The Painter is a Lady, by Adriana Kraft

            Book Description...

"Secrets. Trust. Courage. Who will knuckle under first—the war hero? The spirited single mom? Or the high school bully who still hates them both?

                              BLURB.....

When war hero Michael Jarvis returns to his home town on the shores of Lake Superior, he doesn’t plan to stay—he’s undercover, investigating a possible sex trafficking ring operating on the Great Lakes. But he does want to sample the pesky girl next door he always turned down—and it wouldn’t hurt if she’d clear up a few mysteries of her own along the way.
Successfully established as an interior house painter, Brenda Tower finally has her act together as a single mom—but it hangs by a thread, a secret she’ll guard with her life. The return of her youthful crush Michael Jarvis threatens to unravel everything.
Jealousy has inflamed Brett Hill’s hatred of Michael and Brenda for as long as he can remember. Revenge will be so sweet—and it will fit in perfectly with his high stakes game.
When the secrets break open, can Michael and Brenda find the courage to trust each other, or will revenge and betrayal triumph?"

My View of the novel......

What will happen when Michael Jarvis and Brenda Tower become real friendly after his return from the military?  Now we find Michael is back in town working unbeknown to all as a  'undercover agent investigating a possible sex trafficking ring operation.'  What will he find there on the shores of Lake Superior that will involve Brenda who had been a childhood 'pesky girl that had lived next door' along with her twin sister Alice who had presented quite a few problems for him while in school. Now, that Michael had returned and wanted to get to know Brenda better, how will this all play out especially since Brenda now had a son whom many people thought was Michael's.  There will be so many twist and turns with lots of drama and suspense  that will keep you turning the the pages to see what was coming next.  I liked how this author brings in a dark person [Brett] that will prove that word definitely fitted him with all he brings to the table. This story will have some emotional feelings that will come into play and will have you wondering what and why...couldn't certain things be handled a different way?  Oh well this is just a fictional story full of explicit sex in a romantic suspenseful setting.  I don't want to tell too much other than say this author does a good job with giving the readers a good story.  I do wish there had been a epilogue that would have answered some unanswered questions that I felt were left out from the read.  But in the end I did find "The Painter is a Lady" was a good read that will definitely keep your attention.
