Review:

"Jewel of the East" by Victoria Vane was this author's series  'The Devil DeVere #5' and
it was one interesting read. To really understand all that has gone one in this whole series I would
recommend you pick up: THE DEVIL DEVERE SERIES:

A Wild Night's Bride #1
The Virgin Huntress#2
The Devil You Know #3
The Devil's Match #4
A Devil's Touch #4.5
Jewel Of the East #5

and let's not leave out the PREQUEL VIGNETTES:

Devil in the Making #1
The Trouble With Sin #2
Ned's Folly#3

Now, getting to "Jewel of the East" was a very easy quick read of Sin and Salime.  Now, how
did they get together?    Simon had once been a womanizer who had shamed his noble family
a number of times so his father had him sent to the military service.  However, things didn't go
well for him.  What happened that sent Simon back home a broken man?  Who will come to his
aid and help him?

Salime had  exotic life until she is kidnapped and then raised in a harem in Constantinople. Then she is recused by DeVere and brought to London and Salime starts a new life.  Everything seems to be going well of Salime  until she has problems with a 'rival' and so who does she turns to?

We find we have two people that needed help due to "abuses and disappointments they faced."
With both of these two people being a friend of DeVere,  he decides to help both  in the only way he knew to do.  Now, what  and how could he do this?  This is where I say you must pick up "Jewel of the East" to see how this author will bring it all out to the reader.

Be ready for a well written tale that will show what true friendship was for these main  characters  Simon, Salime and DeVere.  I found all of the characters well developed,  well portrayed, colorful and very interesting only to give you a excellent read that once you start reading it will be hard to put down until you are finished.  I love how this author was able to bring in the poetry and oh those
hot steamy love scenes in this romantic story!  I did find this read more serious than the other previous series.

If you would like a wonderful historical romance I would definitely tell you to pick up "Jewel of the East" for a amazing good read.
