Close Enough to Touch By: Colleen Oakley

Book Description....

"From the author of Before I Go comes an unconventional love story perfect for fans of the emotional novels of Jodi Picoult and Jojo Moyes.

One time a boy kissed me and I almost died...

And so begins the story of Jubilee Jenkins, a young woman with a rare and debilitating medical condition: she’s allergic to other humans. After a humiliating near-death experience in high school, Jubilee has become a recluse, living the past nine years in the confines of the small town New Jersey house her unaffectionate mother left to her when she ran off with a Long Island businessman. But now, her mother is dead, and without her financial support, Jubilee is forced to leave home and face the world—and the people in it—that she’s been hiding from.

One of those people is Eric Keegan, a man who just moved into town for work. With a daughter from his failed marriage who is no longer speaking to him, and a brilliant, if psychologically troubled, adopted son, Eric’s struggling to figure out how his life got so off-course, and how to be the dad—and man—he wants so desperately to be. Then, one day, he meets a mysterious woman named Jubilee, with a unique condition...

Close Enough to Touch is an evocative, poignant, and heartrending exploration of the power and possibilities of the human heart."

"Close Enough to Touch" by Colleen Oakley

My Thoughts....

What a unique story this was of a Jubilee Jenkins being allergic to actual human contact and not leaving her home for nine years [living like a hermit].  However, after the death of her mother Jubilee will be forced to the outside world to get a job.  It was quite interesting as she will meet old and new people and also develop a romance, however Jubilee will not be able to touch. What will happen when she meets this 'precocious little boy Aja [saving him and almost dying herself] and his father Eric?  It was quite interesting how this author brings Eric into the picture being a divorced father who was dealing with a lot of his own issues. My, how I liked how Jubilee who had cut herself off from the world could be there to help Eric especially in that part of being able to help him connect with his children. I found this author really works her magic with some of those sensual scenes of how these two were able to show their love for each other.  But is this to be for these two?   I will say the ending wasn't what I would have expected, however it did fit this story completion giving the reader a good read of  'depth, humor, tension, warmth, romance, parental guilt, development, fear and emotion.'  How will this story end? Will there be a HEA?  Well, this is where I say you will have to pick up the good read to see how this author brings its all out so very well to the readers.  Was this story a little predictable at times?  Yes, but it still was a good interesting warm intriguing read.

"She Deserves a Rich Thug" by LaQuita Cameron

My Thoughts....

For me that wasn't a read that I could fully understand where this author was going with her script. I was not sure of who I felt sorry for more with some of these characters [Akacia & Heavenly] seemed to be over the top in quite a weird sort of way.  It was hard to see what some of these women would do for love being so 'sneaky, conniving, scandalous and  simply ratchet! I didn't care for how they that those men treat them.   And then I don't want to leave out that Cherry Red...only leaving me to say wow being that she was definitely one who didn't allow herself to be played with her being such a schemer and liar. Will she finally get what she deserves?  Now for the men characters...Money K, Niko, Jamie, Travis, Trigger and Dean well all I can say is well I will stop here and just say you will have to pick up this read to find out for yourself how things go with each of them.  This was indeed like several stories in one...Heavenly's, Cherry Red, and Akacia's.  Hopefully in the next series we will find out more of the story because there is a lots more to be said about this story.  Definitely money plays into the story and gives you that feeling that money can be the root of all evil.  In the end who will be rescued out of all of this craziness?  Well, again we will get more in the next series that I am sure will answer many questions like...who will finally get smarter and let some things go before its too late.   So, if you like a story full of drama, betrayal and lies then you have come to the right place for "She Deserves A Rich Thug" will give it to you and more.

My Thoughts...

This read will definitely intriguing keeping you turning the pages to see what will happen next on this roller coaster ride in Seattle.  The author gives the reader quite a well written suspenseful urban story that is laced with some many twist and turns that flowed so well in the telling of the story.  Many times when you think you have it figured out how the story is going, then something else will pop up leaving you to say I didn't see that coming ...like that ending...wow what a surprise!  The characters from Asaya, James, Tonya to Rey were all  very complexed and flawed people in some way or another  except for the mother in law and child.  Be ready for a story is presented with a 'love triangle, murders and betrayals' and I found through reading this story that almost each of the main characters  had  a story of their own to tell.  Definitely the title was very appropriate for this novel "Retribution: What Goes Around."  All I can say is "expect the unexpected" because it looks like it's not over for Asaya  and James because we will get more from the next series by this author in "Retribution: ....Comes Around."  Would I recommend this novel?  Yes!

"Shambala Junction" by Dipika Mukherjee

My Thoughts....

I rather enjoyed "Shambala Junction" that dealt with a real life issue of 'international adoption.'  This story had some real interesting characters from Iris, Danesh, Aman, Laila, Lilavati, Roop, Maitri, Dhiman, Orphanage Madam, Vidyut, Emily, Shabnam, Piya, Kiku, Lakshmy, Zoran to a maybe few others giving this story plot one heck of a  very interesting 'journey.  We find that Iris and Danesh from the U.S. were on a trip to India but Iris gets off the train in 'Shambala Junction' and that transportation later pulls off without her and that is where this story will pick up. Iris is now alone in India and comes into contact with Aman's cart and that is where this story starts where her life is about to take a 'radical change.' The reader will be told a story that will keep your attention all the way to the end.  We find two people that were engaged, a father that makes a horrible decision only to want to take it back but it may be too late, a Canadian in there in India wanting to adopt a Indian baby girl, corruption going on with a baby that is seemed to be wanted by two people, as the story goes on will a engagement be broken and in the end will  one of these characters get a better sense of what she wants to do with her life?  Now, there will be a lots going on and you will have to keep up with it all but by the end of the story you will definitely get a real idea of what can go on in 'complex issues of adoption ion India' [trafficked babies/illegal adoptions].  There will be several story lines in this story one of a 'redemption and the pursuit of justice for the baby Piya,' a new love story and at the end a young woman maybe finding out about what she really wants in her life...from finding new friendships and what really counts as she grows to love the country there in Shambala Junction.

This story was wonderfully written with such adventures, cultures and also a good descriptions of this country in India..."Shambala Junction.'   By the end of the story we find something going on as Iris is on her way to the airport going home, with another little girl that maybe dealing with 'children's rights.'  So, I guess we may be in for another read with Iris by this author.   Would I recommend this read?  YES!

My Thoughts....

The author did a wonderful job in her deliverance of 'Unequally Yoked' to the readers. There were
so many times in the read that my heart went out for poor 'lost' Christine.  I can't imagine growing up in a loveless home and not being able to talk with my mother, father, sister, brothers, friends[no girlfriends]...teachers...etc.as it was for Christine.  It seemed like every one in Christine's family had some sort of problem.  Christine seemed to attract bullies [from school]on the daily scene.   Definitely Christine needed someone to talk and listen to her. Christine definitely missed her late grandmother's teachings about Lord for she had truly been their for her.  With Christine seeking her all in all with boyfriends that were there for one reason only. When it seems like she finally meets someone in the church to  finally showing  her true love knowing all she had been through, who was a minister, but as it turns out  he wasn't really listening to her at all...therefore, things went south too due to the fact they were so 'unequally yoked.' I liked how this author brings out the subject on sex and how it has been dealt with so often in the church's.  This novel was definitely not only a good read but one amazing, enlightening and inspiring read offering encouragement to lead one to Christ in the end.  I did also enjoy "the book providing a separate Bible study guide and the quote provided by best-selling Author Michelle Stimpson.  Would I recommend "Unequally Yoked?"....YES!

I Wish I Could Remember You By: L. J. Epps

Book Description....

"A story of enduring love as romance goes all wrong and Emily Montgomery struggles to rebuild her life after a terrible accident changes everything.

Emily wants romance in her life—the kind of romance that leads to a perfect marriage. She dreams of having a husband who loves her and treats her with respect, someone she can spend the rest of her life with. She meets—and marries—Steven Montgomery, hoping he will make all of those things come true.
Everything is wonderful, at first; until things start to slowly change. Steven begins to mentally, verbally, and physically abuse Emily. Through it all, Emily tries to be the best wife she can be.
Finally, after so much devastation, Emily leaves Steven, files for divorce, and moves on with her life. Her sister, Monica, introduces her to a wonderful man named Robert. Emily falls in love with him. He is kind, gentle and sweet—all things now missing from her marriage. She is happy, in love again, and well on her way to divorcing Steven.
But, Steven doesn’t want the divorce; and, since he is a savvy lawyer, he tries everything to prevent it. Although Emily still has residual feelings for Steven, she knows that it could never work between them. She wants to move on with the new love of her life, Robert.
After a horrific accident, Emily can no longer remember Robert and all the things he has meant to her, and she can no longer remember all the horrific things Steven has done to her.
Emily has two men professing their love for her. She is confused; she doesn’t know where she belongs or who she should be with. And, she has a hard time deciding who to choose. Emily is being pulled in several different directions by her loved ones. They all mean well, but only Emily knows how she truly feels. She has to decide, on her own, what to do.
All Emily wants is to start over, but that isn’t so easy, since everything in her world is broken, and she isn’t sure how to fix it. All Emily wants is to be happy, healthy, and whole again, but that may not be in the cards for her, either.

My Thoughts....

I found "I Wish I Could Remember You" a interesting amnesia read. The author gives the reader quite a read that deals mainly with three main characters....Emily, Stephen and Robert all being somewhat 'vivid and complexed.' For Emily will she be able to have the kind of marriage with happiness after her devastation with Stephen now that Robert is in the picture? Only after a terrible accident that involves Emily's memory we see this story will take the reader on quite a ride in getting her to a HEA. Who will truly be their for Emily in the end ...Stephen or Robert? Well, this is where I say you will have to pick up this good read to see for yourself how well this author brings it out to the readers. This will be a long read but after all is said and done a good one that in the end will give you a satisfied detailed read.

"Briuna's Babysitting Blues" by Niki Jilvontae

My Thoughts....

I liked this cute children's read about Briuna's babysitting where she found out that those 'Terrible Two' were quite a job for her. The illustrations were so cute that went so very well with Briuna's babysitting story. What all will happen with these sweet little boys? She had 'video games, pool tale, go-kart and unlimited food.' What more could she asked for? Oh, Briuna even got the fee she had asked for. However, poor Briuna goes from getting her finger cut, to a hug where she couldn't move her head...she had no phone...things tumbled off shelves...noises were heard where she slips on a can...cabinets are found opened and food spreaded all around the floor. Then the washer seems to spit out bubbles into the hallway where she slips and falls into the wall. What else could go wrong for poor Briuna? Well a ceiling fan seems to be out of control and even the dog will get into the show by flipping the table over and breaking a bowl. Poor Briuna now feels so defeated so she tells the 'Terrible Two' they had won. I liked how the 'terrible two' did finally help Briuna...poor thing being so tired she had gone to sleep by the time the parents had arrived. That did make me wonder who was watching the 'terrible two?' The poor thing was so glad the parents were back that she wasn't even concerned about being paid but one thing for sure I don't think the 'Terrible Two' will ever see Briuna again. Truly she had survived these 'Terrible Two' and vowed never to babysit again.
Sweet story that this author dedicated this novel to her children. I also like the games that were included at the end of the read. The only thing that I thought was missing was a answer sheet [smile].

Thirst By: Jacquelyn Frank

Book Description....

"A hidden society of vampires—and the humans they love—are at the heart of this opening novel in a biting, all-original series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Nightwalkers saga.

Rafe DaSilva is an energy vampire, soaking up nourishment from the sun—and, only when necessary, drawing sweet sustenance from humans who are pure in body and spirit. As the right-hand man to his queen, Rafe is a key player at a historic peace summit in New York City, which will unite the vampire nations against a common threat: the sycophants, who feed on humanity and kill indiscriminately. But Rafe’s fascination with a beautiful blond police detective may put everything at risk.

Detective Renee Holden has never worked a homicide quite like this. The victim has twin puncture wounds on his neck, and the only eyewitness swears she saw a vampire. Now’s definitely not the time to get distracted by a seductive stranger. But the suave, darkly austere, exotically handsome Rafe DaSilva is a hard man to deny, and as Renee falls under his spell, she also falls prey to his enemies. Desperate to protect her, Rafe lifts the veil on a shadow realm she can only visit—a world of intoxicating power, terrifying dangers, and forbidden pleasures."

My Thoughts.....

This one was one a PNR suspenseful story line.  The story was of a homicide detective [Renee Holder] with a witness claiming that a vampire attacked the victim.  Now with unusual murder on her hands [the victim had vampire puncture wounds] she get involved in the their 'vampire world'. The vampires were definitely different than the regular ones that I have read about. These vampire got there energy from the sun[they feed off of human's energy and not blood].  Be ready for a long read as this story comes together as we find Renee a very strong and independent woman [sometimes too much]who dealt with some emotional raw connections dealing with a romance with Rafe DeSilva[who was a energy vampire]. Now, this is where I hope the story would pick up but what I was left wondering if I had missed something. However, I kept on reading and by the time I got to the end I thought this novel was a OK read especially if you are into paranormal reads 'with murder, romance, suspense, energy sucking vampires, sycophants who feed and murder humans to stake their feeding lust.'  In other words the readers will see clean energy vs unclean energy sources. In the end will Rafe be able to protect Renee?  This is where I say you will have to pick up this unusual read to see what all with happen to Renee, Rafe and those sycophants,  Since this read was the first of 'The Energy Vampire' it will be of interest what the author has planned in the next series.

"M;y New Lil' Boo" by LaQuita Cameron

My Thoughts...

This one was a rather sad story all the way around it.  I don't know if I felt sorry more for Reesee, Angel, Linx, Vincent or Harriet because they all were well I will just say this read will definitely have you shaking your head and saying really?  Some of these characters really had some real tragedies that were simply off the chart...horrible, another one just 'sad excuse for a human being', another one being a real sneak wanting to be with two people [father & son] and let's now leave out that father...and that mother.  All of this leaving me saying  WoW what a read!  Now, all I can say is that you will have to pick up this read and see for yourself  how crazy these people are all on some kind of weird roller coaster ride. It will be interesting seeing how this story will all come out with all of its 'lies, drama, secrets, twist, turns, pain  and lots of  mayhem.'  OK, I will stop here. To get more you will have to pick up this read and see for yourself.  Will anyone of these characters be able to get their lives together before it's too late?

My Thoughts...

What a beautiful story of Cayson and Skye.  These two people had been best friends for so long. When will they realize that they were in love with each other?  As we see these two are drawn together what will be the many problems that come about before they realize that they belong together?  The characters and storyline were very well written giving the readers quite a interesting romantic story.  Now, this is the beginning  of the 'Forever & Ever' series so be ready for many other series that will deal with various interesting characters that are in the read.

The Ladies' Room By: Carolyn Brown

Book Description.....

"Secrets told in the church ladies' room are supposed to stay in the ladies' room. But that doesn't mean that what Trudy overhears there during her great-aunt Gertrude's funeral won't change the rest of her life.
Trudy has a daughter in the middle of a major rebellion; a two-timing husband who has been cheating for their entire married life; and a mother with Alzheimer's residing in the local nursing home. She doesn't really need a crumbling old house about to fall into nothing but a pile of memories and broken knickknacks.
Billy Lee Tucker, resident oddball in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, lived next door to Gert, and in her will she leaves him the funds to help Trudy remodel the old house. That's fine with Billy Lee, because he's been in love with Trudy since before they started school. And just spending time with her is something he'd never ever allowed himself to dream about.
A beautiful home rises up from the old house on Broadway, and right along with it rises up a relationship. But is Trudy too scarred from what she heard in the ladies' room to see a lovely future with Billy Lee?"

"The Ladies' Room" by Carolyn Brown

My Thoughts...

This was quite a interesting read of a women taking charge of her life after finding out her husband of 20 years has been nothing more than a cheat!  What a way to find out about this out after being overheard at a funeral [in the ladies room]  and Trudy decides to make some changes in her life...by starting all over.    This story will have some very interesting characters...from 'aunt Gert, wayward child[Crystal],a mom [with  Alzheimer's] a  philanderer  husband [Drew], two obnoxious relatives [Marty & Betsy] and a true friend [Billy Lee']  that were all unique in one way or another.  Be sure that there will be a lots of 'sadness, joy, pain pleasure, laughter,  timidity and courage' before this story is over giving the reader one heck of a read when it's all said and done in this heartwarming story that was without any violence or explicit sex.  I loved how this story 'revolves around Trudy finding her self respect in sticking with tough decisions.  From what Truly will hear in the ladies' room will she be able to see a future with Billy Lee[the neighbor]?  Oh yes, the plot is somewhat predictable but it's still a good read.  Will Trudy and Billy finally get their HEA? Well, to get all of the answers to these questions you will have to pick up this good read to see.

My Guy Friday: He Only Plays for Me by Deidra D.S. Green

Book Description....

"“He strummed me and I let him play…”
She met him on a Friday. He stole her heart.
Elon James was everything Justice Monroe could ever want in a man. She was a poet. He a musician. The connection between the two was the stuff of legends; more than physical, more than mental, their relationship was unequivocal. They should have lived happily ever after, but circumstances wouldn’t allow for such a clichĂ© ending. Hard choices and heart break would determine their fate. Justice fell in love with one man but married another.
But what of true love, soul stirring love? Could real love truly win in the end?
Find out in, My Guy Friday, He only plays for me…"

My Thoughts....

What happens when the poet meets the musician?  Well for these two Justice and Elon it was magical in the way they felt about each other right from the start their meeting.  Then throw a Zachariah [Zach] into this picture [a childhood person she payed not attention too] and then there will be twist and turns for Justice due to the help of a mom and her best friend [Ms Cassandra]. What all will these moms do in order to bring these two together?  I felt the story was unique in how this author tells the story so well giving the reader [lots of  'action, love tears and fear'] to this story and I don't want to leave out all of the lovely poetry that Justice presented throughout this novel. This poetry was simply beautiful done and  I loved the friendship that Justice had with her two best friends[Alise & Dorian] and the time they all spent together was beautifully displayed. This is definitely what true friendship is all about!  Now, we have a single lady having to make up her mind about two men in her life that were definitely opposites. How will this drama unfold?  Well, this is where I say you will have to pick up this good read and see for yourself how this will all turn out.  Be prepared to be a little shocked at its ending however, after thinking over the story I could see why Justice decided what was best her her. Will Justice finally get her 'Guy Friday?'

"Back From Broken...A Dancers Journey Back to Wholeness" by Rosheka Henry

My Thoughts.....

Wow, this was simply one wonderful Christian non-fiction read giving the readers ten chapters..as
this author comes "Back From Broken."

This is just a few notes of what I received from these wonderful well written chapters...

Chapter 1:  Let the church say "Amen"...Growing up especially in church can be hurtful in so many different ways as it was presented in this chapter.  So many of us are stuck and hurting.  Why is that?

Chapter 2:  Crippled by Religion.... I like this quote:  "If you think that there's something wrong with what is going on, whether is be in your church in your home, or on your job, ask questions and don't just accept anything that someone tells us.

Chapter 3:  Identity Crisis In The Church....Do one really know who they really are...as in knowing what they are supposed to be doing in or for the Kingdom?  Do many of us really know or understand what God wants for us in our life?

Chapter 4:  The Prodigal Daughter:  This is very much like The Prodigal Son...We learn of her story.
I found this quite a read...wow!  Above all ... "Despite the mistakes, despite the wrong choices, he still loves me and he still loves you."  I loved this!   The author goes on to say "This book was not for me but it was for those of you who maybe going through any of the situations that I talk about her and It helps you get out of it or not get into it. I want you to be better and not have to go through the same hurt, anger and bitterness that I went through.  Through all the frustrations and all the hurt I still smile and I am still standing."

Chapter 5:  Warriors of Praise...Dancing A New Dance...Being asked to do some praise dancing.  How will this turn out?   This was quite a road travel but after  following the suggestion....start all over at the beginning..."Take Me To the King"  was a success as presented for the Pastor's Anniversary.

Chapter 6:  When Brokenness Goes Unnoticed Church Hurt..."YOU CANNOT GET TO WHOLENESS WITHOUT FORGIVENESS!!!...I loved this,..I forgive you...I forgive you....I forgive you. When you can forgive yourself you can begin to get back from broken." "When  you begin to forgive you will put yourself in a place where you can move forward and you not longer suffer from the church hurt that once held you back from getting to your wholeness."

Chapter 7:  Bitterness...The Black Hole..."Bitterness a a black hole that can keep you from growing spiritually." Now what does that mean?  Learning to LET IT GO!'

Chapter 8:  Finding Healing In Forgiveness....Learning to say:  I FORGIVE YOU, I FORGIVE YOU, I FORGIVE YOU!!!  Three most important words anyone can say.  "Being set free from the bondage of unforgiveness."

Chapter 9: Redefining The Woman Inside...Being able to changing the way that one thinks and the way one see things.  This is so powerful!  "Redefining and understanding ones relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."  Not letting anyone "DEFINE THE PERSON INSIDE BUT GOD!"

Chapter 10:  Back From Broken...You are working with the person you were before you were broken.
Know that there will be still test from the enemy but know that your God is there for you at all times. Have your prayer warriors in place because you will need them.  "When you can forgive someone ad truly mean it, that's being back from broken."When mistakes are made it is wonderful knowing that you can dust yourself off and get back up and keep moving."

This was a wonderfully written book that gives one a 'story of one woman's journey back to wholeness.' The novel is presented to help all 'get up and move forward moving to the rightful place of greatness.'  To know if one finds themselves slipping all you have to do is pick up the wonderful read "Back From Broken" and reread it until you feel your strength coming back again.'  Please pick up this excellent read and see for yourself how well this novel is being presented.  You will not be sorry because the read is so enlightened in all that is given being so very well written for anyone who wants to come back to wholeness after being broken.

To the author... thank you so much for the gift of your novel and allowing me to give my honest opinion of  'Back From Broken.'

My Thoughts....

Author J.A. What will happen as Mari is arrested for a murder of someone she hasn't even met leaving her paranoid and not knowing who she can trust? Will her 'estranged husband who was a prominent defense attorney be able to defend her?'  But with the NYPD detective Kerry Blasco and Detective Alex Brand on the trail who we know from the Embryo series be able to get the job done in finding out who is behind this murder? Be ready for a lots of other possible suspects in all of the twist, turns and drama that will be presented that will keep you guessing right up to the very end. My Thoughts...

On the first go away Lakeisha's and Baylor wedding didn't turn out well. But there was someone waiting in the wings that would do right by Lakeisha. I found "Edge of Winter: Love and Heartbreak" a good read because the ending was a good HEA. Now I know I have probably said too much but it is definitely worth the read to see how Lakeisha gets there and this second Christmas holiday wedding really puts the icing on the cake. This author did a wonderful job in the setting and description of both weddings. That dress was off the chart beautiful. So, yes I would definitely recommend this novel as a good Christmas romance, even though for Lakeisha had it done twice for her to finally get it right.

My Thoughts....

"So Gone Over You 2" picks up where the first novel leaves off...more drama. This will definitely have you thinking what in the world is going on in this crazy love dramatic story.  Really is everybody crazy?  The main question I asked was what was it about Sasha that the 'men were so crazy over her'  from LaKeith, Donnell, Morris & Andrew?  Now that some other characters are in the story [Pharaoh, Eric & Bishop...'the Conway men'] will they be able to protect Sasha since it seems like Andrew hasn't been able to achieve this. Will there be a trap set for Donnell? What about that secret that Donnell had..with Slick?   After all is said and done will Sasha finally see herself differently and be able to change her  ways before it is too late?  Well, I guess we better get ready for more drama because Bischop Thurston is out of prison so Lord help us because I am sure things are going to really get even more interesting in this next crazy love story.

A night out with the girls may have been exactly what she needed to get her out of the depressed mood she was in but then she meets Donnell, a womanizing tattoo artist who she falls hard for. As the relationship develops, Sasha finds herself back in the same situation...depending on a man. The on and off relationship with Donnell becomes so toxic that Sasha feels that she has no choice but to run back home to Dover, DE.

My Thoughts...

Wounded Warrior, Wounded Wife was a very interesting and courageous read that really is out there to help any combat veterans and their wives.  The way this author shares some extraordinary stories that have been faced by many military families 'especially for those who have had to shift their daily lives and even became the caretaker.'  This novel is definitely a book for military members, especially to those who have had to shift their lives ad become the caretaker.'  I found this a excellent read as one  meet wives and partners who drew upon their inter strengths as they 'share an intimate tale of reuniting, recovering and rebuilding their lives.'  What a collection in this reads of  'some personal stories of the aftermath of war on the home front that offered some good resources of advice and hope.'  With this author [Barbara McNally] who was a physical therapist witnessed a man who had jumped off a bridge inspired her to find out more about 'PTS and its effects on those who have participated in war' and what all she found out was truly something definitely needed for the wives of those wounded military survivors.  Ms. McNally's treatment plan SPA [Support, Purpose, Appreciation] would bring these [20]women together as a retreat giving them a day away for the caregiving role where many were able to vent with others who had similar situations.  Some of these stories had some happy ending while others are still being worked on. In the end there was a list of nonprofit and charitable agencies out there to help these 'wounded warriors.'   In the end I found "Wounded Warrior, Wounded Wife" offering not only advice but hope not only to our warriors but to their families understand.  This was definitely a read that will give the reader especially a military family a better knowledge of what challenges that many families have had to face when a love one has returned home injured from war and even more so that the general population also need to hear.

"Unbalanced 2: Marriage then Love" by Laura T. Johnson

My Thoughts....

Having read the first novel by this author I was very much interested in reading to the continuance
of this story in this second book 2. Well, I will say for poor Catherine this author really give the reader quite a read that was so full of pain. I really felt for Catherine because truly all she wanted was to be truly loved by her husband. On the outside it seemed like that was what she had from Dorian but as one reads this story truly this wasn't the case. Did Dorian really feel that after he had abused Catherine giving her 'expensive gifts and great sex' was all that he needed to do in order to have or keep Catherine's love? There were several things going on in this read that one really can see ... Catherine being abused, Dorian horrible acts and then a love interest that was put there by a brother-in-law. With Catherine wanting to just be loved will she fall for what it seems that is out of reach for her? This story is so sad in more than one can ever know because we know someone who has or is suffering from this kind of abuse everyday of our lives. What was a puzzlement for me was what can Myles truly do about this situation without causing so deep hurt and sorrow after it is all said and done with the families [brothers,sister-in-laws, dad, mom & grandmother. For poor Catherine I don't think she can think straight...definitely she needed someone to talk to. However, at this point I don't think it would be her sister [Elise] who was their but would Cat listen? Well, as we go into the next series maybe all of these questions will be answered and so much more that it will be all cleared up for the readers. I do believe this author will be able to make this all make sense by the time we get to the end. I would suggest anyone who has read 'Unbalanced 2' to please go back and read the first book to see what you missed by not reading Book 1. I am sure it will help you understand just what has gone on with Catherine and Dorian up to this point from book 1. Truly Dorian need HELP before it's too late! I hate to see what will happen to him if he doesn't get it! Anyway I will stop here and say I was able to follow maybe not understanding why all of this was happening but as I say earlier I am so this author will get if all presented to us in the next 'Unbalanced 3.' Yes, this is a cliffhanger. I will be looking forward to seeing will their be hope and true love for Catherine to receive her finally getting a HEA that she so desperately wants mainly from a true love.

"Undisclosed Desire: The Tycoon's Heart" by Falon Gold

My Thoughts...

I found this novel rather a sweet predictable romance and definitely a read that will put a smile on your face as you are reading through it. Truly Apollo [the boss] and Malisa [the employee] were truly made for each other. What happens when the overworked Malisa who has been overworked and needing a vacation decides to take one to Vegas. However, to Malisa's surprise when she gets there who will she find their in Vegas at the casino? Will these two find love? Well, before all of that can be answered the story will take quite a turn as Malisa leaves Vegas upset to visit her parents in Colorado and it seems like all hell seems to break loose. What will happen when not only Apollo shows up but a friend [Derek] comes to visit Malisa's parents? What was up with Malisa's adoptive brother [Blake] with all of his strangeness and I don't want to leave out the rest of that family? There are still a lots of questions that need to be answered but to find out you will have to pick up "Undisclosed Desire: The Tycoon's Heart" to see how well this author will bring it all out to the reader. It will be a 'sweet love story' that has a lots of drama but in the end...well again you will have to read to see if Apollo and Malisa will finally get their HEA. I felt by the end of the story it ended rather abruptly but all in all it was still a sweet romantic read.

Thank you to the author for the gift of the read for my honest opinion.

What a great finale read!  Indeed everyone got just what was coming to them!  This was quite some ride for Roxie but seeing her finally get her HEA was simply wonderful as it was also for Diana and Soul. To truly understand the storyline you will have to read the first two Wife Of A Misfit series.   All that is left for me to say is that I am so glad this one is finally over because I am not sure my heart could take any more reading from this good read that had so much going on that definitely kept you on the edge of your seat.  Very well done to the author who gave the readers a fantastic ending to a good series.

My Thoughts....

This was another good series that this author gives so well to her readers.  I found the characters from Roxie, Magyc, Soul, Diana, Rico, Kwon, Melia, Tara, Jude and several others will definitely keep your attention being so well developed, portrayed and oh yes just down right interesting.  The author really knows how to keep it all real in the urban fiction read giving us violence and drama that is simply off the chart definitely leaving you speechless and saying did that just happen?  I am glad this was a short read for me because I did not put it down until the end. The reader will be left wanting the last series 'Wife of a Misfit 3:  The Finale'  I am sure there will be many questions that are left unanswered  will be answered in this last series.
