamy which does make it even more of a good read.

"The Last Rising" does go at a fast pace making it a quick and interesting to read. The plot and the characters .... especially Ice and Turner really will draw you into this unique novel. If you are into paranormal romance then I would definitely recommend this read for you.

Review:

"Hanging By A Thread" by Sophie Littlefield was a interesting, long and detailed spooky mystery read. As a young adult if you are into creepy murders and vintage fashion then you are in for a good read. The story ran a little slow for me at the beginning ...I kept wanting it to pick up a little more and it did!

OK, just let me start....I gathered from my reading that there was some relationship between Clare and her mom(Susie)....Clare's mom and her mother(Nana).... Clare's friend
Rachel and her mom (Mrs. Slade) .... then their was Amanda's mom (Mrs. Stavros) and her daughter...Mrs. Granger... son (Dillon) death all coming together with Clare and her mother that really making this story...... "Hanging By A Thread" a worthwhile read.

Clare(Cee cee) was sixteen ..... a junior in HS who had moved back to Winston, California from San Francisco with her mom. Clara had a gift that had been passed down to her from her great grandmother and that was having 'the ability to glimpses of people's negative actions when Clare touched their clothes.' Along with this gift Clare also had the ability to take vintage clothing and turn them into very exclusive
customed styles which made selling good for her business.

I found that this story zip here and there quiet a bit making the story somewhat at times a little hard to follow...and some details were left unresolved... but maybe that was to make us think? A thought.....

Winston, California was coming upon a second anniversary (Fourth of July) when two of the town kids had been killed ....
(Dillon's death and Amanda's disappearance). What would happen this year? Clare happens upon a piece of clothing that proved to belong to the girl that had been killed .... now how was Clare to find out ... who and why this girl had been killed? 'Trying to solve a mystery that kept getting more and more complicated' was really working... Well, I will leave this up to you to read "Hanging by a Thread." I think I am catching up! ......And then there was a long talk with Clare's Nana. Oh ! 'Sometimes knowing and telling is the wrost thing you can do!' You must read this good read to find out just what I am talking about.

The characters were really interesting in this storyline.... Claire, her mom(Susie) and grandmother(Nana), Rachel, (Amanda(Mandy), Dillon), Lincoln, Jack, Victoria, Jenna, Kane, Luke, Mrs. Granger, Mrs. Stavro and a few others I have left out.

I found "Hanging By A Thread" story line may have been a little slow at times.... but the story will pick up.....and if you are willing to stick with this storyline you will find out just what happened to the two kids that had been such a mystery for this town. Just who was the killer? I believe you will find this novel an acceptable read for a teen and or young adult.

Review:

"Code of Silence" by Tim Shoemaker was a good mystery thriller read. This novel may have been for the middle grades( 9-12), however I (adult) was very kept on the edge of my seat through this read. There was a lots of suspense and action going on all through this read.

Hiro, Gordy and Cooper were childhood friends that was truly in the wrong place at the wrong time...witnessing a cruel robbery... who were wearing police uniforms....... at their favorite hang out..and now there friend Frank Mustacci (part- owner) was left in a coma. Thinking that the robbers were cops... they feared for their lives so ..... the three friends decided to keep this a secret..."CODE OF SILENCE".. One thing for certain these three friends did not know how much living a lie would bring havoc into their lives. Having the security camera hard drive...still Cooper was afraid to turn it over to the police because wasn't a dirty cop involved in this robbery?

Earlier, Cooper who had been caught by one of the robbers and now his his family and friends had been threaten. What was Cooper to do? One thing for sure is that this will test their friendship in that they will have to choose between what is right or wrong about telling lies.

These three characters.... Hiro, (girl) Gordy, and Cooper (boys) were very good-natured ordinary kids that were place in a horrible situation .....made this story so appealing to the reader.... especially their friendship that they shared. However, later on the story did a fourth person became their friend too? Now just who was that person?

How the author was able to get this story presented was very well thought out. Now both ... the police and bad guys are after them....Is 'It's a way for them to tell the truth without getting caught'.... now you are just going to have to read this "Code of Silence" and see how this story plays out.

In the end I believe that these friends... Hiro, Gordy, Cooper and Lunk learned just who they can trust: God, friends and parents.. with the truth .... honesty is the best and only way to go...and I believe that is the real lesson of this story. "Code of Silence" was indeed a good read and I would definitely recommend this novel for a good read for the middle grades and even the adult too.

Review:

"A Shot in the Arm" by Barry Willdorf was really a good read. It kept me on the edge of my seat through most of the read. Indeed you can tell that Mr. Willdorf that he had some lawyer background due to all details that he gave us on this great ride. "Shot in the Arm" was a story of how a lawyer (Nathan Lewis) from San Francisco trying to do what was right had many obstacles put in his way.
Nate (who was a lawyer) had taken a case involving Umoja Simama, a Black Militant charged with homicide in Marin County. Nate's girlfriend Christina did not want him to take cases such as these because they were involved the drug dealer, dirty money, and the Mob. Christina just wanted to finish her education, get a good job and get married. Would she ever get this? Nate wanted to get his name out there so he could have it all...good job and Christina...who was the love of his life. I really liked the way Mr Wildorf presented the characters because they really made the novel ... to name a few: Nate, Christina, Diz, Umoja(Amos Decker), Joan Deering, Moe Weiner, Willie Jackson, Sheila Mc Givern(Susan Bass)Inspector Hudson, Oso Pardo, Mato, Tiny Tim, Alex Estrada, Waseme, Connie Hawkins, Hamid, Samira, Aaron Carter, Jim Davis, Granma Carter, and Steve Bass. I am sure I left out some....You will just have to read and find out who for yourself! The question is how will Nate and Christiana be able to solve there problems.... maybe by "Negotiation?" And with the negotiation would Nate and Christina finally have the life they wanted?

"A Shot in the Arm" was really interesting and surprising in how this novel played out. I loved it! It was well written and I would definitely recommend "Shot in the Arm" as a good read.

FIRE BAPTIZED

"Fire Baptized" by Kenya Wright was a good mystery, romance, paranormal and fantasy thriller...even a little comedy .... all in one good read. This novel is definitely one that is hard to put down once you start reading. The setting is in Miami surrounded by a military base that take you straight into loads of action that is kept going constantly until the end.

Being a Mixedblood (half Fairy) creature Lanore Vesta(LaLa) could absorb and throw fire and was looked down on by those of the Pureblood. Lanore is confronted with a killer on a rainy night on the way home and her life takes many twist and turns as she tries to solve the killings that is going on in the Supernatural District. A note is left on Lanore door. Who had killed Carmen and Candy? Would Lanore head up an investigation? Lanore was definitely the Heroine who was one tough character. You will only have to pick up this novel and see for yourself.

Between Lanore's childhood friend and roomate MeShack (ex-Lover) and ZuZu who was a sexy radical friend... for they both were kinds of heros in this story. They were indeed strong, charming, very sexy, had special gifts and both really cared for Lanore.. for they would even die for her. Now just who would Lanore choose? Was this a love triangle?

With the war that was going on between these races this story from the start to the finish was full of some real unforgettable characters....Lanore, MeShack, ZuZu, Ray, Carmen, Larry, Roxy, Candy, Detective Rivera, Star, Pike, Iron Dove, Goldie, Gabe, Benji, Miss Vesta, Dante, Nona, Quinn, Wendy, and Angel ..... the list goes on presenting Fairies, Pixies, Shifters, Supes, Vamps, Mixies and Werewolfs and more. All were really a very interesting bunch of characters! Be ready for an interesting good read.

The author uses a lots of imagination in presenting this story. The details were off the chart in many ways. There was much research done by the author to bring this story to us. For the plot was well developed and this was one that I was unable to figure out until the end just who was this murderer was. Good job! It was very interesting seeing Lanore figure things out and ultimately save the day.

"Fire Baptized" was defintely an adult novel due to some of its themes and graphic scenes sex, volence and language ... but...still a good read. I also thought the Book Cover was interesting to look at! (those flames)... If you are into the supernatural this read would be for you. I would give this a
4 out of 5  Rating.

Review:

"Blood Forge" by Kathryn Meyer Griffin was another great read for me. The snake demon was really something in this read. I was really glad when it was ....oh I can't tell you. You will simply have to read this read for yourself (smile). I will say that this demon escape was in the form of a alluring 357 Magnum Colt Python pistol that was to bring havoc and death into many people.

Starting with the pistol... referred to as 'snake God' .... monstrous snake... ghosts...then Todd Cummings ending in the bottomless pit... on to .David Willows in Korea...wanted
to be a painter...hated his father and war.. had given him a replica of a Magnum Colt Python. This gun had come from a gunsmith (Jed) that wanted to get rid of it eagerly. Now David was in Korea(Chinese) in a war that he hated... with this pistol that "evoked strong sensations in people." Was he bitten by this pistol?...Was he hearing things?....Was he a "sniveling Coward?" During this investigation...it had been determined that Willows due to stress..going out of his mind had killed his patrol. ... nothing about this pistol. This alluring Magnum Colt Python was packed and shipped to his parents where it lay in dust for years... until later sold to a junk dealer.. only to be to be bounced out of the truck (in a trunk) and spilled over the road. Unnoticed....As the novel progresses this pistol get into many other hands bringing much destruction to several people. All who came in contact with this pistol was in for a horrible ride.

The characters.... Roger, Sandy, Tom, Martha, Sam and Emily....but it was Emily who was able to see that this sinister gun was the root of their problem. The author did a good job in presenting this plot and even the ending was truly well delivered. "Blood Forge" will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen next.

Thank God for David Kramer knowing of Father Gabriel who was definitely the hero to saved the day from this posed gun. Sorry that Michael wasn't saved. I know I am telling too much! Indeed I did enjoy the storytelling of "Blood Forge." Truly, it was another great read by Kathryn Griffin.

"For The Helpless" by Lori Boggs was indeed a good mystery criminal read. I found this novel very hard to put down until I was through with it. This was a very easy read.

The story was set in Oregon area where Detective Kelly Lowe and Chris Patrick are on the trail of a serial killer... . who is preying on children. For Kelly I can say that she is really a tough (no none sense) detective that did see the job through and her partner (Chris) was a dedicated good detective and family man.

The plot, the police procedurals and the geographical areas were so very detailed that you will soon realize that Ms. Boggs did a good job at her storytelling. "For The Helpless" was a very fast read. The characters were very real and believable making you fill part of the read. There are many twist and turns making it a good page turner and with all of its suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat. When I had finished the novel I was left waiting for more!

I did enjoy "For The Helpless" finding it quite an interesting and well written read and I would definitely recommend this novel as a good read.

To Urn Her Love

"To Urn Her Love" by Elaina Lee was a short and funny romance novel. It was about a stolen urn that was returned to its owner. How Elaina Lee went about the story was really interesting. The brother, Kyle, steals the urn thinking it was a flower vase for his sister, Caylie and now she has to return this to its' rightful owner. However, the catch to this story is that this urn belongs to a a former boyfriend (Rick Marshall)that had broken her heart seven years ago. Would Caylie be able to do this? You will just have to read it and laugh along with me!
I did laugh a lot while reading "To Urn Her Love" and I think you will be laughing along with me in this funny good read!

Review:

"Barcode: The Legend of Appollo" by Kashif Ross was a really thrilling read especially if you like Gods, demigods and mortals. These 'Barcodes' have been established to stop the war and to regulate the population...thus giving these gladiators a much stronger power. This story is set in the future from California. You must be ready for this read (I wasn't) because it is very violent and gory(bloody) novel.... A lots of fighting (Demigods fighting gods). I guess I should have picked that up from the book cover.

Now, after saying all that I did find the novel grabbing in how the the author was able to keep my attention of just what was going on at that time. I found myself wanting to keep reading. There are many twist and turns but if you are able to stick with it you will find it a pretty good read. "Barcode" will keep you on the edge of your seat due to the fact that there was so much going on.

Now for the characters....I find them really different in that each had their own story that seemed to be twisted and frustrating. To name some of the characters.... and there are many.....Michelle, Spence, Moreno, Vincent, Angie, Kode, Selena, Payne, Arnold, Hannah, Dennis, Monte, Hayley, Blake, Patrick, Professor Gonzales, Arnold, Kwan, Talib, Arnold, Pastor Gordon, Eli, Casey, Eve, Helios and the list still goes on. The author did well with all these characters.... how he was able to use some many of them was really something! I don't want to give anything away so you will have to read "Barcode" for yourself. However, a few characters I will say really made the novel very interesting... there is Spencer who is not a nice person at times ... I am still not sure just how I felt about him. Then there is Kode(dreadlocks) who wears the Tartarus mask... for he could hold your attention because you never knew what he was going to do next....and later he kills.... Michelle was a demigoddess ... a no none sense person...well enough said ... and then their was Hannah... who was a full goddess...All I will say is that she can work your nerves. ...... Was there love between Spencer, Michelle and Hannah? I will just say it gets very interesting at this point. Weren't Michelle and Hannah friends?

"Barcode" is full of imagination with lots of details and explanations ...with the gladiator fights that made it seem that you were actually there. I don't think you will find one plot because there seens to be several of them.

I believe the author did a splendid job with "Barcode"..and what about that ending? You will have to simply pick up this thrilling read to find out just how this novel ends. WoW! I would definitely recommend this book if you are in for a fantastic read.
